Happy Birthday

As I experimented with the Happy Birthday thinlit on this card, I decided that I need to cut it from darker card stock colors in the future...It just doesn't pop out quite enough on top of the paper lace doily.

In the background of the card, I used some Bundle of Love specialty paper and Gold Foil paper and then added some glitter enamel dots as accents.

Supplies:
Night of Navy, Crumb Cake card stock
Bundle of Love specialty paper

Christmas Treat Box

I decided to play with the Clear Tiny Treat boxes again, this time using a Christmas theme and my favorite designer series paper from the Holiday catalog - Merry Music specialty paper.

I wrapped the paper around the box and then added a couple of Stitched felt embellishments on the front.  Then, I took a piece of Real Red card stock and embossed it with the Quilt top textured folder and attached it to the top of the box, adding another Stitched felt embellishment and a Christmas around the world embellishment as well.

The embellishments are all added with glue dots and the paper are attached with Tear and tape adhesive.

Lighthouse

I was creating some non sentiment cards one day and thought the High Tide stamp set would be a good option for a few.  I added some designer paper from the Delightful Daisy collection behind the lighthouse image to break up the card a little and the washi tape is from the Soft Sayings card kit.

I chose to use Smoky Slate and Tranquil Tide ink for the lighthouse colors and the birds are stamped with Basic Gray ink.

Supplies:
High Tide
Tranquil Tide, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray ink
Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla card stock

Wood Textures Sympathy

Today's card is a simple one that could really be embellished to add more texture if you wanted to.  I started with a piece of Wood textures designer series paper and stamped the flourish on it from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set with Soft Suede ink.

Behind the designer series paper, I added a retired doily and then a strip of retired Lost Lagoon card stock holds the sentiment on the front.

Supplies:
Better Together, Flourishing Phrases
Soft Suede ink
Sweet Sugarplum, Lost Lagoon card stock

Be Merry Kit

The final sneak peek project for the week involves one of the All Inclusive kits in the Holiday catalog called Be Merry.  It makes 12 rosette ornaments that you can hang on your tree or use as little gifts or even as gift tags.  Below you will see the video Stampin' Up! has put together to show you how to create the ornaments.

They have put this kit together to make it quite easy to complete, you will need a glue gun, Fine tip glue pen and Stampin' dimensionals along with what is provided.  The rosettes are pre-scored and also have adhesive for you to just remove the backing and attach one side to the other.

This was a fun way to spend an hour or so last week and one way to use a little glitter without a whole lot of mess.  (Glitter is generally something I don't use often for that reason!)

Supplies:
Be Merry Kit
glue gun
fine tip glue pen
Stampin' dimensionals

August Paper Pumpkin Layout

This is the final alternative project I will share using the August Paper Pumpkin kit although remember, you can use the stamp set and ink for long after the rest of the pieces in the kit are gone!

I began with a 12" x 12" piece of Peekaboo Peach card stock and then did some stamping on it with the set in the kit.  The kit comes with Night of Navy ink and I also used Peekaboo Peach and Old Olive, Peekaboo Peach and Calypso Coral markers.

One of the mats for a picture is a card front that is cut down and then mounted on some Whisper White, the other mat is Whisper White mounted on Calypso Coral card stock and I have added at 8 1/2" square piece of Night of Navy behind that.

The tag makes a nice little spot for journaling and I added a title using the Just Add Text stamp set.

Hope you enjoyed the different ideas!

August Paper Pumpkin Mini Pizza Box

The first alternative Paper Pumpkin idea I have for you involves a mini pizza box - these adorable little 31/2 "x 31/2 " boxes are food safe and are also the right size to store 3" x 3" cards and envelopes or a little gift. They are in the Holiday catalog along with the return of 3" x 3" envelopes!

I cut down the front of one of the cards in the kit and used it on the top and sides of the pizza box before decorating.  The sentiment is actually from a previous Paper Pumpkin kit stamp set.  They always seen to come in handy!

Stay tuned for another alternative idea tomorrow!  In the meantime you can sign up for your own kit to arrive next month by going here.  AND if you are a new Paper Pumpkin customer, your first kit will be half off!

August Paper Pumpkin

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit came at a great time for me - a few days before we start wheat harvest and I get into my combine for awhile.  That means I had time to play with it right away!  Today I am going to share the projects the way they were designed and the next two days I will show you a couple fun alternative ideas for the kit.

