Here for You

We are keeping in what might be the theme of the week today - simple cards with layers.  I chose to use more colors of card stock today than in the card I shared yesterday and like the finished look better I think.

My base is Sweet Sugarplum and I used Pool Party to mat the designer series paper and sentiment.  There is some metallic thread and Sweet Sugarplum ruched ribbon behind the sentiment for accents as well.

Supplies:
Sending Thoughts
Sweet Sugarplum ink
Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party, Whisper White card stock
Succulent Garden dsp
Sweet Sugarplum ruched ribbon

Blue Sympathy

Today's card has lots of layers but not a lot of complexity.  I considered making the card over replacing the Whisper White with Crumb Cake or another neutral color to see if that makes it look better but I haven't tried it yet... soon...

I used some Floral Boutique designer series paper and layered it onto some Cherry Cobbler card stock before adding a strip of burlap ribbon over the top of that.

Supplies:
Heartfelt Sympathy, Flourishing Phrases
Night of Navy ink
Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy card stock
burlap ribbon

Showers of Happiness

As I mentioned earlier this week, I was working on some various bridal shower cards recently and this is another sample, this time I chose to use the Detailed Floral thinlit dies as my focus.  I cut the pieces from the card base and added a piece of So Saffron card stock behind it with rolled up glue dots so that it was popped up just a little bit.

I again used the Moon Baby stamp set for the sentiment (quite a handy set to have around!) and added some Sending Love embellishments and some basic pearls as accents.

Supplies:
Moon Baby
Basic Black ink
Very Vanilla, So Saffron card stock
Sending Love embellishments
basic pearls

Hello Baby

I have shared several cards using the Moon Baby stamp set, but I haven't used the image on the card below just yet.  It was fun playing with backgrounds from the Cupcakes and Carousels designer series paper pack to coordinate with the cards.

I also added a piece of corrugated paper for some texture and to break up the design on the paper a little bit. The stars are colored in with the Wink of Stella glitter brush to add a little sparkle as well.

Supplies:
Moon Baby
Basic Black, Sahara Sand, Crumb Cake, So Saffron ink and markers
Wink of Stella glitter brush
Very Vanilla, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake card stock

Bridal Shower

I had to put together a few different bridal shower cards for a customer recently and was trying to think of new ways to use the stamps I had on hand.  This is one of them that I came up with using the ombre background of a piece of By the Shore designer series paper.

I used the Cheers to Love, Better Together and Sealed with Love stamp sets and added a lace doily and some lace trim.

There is truly nothing fancy about it, but I thought it came together pretty well in the end.

Supplies:
Cheers to Love, Better Together and Sealed with Love
Calypso Coral, Basic Black ink
Very Vanilla card stock
By the Shore dsp
lace doily
lace trim
2" circle punch

May Your Sorrow Be Eased

If you saw my blog post yesterday, you might notice a similar element on today's card.  I again pulled out the Hello Lovely Project Life accessory kit and picked out a wooden die cut flower to accent my card.

The background on this one uses a piece of Succulent Garden designer series paper and some corrugated paper.  My sentiments come from the Better Together stamp set.

Supplies:
Better Together
Soft Suede ink
Whisper White, Sweet Sugarplum, Pool Party card stock
corrugated paper

Make a Wish

The card I have to share with you today has very little stamping on it and uses mainly pieces from the Hello Lovely Project Life Accessory Pack.

The green die cut piece, which was already that way in the kit, has a layer of Serene Scenery designer series paper behind it and it is also popped up with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I stamped a dotted line below all my elements using the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set and Pool Party ink.

I love the Project Life kits and don't always use them for their intended purpose (which is ok!) and love it when I can put together a card quickly with some great texture and dimension like this one using a kit or two.

Perfectly Wrapped
Pool Party ink
Whisper White card stock

Happy 13

About a month ago, our middle child turned 13 and this is the card I made for him.  I know not to get too crazy and elaborate on cards for my boys because they don't really care what they look like (like most kids probably).

I chose a couple different patterns of designer series paper from the Tasty Treats specialty paper collection for the background.  Then I added a couple balloons punched out using the Balloon bouquet punch and added some linen thread to them.

