Plane and Simple

This is the card I created for Mary Jo's sketch this week.  I just love this set for masculine cards and it seems like I never have enough of those.
Supplies:
Plane and Simple stamp set
Elegant Soiree Designer series paper
word window punch
Soft Suede classic ink
assorted buttons
 hemp twine
dimensionals
Very Vanilla, Soft Suede and Crumb Cake card stock

All you need is Love

This layout is a quick and simple one using a Sketch from a Challenge on Soul Scrappers.  I used the Love Impressions specialty paper for both the background card stock and the title.

The heart and brackets die provide some embellishments and I used our sticky sheets on the large heart along with some chunky glittler.

Just for you

I love the new Sew Suite stamp set (even though I am NOT one that sews, LOL).  The Sweet Stitches fabric designer brads are fun to add as well.  The Designer paper and border are from the Sale-a-bration package which includes Designer series paper and sticker sheets.

Gift bag

I used a plain kraft colored gift bag and decorated it with some Springtime Vintage designer series paper and fabric along with a saying from Afterthoughts and some vintage trinkets.  It is a simple way to add some fun to a plain gift bag and this one will be for a workshop hostess and will have some fun goodies inside for her.

Filled with Love

I mixed a couple of different Valentine sets on this one - Filled with Love and Valentine Defined.  The Designer Series paper is in the promotion package along with Filled with Love and the free bitty buttons.

I used Regal Rose, Real Red, Pretty in Pink and Basic Black classic inks for this one and added a retired epoxy brad to the "O" in love.

Sympathy

Our Late Night Stampers challenge this week is Sympathy Cards so here is my first example for you.

I rounded two corners of my Very Vanilla card stock before I started to make it a little different.  The stamp sets used are Elements of Style and Thoughts and Prayers.  I used a blender pen to add Pear Pizazz to the leaves and then a marker to color in the flowers (Blushing Bride) and added some accents with the Pretty in Pink marker.

Be My Valentine

This is just another simple Valentine's Day card using the single stamp Be My Valentine.

I added about 1 1/2" of embossing with the Perfect Polka dots impressions folder and then scored a line above it.  The lace is Victoria crochet trim ribbon and the brad is from the Antique brads collection.

Chubby Little Snowman

I really love to use overlays on my digital scrap pages, but it makes the pages so slow to load!  Recently, I ran across a video at the My Digital Studio website that explained how to change things a bit and make the pages quicker to load.
Basically, you start a page and put in your background paper and the overlays you want.  Then you save it as a jpeg.
Next, you open a new page and go to background papers and choose custom.  Then you choose what you just created and it will all be in one piece and now will be your backgroup paper.  (If that doesn't make sense, the video shows every step and explains it very well.)

On top of the Mountain

Another Baby it's Cold Outside sample for Late Night Stampers...  Check out those rosy red cheeks :)

Little things

This card is made with some Designer Series paper that will be offered as a Sale-a-bration item.  There is some stickers that match in the package as well.

I used Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point and Whisper White card stock and some retired Pacific Point ribbon and a library clip to finish the card.  The stamp is from Full of Life.

Punch Bunch

I made a couple cards that are very similar, but have a little variation and thought I would share them both.  The stamp set used is Punch Bunch which will be available during Sale-a-bration.

The first one uses polytwill ribbon in Pear Pizazz and the second Night of Navy 5/8" grosgrain ribbon.  The pin and brads on the second are from the vintage trinkets package.

Journaling 101 course

Journaling hasn't been the easiest part of scrapbooking for me and for that reason I sometimes don't journal too much on my pages.  I am excited to be a part of a Journaling 101 class that will help me to improve my story telling so that I am not just showcasing pictures, but adding more detailed memories to my pages.

The class is a 12 week course and it starts on January 24th.  If you can't get to the challenges and homework right away, you can always go back to it. The archives and galleries for the class will be up permanently, so there's plenty of time to get caught up.

