Love Your Smile

For some reason I hadn't put some pictures of my nieces from 2012 into a scrapbook yet so I decided to put together a page with all three of them together.  I started with Basic Gray card stock as my base and used some Tasty Treats specialty paper and part of a previous Paper Pumpkin kit as well.

I added a few Sending love embellishments and lace doilies as accents as well.

Supplies:
Basic Gray, Basic Black, Whisper White card stock
Paper Pumpkin
Tasty Treats specialty paper

Perfect Thanks

I had a goal to work through lots of my scraps while I was making a bunch of thank you notes to give to a couple nephews to use for graduation gifts and I think I did pretty well!  This is one of the cards that came out of the scrap project - I think I made around 10 of them similar to this one.  I didn't want to get to crazy with embellishments and layers since they are for boys but I think these turned out simple and fun enough for their purpose.

The designer series paper is from the Tasty Treats specialty collection and the stamp set I used is called Perfectly Wrapped.

Supplies:
Perfectly Wrapped
Watermelon Wonder, Daffodil Delight ink
Whisper White, Daffodil Delight card stock
Tasty Treats specialty paper

Balloons and Polka Dots

This card has quite a few layers and a little bit of texture added with the pompom trim.  I started with a base of Whisper White and added some balloons with the Balloon Celebration stamp set.

For the next layer I used some Party Animal designer series paper layered onto a piece of Crushed Curry card stock.  The final layer is the sentiment from Big on Birthdays layered onto
Crumb Cake card stock.

Supplies:
Balloon Celebrations, Big on Birthdays
Emerald Envy, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Crumb Cake ink
Whisper White, Tip top Taupe, Crushed Curry card stock

Happy

This is a card I used for a card swap last weekend at a retreat.  I cut down some of the candle cards from the February 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit and used them as one of my layers.

The stamping was all done using the Happy Celebrations stamp set and the "Happy" was embossed with the Celebrations Duo folders.  I also added a few enamel stars leftover from another Paper Pumpkin kit.

Supplies:
Happy Celebrations
Calypso Coral, Night of Navy, Crushed Curry, Pool Party ink
Whisper White card stock
February 2017 Paper Pumpkin kit
Celebrations duo folders

Just Like You

The Suite Sentiments stamp set has a variety of occasions in it, graduation, Easter, thanks, friend, guy, etc.  For the card today, I paired the stamp set with the Tasty Treats specialty paper pack and some ruched ribbon.

The piece of specialty paper that I chose is embossed so that the treats are raised and shiny.  I think the variety in the pack is pretty nice - some fun ones and some that are just colors and patterns.

Supplies:
Suite Sentiments
Early Espresso
Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder, Tip Top Taupe, Peekaboo Peach card stock
Peekaboo Peach ruched ribbon
Tasty Treats specialty paper

Nailed It

I made a few cards using the Nailed It stamp set and Build It framelits recently and I have a couple versions to share with you today.

On the first one, I used a hexagon that was embossed with the Hexagons dynamic embossing folder behind the tools.  The tools are colored in with markers and I used some retired metallic paint to add a little shine to them.

For the second one, I flipped the card base over and added some Urban Underground specialty paper behind the tools and also added a sentiment from the Suite Sentiments stamp set to make if a graduation card.

I have found that with detailed images that are die cut like these, I tend to do better when I make several cards with them instead of just one here and there.  Maybe they get more use that way, which is a good thing.

Supplies:
Nailed It, Suite Sentiments
Basic Black, Real Red, Crushed Curry, Delightful Dijon, Smoky Slate, Crumb Cake ink
Very Vanilla, Early Espresso card stock
Built it framelits
Hexagons dynamic folder
Urban underground specialty paper
metallic ink

Big on Birthdays

The Big on Birthdays stamp set has some fun ways to send birthday wishes and the stamps have fairly large print which I love.

I chose to pair this saying with the Delicate Details (SAB 2017) stamp set and some Cupcakes and Carousels designer series paper.

The card started with a Very Vanilla card base before I added the images and I colored in the flowers with So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Old Olive ink.  A few random enamel shapes finished it off.

Delicate Details (SAB 2017), Big on Birthdays

For You Carton

I ordered some of these cute mini egg cartons months ago and haven't played with them yet so I decided it was about time!  This one is decorated using the Stylish stems framelits and Special Reason stamp set.

I cut out a flower using the Glimmer paper pack (SAB 2017) and added a full flower underneath before sponging some Sweet Sugarplum ink on the Whisper White.

The designer series paper is from the Succulent Garden collection and I added a lace doily, button and linen thread to finish off the top.

Special Reason
Whisper White card stock
Sweet Sugarplum, Pear Pizzazz ink
Succulent Garden dsp
Glimmer paper pack (SAB 2017)

Just Like You

I always like to have a few gift card holders on hand just in case I need something quick.  This one is really simple to put together and would work great for kids with the Party Animal designer series paper as the focus.

I started with a piece of 12" x 4 1/4" of designer series paper and scored it on the long side at 4 and 8".  Then I cut the angle off one of the sides and used tear and tape adhesive to attach it to make the pocket.

