Dad

I realized I hadn't used the Urban District stamp set for a Father's Day card yet so before it retires I wanted to do that.  This one uses Crumb Cake, Dapper Denim and Early Espresso card stock colors.

I randomly stamped the D,A, and D on the Dapper Denim and the added my other elements.  You will notice a familiar embossed hexagon shape on this card, I used another a few days ago...It is cut out with the Build it framelits and embossed with the Hexagons dynamic folder (one of my favorites!).

To complete the card I added a few Urban underground embellishments.

Hexagon Sympathy

I really love the soft patterns and colors in the Falling in Love designer series paper that is in the Occasions catalog (and retiring!!) and thought it would work well for some sympathy cards.

I chose to add a layer of designer series paper in the background and a matted one on top of it.  Then I took a die cut hexagon and embossed it with the Hexagons dynamic folder and added it behind the sentiment which is also on designer series paper.

Supplies:
Better Together
Early Espresso ink
Very Vanilla, Soft Sky, Early Espresso card stock
Hexagons dynamic folder

Bride To Be

Another bridal shower card today!  This one uses the Custom Tee and T-Shirt Builder framelits bundle along with some Falling Love designer series paper.  I kept it fairly simple, but am thinking I should maybe add a little more...maybe a doily or some more stamped flowers...

To add a little texture, I placed some basic pearls on the card (I am sure going to miss those! - retiring!)...

The Light You Shine

I had a piece of the Cupcakes and Carousels designer series paper laying around and thought it would work well with the lighthouse and sentiment I wanted to use from the High Tide stamp set.

I stamped the lighthouse first and then added the sentiment before stamping the sand around it.  Then I took the card base and continued the sand, added water and birds.

There are a lot of different images on the card, but truthfully it came together quickly, that is always a good thing!

Simple Birthday

I apologize for the days without posts...there may be more.  This time of year my "real" job  keeps me away from the stamp room while we ship out seed potatoes.  For times like this I like to get a few simple cards created and shared - today's is one of those!

I used the Big on Birthdays stamp set and stamped my image with Early Espresso ink.  Then I used my Wild Wasabi, Wisteria Wonder and Perfect Plum markers to color in the flowers and leaves.

A few colorful enamel shapes completed the card.

Supplies:
Big on Birthdays

For the Bride

Today I am sticking with the Bundle I used on yesterday's card that involves the Jar of Love stamp set and Everyday Jars framelits.  This time I added a couple pieces die cut from the Stitched Shapes framelits as well and the Cheers to Love stamp set.

I was trying to design a few bridal shower cards and thought it would be fun to do one with a jar containing hearts.  The Stitched Shapes framelits die cut circles were leftover from another project and I thought they would be nice accents along with the background Succulent Garden designer series paper.

Supplies:
Jar of Love, Cheers to Love
Flirty Flamingo, Sweet Sugarplum, Tip Top Taupe ink
Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe card stock
Glimmer paper pack (SAB 2017)

You're So Sweet

There are always some designer series paper collections that I wish would stick around for a little longer and the Tasty Treats specialty paper is one of them.  Unfortunately, it will be gone soon so I wanted to share another project idea using it.

I started with a jar stamped and die cut on Whisper White card stock, then I stamped the same jar on the specialty paper and used my paper snips to cut out only the inside and added it to the first jar.  A little Peekaboo Peach ruched ribbon, a bow from the Cupcakes and Carousels embellishment kit and a retired rhinestone completed the jar.

The sentiment is from the You're So Sweet stamp set, I just used part of one of the images instead of all of it.

Supplies:
You're So Sweet, Jar of Love
Basic Black, Watermelon Wonder ink
Whisper White, Crumb Cake card stock
Tasty Treats specialty paper
tea lace doily
Cupcakes and Carousels embellishment kit
Peekaboo Peach ruched ribbon

Urban District Birthday

I used the Urban District stamp set and Urban Underground specialty paper and embellishments to make my dad a birthday card.  Today is his birthday so I thought I would share it with you.

There are several different layers of the specialty paper on the front layered on top of Basic Black card stock.  I added some of the embellishments for accents as well.

On the inside, I used another stamp from the same set along with a past Paper Pumpkin stamp set (Happy Birthday) and added a little more specialty paper.

Supplies:
Urban District
Delightful Dijon, Basic Black ink
Very Vanilla, Basic Black card stock
Urban Underground specialty paper

He is not Here

Today' card stays in theme with the Egg cartons from yesterday - Easter.  I used the same stamp set called Easter Message which is in the Occasions catalog.  I die cut an oval with the Stitched Shapes framelits and stamped the lily image.  It is colored with the Wink of Stella glitter brush and Crushed Curry and Pear Pizzazz markers.

