Musical Joy Star

Here is another version of the wooden star project I shared with you awhile ago, instead of stamping, I chose to use die cut letters on this one and layered some Merry Music specialty paper over some Smoky Slate card stock.

I added some green sprigs, a mini ornament, 7/8" striped ribbon and some adhesive rhinestones as well.

Supplies:
Pink Pirouette, Smoky Slate card stock
Merry Music specialty paper
Basic rhinestones
Large letters framelits
7/8" striped ribbon

You're Delightful

Sometimes, it is great to be able to use designer series paper that is intended for Christmas in another way, especially if you end up with a bunch of it leftover one year...On this card, I used a little bit of the Merry Little Christmas collection underneath a piece from the Whole Lot of Lovely collection.

The stamp set is called You're Delightful and is a hostess set and the little wooden flower is a leftover piece of a Paper Pumpkin kit.

Supplies:
You're Delightful
Soft Suede, Old Olive ink
Powder Pink, Soft Suede, Whisper White card stock

September and October Paper Pumpkin

Since I have already shared an alternative project for the September Paper Pumpkin kit, I thought maybe I should actually share the projects the kit intended :)  There were some adorable pillow boxes and 3" x 3" cards and envelopes...

The accessories were pretty fun to play with as well with different leaves, clothespins and baker's twine...

I will most likely have more alternative projects to come...

And since I have been so far behind I am going to share the October kit projects with you today as well.  This is a really fun card kit for Christmas using window sheets and sequins.

Sometime in the near future I will have a few alternative ideas for this kit as well.

If you think these projects look like fun and would like to try one out, be sure to purchase yours before November 10th!  You can do so right here...

Eastern Thoughts

Today I have another "You're in My Thoughts" card using different colors and the same stamp from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set.  I chose Dapper Denim for the card base and used some Eastern Palace Specialty paper patterns to go on top of that.

This is really a very simple card to put together and would be easy to use for just about any sentiment.

Supplies:
Thoughtful Branches
Tranquil Tide ink
Dapper Denim, Very Vanilla card stock
Eastern Palace specialty paper

Stampin' Blends

Starting November 1st, you will have another new product line to choose from!  Stampin' Up! has brought us alcohol markers called Stampin' Blends - most colors have a light and dark shade marker to coordinate and shade your coloring projects.

I thought I would just kind of scribble a background for the Happy Birthday thinlit on this card and I will show you some actual image coloring another time.  For those of you who like to color, these are a really nice option.  There is a video below for you to see a little more about them.

I added some images from the Super Duper stamp set around the balloons (balloon punch) and die cut on the front of this card because I thought it was a little too plain without it.

Supplies:
Super Duper
Night of Navy ink
Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy, Whisper White card stock
Happy Birthday thinlit
Balloon punch
Stampin' Blends alcohol markers

In My Thoughts

I realize I haven't shared the completed projects from the September Paper Pumpkin kit with you as of yet, but today I have an alternative idea using part of the kit.  I cut down the pillow boxes and added them to some cards along with two different patterns from the Painted Autumn designer series paper pack.

You can see that there is an embossed image on the kraft piece from the Paper Pumpkin kit - it came that way - embossed on both sides of the pillow box so I was able to use both sides on cards as well.

The sentiment is from Thoughtful Branches and is stamped with Tranquil Tide ink on both samples.

For the second option, I chose a different pattern of the designer series paper and a smaller piece as well.  The leaves added as an accent are also part of the Paper Pumpkin kit.

Layered Leaves

One of my favorite things to use in the Big Shot is the 3D dynamic textured impressions folders because they leave such a great impression on the card stock.  The one used on this card is called  Layered Leaves and is in the Catalog and Idea Book on page 211.

I paired it with the Oh So Eclectic stamp set and Stitched Shapes framelits for another card without a sentiment.

Supplies:
Oh So Eclectic
Wild Wasabi, Crushed Curry ink
Wild Wasabi, Crushed Curry, Whisper White card stock

Cups of Cheer

In playing around with the Spooky Night designer series paper and the Coffee Cups framelits, I came up with these very similar cards one day.  Each uses the same pattern of designer series paper and has a die cut square in the background made with the Stitched shapes framelits.

The sentiments are from the Merry Café stamp set and I added them in a different way on each card.

The card below uses the Everyday label punch for the sentiment although I cut one end straight.

I just love the tiny coffee cup framelit so I die cut that in Basic Black ink and then stamped the sentiment on Very Vanilla, cut it out and added it to the cup.