Next, I added more tear and tape adhesive around the outside and added my cotton ribbon before decorating the front.

Supplies:
Super Duper
Emerald Envy, Pacific Point, Tip Top Taupe markers
Tip Top Taupe, Whisper White card stock
Party Animal dsp
2 1/2" circle punch

Here't to a Great...

Last week I shared a couple cards where I had punched out a circle and placed something behind it, well, I must have had that on the brain for awhile because here is one more!  I used the same punch - the 2 1/2" circle punch and placed some Sending Love glassine sheets behind it.

The trim on the Pool Party is stamped with the Delicate Details stamp set (SAB 2017) and the sentiment is from Better Together.  I added an In color doily and some Sending love embellishments to complete the card.

Supplies:
Better Together, Delicate Details (SAB 2017)
Tip Top Taupe, Real Red ink
So Saffron, Pool Party card stock

I wanted to pair the butterflies in the Falling in Love designer series paper with the butterflies in the Watercolor Wings stamp set and chose to do it with the Custom Tee stamp set and matching T-shirt framelits.

I added some Sweet Sugarplum glimmer paper from the Sale-a-bration glimmer paper packet and some kraft rope trim that I unraveled.

Tin of cards, Watercolor Wings, Custom Tee
Sweet Sugarplum, Tip Top Taupe ink
Very Vanilla, Soft Suede card stock

Floral Birthday

When I first saw the Floral boutique designer series paper in the catalog I wasn't sure I wanted to use it, I am not sure if it is because there aren't more colors in it or if it was for another reason.  Eventually I tried it out though because I really love the coordinating stamp set called Floral Phrases and now I am not sure why I didn't like it before, LOL!  I combined both the designer series paper and the stamp set on the birthday card below.

On the background I again used the Delicate Details (SAB 2017) stamp set and then added some flowers from the Floral Phrases set on the die cut label.  The sentiment is from the retired stamp set called Tin of Cards.

Supplies:
Tin of Cards, Floral Phrases, Delicate Details (SAB 2017)
Pool Party, Night of Navy ink

Plum and Slate

I don't know if I have used the colors on this card in combination before, but I really like how they work together.  Smoky Slate and Perfect Plum were the colors I added to the Whisper White card base.

Then I stamped the Happy on another piece of Whisper White and colored in the space around the words with a Smoky Slate marker and popped it up on the card base.

Finally, I added part of a paper doily and some Pompom trim for a little texture.

Supplies:
Happy Celebrations
Smoky Slate, Perfect Plum, Basic Black ink
Whisper White card stock
Pompom trim

For You

I really love the two sided lace doilies that are in the Occasions catalog!  On one side it is Very Vanilla and the other is Whisper White so you can used them with all the different designer series paper packs no matter what base color is in them.

For this card, I started with a piece of So Saffron card stock and then punched a 2 1/2" circle from one corner.  I added a lace doily and piece of Tip Top Taupe card stock behind the hole.  Then I added some Cupcakes and Carousels designer series paper and some Sale-a-bration 3/8" metallic ribbon.

To complete it, I added a sentiment from Thoughtful Branches that was punched out with the 1 1/2" circle punch and some metallic enamel shapes as accents.

Supplies:
Thoughtful Branches
Bermuda Bay ink
So Saffron, Tip Top Taupe, Very Vanilla card stock
3/8" metallic ribbon (SAB 2017)
2 1/2" and 1 1/2" circle punches
lace doily
metallic enamel shapes

May Your Love

I was playing around with the Floral Phrases stamp set awhile back and came up with a few different ideas.  On this card, I paired it with the Falling in Love designer series paper and a lace doily.

I think I would probably use Tip Top Taupe or Crumb Cake for my sentiment layer next time instead of the Soft Suede so it doesn't look quite so dark.  The picture actually makes it look darker that it is if it is in your hand though.

I added a few basic pearls to complete the card as well.

Supplies:
Floral phrases
Sweet Sugarplum, Soft Suede ink
Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Pool Party card stock
lace doily
Falling in love dsp

In My Thoughts

I generally stay away from most things glittery just because I don't like the mess, but I do enjoy using the glimmer paper once in awhile so it was nice to see Stampin' Up! come out with a glimmer paper pack in the second set of Sale-a-bration products that are available.

I used a strip of the Mint Macaron glimmer paper on this card behind the layer of Whisper White that is popped up with dimensionals.

Supplies:
Thoughtful Branches
Basic Black, Old Olive ink
Crumb Cake, Whisper White card stock
Glimmer paper pack (SAB 2017)

February Paper Pumkin Alternative Idea

Last month's Paper Pumpkin kit had the supplies to make these cute pull out candle cards...

My daughter made a few of these and then I was able to get the rest of the kit away from her to play with other ideas!

I chose to make another scrapbook layout and I kept the pull out option to use for journaling.

I stamped a bunch of Happy Birthdays on the bottom of the page and added some Whisper White mini pom pom trim with tear and tape adhesive.

Below is the pull out, the kit contained these little party invites you could add to the pullout so I thought the page could be to remember a party.

Don't forget, this is the best time to purchase a subscription of Paper Pumpkin because you can earn FREE Sale-a-bration products for doing it!