The strip of polka dotted paper is from the Neutrals collection designer series paper stack.

Supplies:
Easter Messages
Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Pear Pizzazz ink

Mini Egg Cartons

I decided to decorate some mini egg cartons for my nieces for Easter and filled them with some fun surprises.  Each one is different, but they all have wrap around bands using designer series paper.

The first uses some Blooms and Bliss designer series paper and some retired lace trim.  The sentiment on all of them comes from the Easter Message stamp set.

The next one uses some Succulent Garden designer series paper along with a paper doily and gold binder clip.

Lastly, I used some Fruit Stand designer series paper, a lace doily, die cut hexagon (from the Build it framelits) and some pompom trim.

Supplies:
Easter Message
Watermelon Wonder, Sweet Sugarplum, Dapper Denim ink
Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso, Pool Party card stock
mini egg cartons
3/8" metallic ribbon

Mini Gift Bags

Aren't these little bags adorable?  I recently made a few with some friends and the idea for them came from Angie Juda - you can see her post here.  I altered the closure a little big on mine and changed the designer series paper but the rest is basically the same.

I wanted to make something a little bit bigger as well so I started out with a piece of 8" x 12" designer series paper and scored at 2" on the short side and 2", 5 3/4", 7 3/4" and 11 1/2".

I again added a gold binder clip to close the bag, but also placed a folded doily under the clip and added a little bow from the Cupcakes and Carousels embellishment kit.

Supplies:
Blooms and Bliss, Suite Sentiments
Blushing Bride, Sweet Sugarplum, Tip Top Taupe ink

March Paper Pumpkin and Alternative Ideas

It has taken me awhile to share the March Paper Pumpkin projects with you because I didn't take the time to sit down and play with them right away.  My daughter actually opened the box and started creating the day it arrived though!

These adorable bunny bags are the original project in the kit along with some small notecards.

Instead of making the notecards, I cut them in two pieces and used them as accents on larger cards in combination with the Playful Backgrounds and Super Duper stamp sets.

The flower on the card on the left below uses some bunny ears for a flower and I used the little tail as the center.

Supplies:
March 2017 Paper Pumpkin Kit
Playful Backgrounds, Super Duper
Sweet Sugarplum, Peekaboo Peach, Bermuda Bay, Dapper Denim ink
Very Vanilla, Dapper Denim, So Saffron card stock

April Stamp Club Projects

These are the Stamp Club projects that my monthly group put together for April.  We used quite a bit of Cupcakes and Carousels designer series paper - on the layout and one of the cards as well as a little bit of Tasty Treats specialty paper.

The first card uses Big on Birthday as the stamp set and some Calypso Coral ink.

Next, a little thank you card using the Stitched Shapes framelits and Large Polka Dot folder...

Finally, the layout with randomly placed squares and strips of Cupcakes and Carousels designer series paper and So Saffron and Early Espresso picture mats.

You're Still Pretty

I don't make a lot of cards that have funny sentiments (if that is how you would classify this one, I am not sure) and I definitely did not get the Big on Birthdays stamp set for the sentiment in this card, but thought I would use it on a couple.

I started with some Party Animal designer series paper and then just layered all my matted piece on a card base of Tip Top Taupe.  The Happy Birthday and Pretty sentiments are popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

Supplies:
Big on Birthdays
Emerald Envy, Basic Black ink

All About Me

The layout below uses the same elements as the card I showed you yesterday - Cupcakes and Carousels designer series paper and the Carousel Birthday stamp set.

I added a few basic rhinestones for accents as well.  The layout was quick to put together after I had the strips cut from my designer series paper.  I just randomly put them on in alternating angles.

Big Top Celebrations

I was recently at a stamping and scrapbooking retreat and I always like to share a little something with the people that attend.  This time the theme was "Life's a Circus" and thought it would be fun to make some cards using the Carousel Birthday stamp set and the Cupcakes and Carousels designer series paper.  There were several versions of the card, this happens to be one of them.

For this card, I also added some Fabulous Foil designer acetate and my tent is stamped on a die cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits.

Bright Birthday

I made a few Happy Birthday cards with the Happy Celebrations stamp set a few days ago using shades of yellow and some Watermelon Wonder for my sentiments.

I chose Crushed Curry, Daffodil Delight and So Saffron for the circle images and stamped several times before reinking to get different shades.  The "Happy" was stamped on a scrap of Whisper White and I cut it out with my scissors before adding it with Stampin' dimensionals.

Supplies:

Watermelon Wonder, Crushed Curry, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight ink