There is a box with a clear lid to hold 8 cards and envelopes as well as a cut little tag and ribbon to put around the box for gift giving.

Above are the cards that were intended to be made with the kit (well almost the same, I did turn the one on the right onto its side...).

And below is an alternative card idea that uses a piece of Night of Navy card stock and a paper doily (which don't come in the kit).

While the kits are always a surprise, they are so much fun to play with whether you like the ideas or not.  It is lots of fun trying to come up with other ideas for the pieces!  If you sign up for your first kit before September 10th, you can get your first kit for half off!  This offer is only for those who have never tried Paper Pumpkin before.

You can sign up right here!

Peace Joy and Love

This week is going to be full of more sneak peek Holiday catalog projects as well as some August Paper Pumpkin ideas.

There is some really fun specialty paper in the Holiday catalog called Merry Music, it is lightweight and has 24 sheets 4 different designs (so lots to play with!) and I chose to use some on this card along with the Musical Season Bundle (Musical Season stamp set and Musical Instruments framelits).

I started off by using an aqua painter and some Dapper Denim ink on Watercolor paper.  Next, I stamped my sentiment and images with Fresh Fig ink and then stamped and cut out the musical instruments.

I added a few rhinestones in my last step.

Dapper Denim card stock
Watercolor paper

Sheet Music Note Set

I was really happy to see the addition of Acetate Card Boxes in the Holiday catalog.  They are perfect to use for gifts of cards (and of course other things too) and you can fit at least 5 standard cards and envelopes in each one.  This box contains 6 cards and envelopes so it depends on how many layers you are using on each card.

I wrapped the box with some Painted Autumn designer series paper and added some Venetian lace trim around it for decoration.

The cards in the box also used some Painted Autumn designer series paper along with the Treble Clef die cut from the Musical Instruments framelits.

Supplies:
Sheet Music, Flourishing Phrases
Soft Suede, Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz ink
Very Vanilla card stock
linen thread

Flourishing Sympathy

The card I have to show you today doesn't use any sneak peek Holiday catalog items.  It is just a fairly simple sympathy card using the Better Together and Flourishing Phrases stamp sets. I have seen several used in a similar way on Pinterest and thought I would put one of my own together.

I chose Peekaboo Peach ink for the flourish in the background and stamped the image twice but only inked one time.

To add a little texture, I added some enamel dots randomly and on part of the flourish image as well.

Supplies:
Better Together, Flourishing Phrases
Early Espresso, Peekaboo Peach ink
Whisper White, Pool Party card stock

Painted Harvest

There is a stamp set called Painted Harvest in the Holiday catalog (and it pairs with the Painted Autumn designer series paper).  I really like the water colored images and the sentiments in the set and used it on today's card.

I started out stamping the flower with Sweet Sugarplum ink and then took the flower that is just a little bit smaller and stamped it over the top with Fresh Fig.  The center of the flowers are stamped with Crushed Curry ink.

I also added a little bit of Wood textures designer series paper and some Venetian lace trim behind the sentiment.

Supplies:
Painted Harvest
Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide, Sweet Sugarplum, Crushed Curry ink
Very Vanilla, Tranquil Tide card stock

I paired it with the Painted Autumn designer series paper and chose to use the Quilt top textured folder on the card base.

Be Merry

The Holiday catalog project I have to share with you today uses the Christmas around the world designer series paper pack along with the Every Good Wish stamp set and Stitched felt embellishments.  There are several Christmas themed designer series paper packs and there is another one that actually coordinates with the Stitched felt embellishments, but I decided to mix the collections up a bit on this card.

I stamped in Real Red and Night of Navy ink and chose those colors along with Whisper White for the card stock colors.

Supplies:
Every Good Wish

Spookly-Licious Box

Continuing with the sneak peek projects...I again used the Spooky Night designer series paper, this time to decorate a clear tiny treat box.

For the front of the box, I stamped my sentiment from The Little Things on Pumpkin Pie card stock and punched it with the 2" circle punch.  Then I stamped it again on Very Vanilla and cut out the banner, popping that piece up on the Pumpkin Pie circle.

The boxes are super cute and would be great treat holders for Halloween or any other occasion.
