Blue Ribbon Birthday

I was going for a masculine and fairly simple birthday card with this one - I say fairly since I cut out the blue ribbon...  Midnight Muse will be missed when it retires, I paired it with Crumb Cake for this one and I really like the two colors together.

Hip Hip Hooray

I did a little playing around with folding on the sentiment for this card. The strip of Whisper White is 3/4" wide with some banner ends cut into it. The sentiment from Hip Notes is stamped in the middle of the strip with Baked Brown Sugar; then I folded straight down on either side of the image and folded each side at an angle with one corner of the angle meeting the straight fold. Make sense?

The close up might help if there is any confusion...
It doesn't show up too well on the top picture, but there is an image stamped with Silver Metallic ink (flag stamp in the Perfect Pennants stamp set) just above the sentiment.
Supplies:
Hip Notes
Perfect Pennants
Downtown Grunge
Baked Brown Sugar, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder, Silver Metallic ink
Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White card stock

April My Paper Pumpkin

This time of year is when I appreciate the fun and simple My Paper Pumpkin kits - when time to stamp is very limited.  Basically, I followed the kit exactly except I added a card with some of the extras (and there are still plenty of extras ready to use another time!).

To create the card, I added the Whisper White, Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral card stock as well as the half label from the Labels collection framelits in Pear Pizzazz.  The rest is from the leftover pieces of the kit.

inside of the card...

This piece just slides right over the top of the frame for some super cute packaging!

The collection together...

and the frame.  I can see those stamps being used quite a bit in the future as well - love them!

Those Whom We Have Loved...

This is a card that can be put together very quickly if you are in need of a sympathy card and realize you don't have one made already.  I just took some Soft Sky and Midnight Muse scraps and layered them onto a base of Pistachio Pudding.

The sentiment is stamped with Midnight Muse and when I inked my flower image with Soft Sky and Pistachio Pudding markers, I stamped it off on my grid paper before I stamped on my card stock.

Supplies:
Love and Sympathy
Soft Sky, Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding card stock
Midnight Muse, Pistachio Pudding, Soft Sky ink
Naturals composition specialty paper

Serene Thank You

This week has become a really busy one now that the temperatures are warm enough to load seed potatoes into trucks that are not enclosed.  I have not been near my stamp room for awhile, but hopefully I will be able to sneak in there before too long...

I had some leftover pieces of little hexagons from the last time I used my hexagon hive thinlit and thought I would use a few on a card.  They are layered onto Soft Sky punched hexagons.

The little washi tape bow was made by folding some washi tape over so that both sticky sides touch each other; then you just tie a little knot.

Supplies:
Lots of Thanks, Serene Silhouettes
Early Espresso, Crumb Cake ink
Early Espresso, Soft Sky, Very Vanilla card stock
Naturals Composition specialty paper
Labels collection framelits
Hexagon hive thinlit
Hexagon punch
Watercolor wonder washi tape
Vintage trinkets

Love Those In Colors!

I probably should have made this card using the retiring In Colors, but these are the ones we get to keep for another year.  It seems like I am so sad to let most of the retiring ones go each year, but the new ones are exciting to use as well :)

For the background, I just stamped the same image in each of the 5 2013-2015 In Colors and you could use your Stamp a ma jig, but with the clear mount stamps it also works to eyeball it, which is what I did here.

Supplies:
Peachy Keen
Baked Brown Sugar, Very Vanilla card stock
Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe ink
Decorative label punch
Retro fresh washi tape

The Grad Life Part 2

As promised, here is the second table decoration I played with using My Digital Studio and the Grad Life download.  Again, Pacific Point is the focus color and I mounted the front panel on Basic Black and then a Gold Foil sheet.

For the banner, I took some Watercolor Wonder washi tape and folded it in half so no sticky portion was showing.  I tied a little knot in each end and added it to the frame with glue dots.

The pieces of the banner are added with glue dots and dimensionals over the top of the washi tape.  In the bottom right corner, I added another little strip of washi tape and a Pacific Point button.

Another simple but fun piece that would look nice alongside pictures, the cake or guestbook table.

The Grad Life Part 1

I recently made graduation announcements for one of our nephews which I will share sometime in the future, but in the process I started thinking about some table decorations in the same theme.  Today you will see one of them and tomorrow one more :)

They are both based on a digital download called The Grad Life which I used in Stampin' Up!'s My Digital Studio program.

I chose to use Pacific Point as the focal color on all the printed items and added some white, black and gold accents.