Here is the description of the class:
** Techniques, tips and ideas to stimulate your creative process
** Tasks to complete
** Challenges
** Sample pages each week from Erika Martin and 3 other amazingly talented scrapbook artists (40 total layouts):
Kris Sobolik
Karen Findlay
Jami Hubatch
** A gallery for you to upload your pages to so that we can all share with each other
** An interactive forum with discussions on each week's work
** PDF files with all of the course outlines so that you can print them out or save them to your computer for future use
** One-on-one email correspondence with Erika Martin if you need help with any of the tasks
** ALL NEW never-before-seen layouts!

If you're already a scrapbooker or even if you've never scrapbooked before.....this course has something for everyone! It doesn't matter where you live or what you scrapbook with, this course has been created for everyone!

Come on over and join us!  You can go here to sign up and please let Erika know that I referred you :)

Extreme Snowboard

Baby it's cold outside...our Late Night Stampers theme this week and I thought this would qualify :)  My boys (8 and 7) love it because of the snowboarder, they love to ride down the little hill their dad pushed up for them outside as often as possible.

Colors:
Whisper White, Early Espresso, Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizazz
Extreme Snowboard, Extreme Elements and Grunge Rock stamp sets
dotted scallop ribbon border punch

The lines on the image initially were an accident.  I dropped my ink pad on the card stock after I stamped the snowboarder and it made a line from the side of the pad.  So I went with it and added more lines using the edge of my ink pad and I kind of like the effect.

Daily Dose of Sunshine

Another page for a challenge on Soul Scrappers - something we can't live without :)
I used some new Occassions mini items on this as well as some retired things.  It is hard to tell from the lighting on the picture, but the base card stock is Rose Red.  The DSP is Springtime Vintage and the Big buttons are also from the new mini.

You warm my heart

I used the Designer Series paper from our current promotion on this card along with the Valentine Defined (Occassions Mini).
It is a very quick and easy one and I added a sentiment from the Filled With Love set (also in the promotion) and the modern label punch.  The ribbon is Real Red 1/8" taffeta.
Here is the promotion details.....

CASE resolution

Another one of my stamping resolutions for this year is to take advantage of all the awesome tutorials available at the UStamp with Dawn and Friends sessions and my first project in that department is below.
The creator is Ilina Crouse and as always, she has an awesome project.

January Stamp Club

I tried to work with mostly new Occassions mini products this time, you might notice one of the cards is a slightly different version of one I had posted earlier too.

The layout uses the Notes and Details stamp set and the Hearts and brackets die.
Valentine Defined is the stamp set used here and Poppy Parade is the card base color.  Again, I have used the Framed Tulips impressions folder.

The final card features the Springtime vintage designer series paper (as does the layout) and a hostess set called Punch Potpourri.

Inspired by Nature

This card was created with Mary Jo's sketch in mind.  I used the new embossing folder called Framed tulips and cut off the corner and just used that.
Colors:
Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist, So Saffron, Whisper White
Stamp Sets:
Inspired by Nature, Just Believe
Other accessories:
Dotted scallop ribbon border punch
Framed tuplips impressions folder

Snowy page CCMC131

Create with Connie and Mary have a Let it Snow challenge up right now and on Soul Scrappers, one of our challenges is to create a page using a recycled Christmas card so I combined the two for this page.

The snowflakes are made with glossy white paper and then sponged with Marina mist and sprayed with platium shimmer paint mixed with alcohol.  There is crystal effects and chunky white glitter in the square of the card, but it is difficult to see on the picture.

Time to hit print

Well, this week at Late Night Stampers our challenge is to be creating a project that shows some of our resolutions for the year.  I have been great at making scrap pages in My Digital Studio, but haven't printed very many, they are just sitting in my computer!  The page below contains maybe 25% of the ones that need to go to the printer so that is one of my resolutions for the year (and one I plan to do soon!!)