Supplies:
Merry Café
Pumpkin Pie ink
Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede, Smoky Slate card stock
Stitched Shapes framelits
Coffee Cup framelits

Sponged Sympathy

Sometimes I find it difficult to come up with new ideas for sympathy cards and I had recently seen a few sponged cards using the High Tide stamp set so I thought I would put something together using that.

I cut a circle out with the Layering circles framelits on scrap paper and used it for my mask, then sponged Soft Sky, Marina Mist and Dapper Denim ink inside the circle before adding some stamped elements.

Supplies:
Trust God, Better Together, High Tide
Dapper Denim, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist ink
Early Espresso, Whisper White card stock

For a Special Couple

The card I am going to share with you today has a couple different layouts although they are very similar.  Each one uses the Wood Textures designer series paper  as a background and some Bundle of Love specialty paper as well as a doily and pearls.

The sentiments are from the Special Occasions stamp set and I also added some lace trim for more texture.

Supplies:

Junior High Football

I love scrapbooking the sports composite pictures, the are so much easier to do a quick page with since the title and layout on the 8" x 10" does a lot of the work for you.

I added it to a 12" x 12" Basic Black card stock and matted the photo on Whisper White.  For some accents I added some 7/8" striped ribbon and a piece of Crushed Curry that I die cut some designs from using the Eclectic Layers thinlits.

Supplies:
Basic Black, Crushed Curry, Whisper White card stock

October Stamp Club Projects

Well, the harvest finally caught up to me last week with no time to post any projects for you.  I can't guarantee it won't happen again even though we are finished with harvest.  There is still a lot of post harvest work to get done so we will see if I can keep up!

These are the projects we used for Stamp Club this month...the layout uses the Musical Instruments thinlits, Merry Music specialty paper and Quilted Christmas designer series paper.

The fall card uses the Colorful Seasons stamp set on glossy card stock and the foil leaf is from the September Paper Pumpkin kit.

Finally the Cup card uses the You've Got This stamp set in the background and Merry Café for the sentiment.  I chose to use the Merry Little Christmas card stock pack for the cup and added some Year of Cheer specialty paper and a foil snowflake.

If you think these projects look fun and would like to join us, contact me here for more details!

Birthday Blues

I was playing around with colors again using the Painted Harvest stamp set.  This time around I chose Dapper Denim and Island Indigo ink along with Soft Suede for the middle of the flower.

A few of the cards I did were without sentiment and a few were Happy Birthday using the Special Occasions stamp set.

I also added a few glitter enamel dots as accents and for some texture.

Celebrate

I was randomly going through some scraps when I put this card together, thinking it would be a good masculine birthday card - and I need a lot of those...

It started with two patterns of the Eastern Palace specialty paper and a die cut circle that was cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits.  Then I added the sentiment from Happy Celebrations and put it all together.

Supplies:
Happy Celebrations

Sorry

I have already shown you a card using the same two stamp sets as I have used on this one - Sorry for Everything and Background Bits.  This one is a little bit different using different colors and some different designer series paper.

I chose to start with a Pool Party background and added Delightful Daisy designer series paper.  The flowers in the background are stamped with Peekaboo Peach ink.

Supplies:
Sorry for Everything, Background Bits
Basic Gray, Peekaboo Peach ink
Pool Party, Smoky Slate card stock

Bloomin' Heart Congratulations

When thinking about creating some wedding cards recently, I decided to pair the Sweetheart folder and the Bloomin' Heart thinlit.  This actually covers up the heart impression on the Sweetheart folder, but I like the rest of the embossing as well.

My sentiments come from the Cheers to the Years and Special Celebrations stamp sets and are stamped with Bermuda Bay ink.  The accent flowers are retired and were recently on the clearance rack.

Supplies:
Cheers to the Years, Special Celebrations
Bermuda Bay ink
Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay card stock
Bloomin' Hearts thinlit
Sweetheart folder
Bermuda Bay chevron ribbon

Pocket of Flowers

This is another of those sentiment free cards...it could be used to cheer someone up, for a birthday, a hello or for lots of other things and the sentiment may be added later or left blank.  I started with the Pocket Full of Sunshine stamp set and coordinating Pocket framelits dies.  The pocket is cut from some Naturally Eclectic designer series paper.

I stamped the outline of the flowers with Fresh Fig ink and then used the stamp to color in with Berry Burst and Daffodil Delight.  The little images around the pocket are in Pool Party and are from the Oh So Eclectic stamp set.  Finally, I added some metallic shapes to the pocket for accents.

Supplies:
Oh So Eclectic, Pocket full of Sunshine
Tranquil Tide, Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight, Pool Party and Fresh Fig ink