In the bottom of the jar, there are a few punched items (chevron border punch and itty bitty punches), some individual gold sequins that were made by taking apart the sequin trim, buttons, and cut confetti and diplomas and caps that were stamped and cut out.

I took two of the circles that were first printed and then punched (1 3/4" circle punch), put them together with dimensionals and added some baker's twine between them.  The baker's twine is wrapped around an antique brad that is stuck into the cork top of the jar so it holds it suspended.

Finally, I used some of the same baker's twine and wrapped it many times around the neck of the jar and then tied a bow.

It is a fairy simple thing to put together and you could really add anything you like to the inside or change the occasion idea as well.

Hexagon Happy

Here is another card sample using the Hexagon Hive thinlit and I have used some Gold Fancy Foil Vellum behind it, mounting both on Basic Black card stock.

In keeping with the gold theme, I added some Watercolor Wonder washi tape and stamped the sentiment with Metallic Gold ink.  The flower's ink colors are Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green.

Very Vanilla, Basic Black card stock

Beautiful Song

The Late Night Stampers challenge right now is Mother's Day projects and I found this fun wooden cutting board one day that I decided to decorate.  The saying "Family is like music, some high notes, some low notes, but always a beautiful song" was something I found on Pinterest.

The Naturals Composition specialty paper went well with the saying so I layered that on some Soft Sky and rounded the corners.

Then, I used some delicate details lace tape, 5/8" chevron naturals ribbon and Pistachio Pudding ruffle stretch trim as accents.

A little flower from the Everything Eleanor stamp set in Strawberry Slush ink, a few more details (including a Strawberry Slush spiral flower) and you have a fun transformation!

Supplies:
Everything Eleanor
Strawberry Slush ink
Soft Sky, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding card stock
Naturals composition specialty paper
delicate details lace tape
Pistachio Pudding ruffle stretch trim
5/8" Chevron natural ribbon
basic rhinestones
In color boutique details
corner rounder

Happy Easter!

Today is a fun day to celebrate with family, I hope that you are able to spend time with family on this Easter Sunday as well.

I have a couple things to share today, the first is an Easter card that has a lot of fun texture and the cloud is a framelit in the word bubbles framelits set.

The grass is die cut from the tasteful trim die and the eggs are oval framelits.

Next, I was playing with some of the eggs I had boiled for the kids to dye.  The one on the left has 3 colors of reinkers - Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake and Strawberry Slush.  I used a kleenex to apply the ink and also wipe off the excess.  The glimmer paper came from a past Paper Pumpkin kit.

The one on the right has some itty bitty punch shapes that I added with glue dots and there is some Retro Fresh washi tape around the middle.  The stands are made with a 1" strip of Gold card stock and I taped the back with washi tape.

Happy Easter!
Christ the Lord is Risen Today!  Alleluia!

Printers Tray Gift

This is a project I made for a friend to use as a gift, sometimes a hard thing to put together when it is for someone else...

It has 6 equal size openings and we placed pictures in 5 of them, but I wanted to add a little extra in alongside the pictures.  Essentials wooden elements, buttons, washi tape and some gold sequin trim and gold baker's twine fit with my idea for the project so I went with it.

There are some stamped images from the Happy Watercolor stamped set on a couple of the backgrounds using some Gold Metallic ink.

The non picture opening has a Bible Verse with a brush stamp image behind it created using My Digital Studio and a little bit of the Gold Fancy Foil Vellum as well.

Watercolor Wonder washi tape fit the theme perfectly as well so I was really happy with how the whole project came together.

Supplies:
Printers Tray
Metallic Gold Ink
My Digital Studio
Happy Watercolor
Whisper White, Basic Black, Garden Green card stock
Gold Fancy Foil Vellum
buttons
gold sequin trim
essentials wooden elements
Watercolor wonder designer washi tape
gold bakers twine

Mosaic Kindness

Another thank you to those of you following my Maddiebug Designs board on Pinterest - wow, is all I can say!  over 7000 followers is truly crazy for me to think about!

A little different colors for the card today, orange isn't usually in my color scheme.  I ran the Pumpkin Pie card stock through the Big Shot with the Modern Mosaic folder for a little texture and then added some Basic Gray and Modern Medley designer series paper to it.

Next, I use the On Film framelits and some Basic Black card stock for a little negative die cut piece.  The flowers and sentiment from Gifts of Kindness are stamped with Black Stazon.

Supplies:
Gifts of Kindness
Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Basic Gray, Very Vanilla card stock
Stazon Black ink
Modern Medley designer series paper
Very Vintage buttons
On film framelits
Modern Mosaic folder
Modern label punch