I also added a balloon cut using the Balloon framelits and added the number using the Number of Years stamp set.  The sentiment is from another stamp set called Super Duper which is in the Occasions catalog.

Supplies:
Super Duper, Number of Years, Celebrate Today
Tip Top Taupe, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party ink
Whisper White, Tip Top Taupe, Soft Sky, Bermuda Bay, Pool Party card stock
linen thread
Balloon framelits dies
Balloon bouquet punch

Let Hope Be Your Lighthouse

This is another variation of a couple of cards I have made with the High Tide stamp set.  I chose to stamp the lighthouse and surrounding images on Tip Top Taupe card stock this time.

I added half a lace doily behind that layer and popped up my sentiment layer over the top.  The "With Sympathy" comes from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

Supplies:
High Tide, Flourishing Phrases
Wild Wasabi, Crumb Cake, Marina Mist, Early Espresso ink
Pool Party, Lost Lagoon, Tip Top Taupe card stock

Twinkle Twinkle

As promised I have a couple more Moon Baby samples for you today.  I again used some leftover Paper Pumpkin accessories (enamel stars) as embellishments because I thought they fit the theme perfectly!

The marker colors used on these cards are similar to yesterday - Pool Party, Daffodil Delight - but I chose to use Pacific Point and Old Olive for the baby clothing on these.

I also had some retired washi tape with stars on it that I thought would work well with the second card so I used a couple strips over the designer series paper.

For someone who doesn't enjoy coloring in images, I think this set will still get quite a bit of use!

Supplies:
Moon Baby
Basic Black, Pool Party, Blush Blossom, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point ink and markers
Whisper White, Smoky Slate, Old Olive card stock
washi tape
designer series paper
Paper Pumpkin kit accessories

Happy Day

I love the colors and designs in the Tasty Treats Specialty paper pack even though I don't intend to purchase the Cool Treats stamp set to go along with it (or the matching Frozen Treats Framelits dies) - at least not yet, LOL!  I decided that I wouldn't have enough use for those but we will see as time goes by I guess!

I chose a piece of the specialty paper as my focus on this card and added some Watermelon Wonder card stock behind it that was embossed with the Hexagons dynamic folder.

The sentiment is from the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set and I used the 2 3/8" scallop punch and 2" circle punch.

Supplies:
Perfectly Wrapped
Peekaboo Peach, Watermelon Wonder
Pool Party, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White card stock
Tasty Treats specialty dsp
hexagons dynamic folder
scallop circle punch 2 3/8"
circle punch 2"

Hearts and Lace

Another holiday card to share with you today using the Sealed with Love Bundle which includes the Love Notes framelits dies and the Sealed with Love stamp set.

I took a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" piece of Pink Pirouette card stock and die cut the hearts border on both sides.  Then, I scored one side right along the hearts on both sides and then scored 4 1/4" from the second score line to make sure the middle of the card was 4 1/4".  I glued down the heart border on the right side with snail adhesive.

On the inside I added a piece of Succulent Garden designer series paper and on the outside I used some Crumb Cake card stock with a stamped border, lace doilies, 3/8" metallic ribbon and a 2 1/2" and 2" circle.

The circles are only attached to the card base on the left side so the card can open properly.

Supplies:
Sealed with Love
Real Red ink
Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Real Red, Pink Pirouette card stock
Succulent Garden dsp
circle punches
lace doilies
3/8" metallic ribbon (SAB 2017)

He has Risen

I realize Easter is quite a ways off right now, but I thought I would share a card I made with the Easter Message stamp set anyway. The stamp set is new and is in the Occasions catalog on page 19.

I started with some Succulent Garden designer series paper in the background along with a piece of 3/8" metallic ribbon (SAB 2017).  Then I stamped my cross image on some Crumb Cake and colored it in with River Rock, Crumb Cake and the Wink of Stella Glitter brush.

Supplies:
Easter Message
Early Espresso, River Rock, Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum ink
Wink of Stella glitter brush
Crumb Cake, Perfect Plum, Old Olive, Whisper White, Pool Party card stock

Detailed Things

I generally tend to stay away from fussy detailed dies on my projects but that is one thing I am trying to start to use more.  The Die Brush definitely makes it easier to get all those fussy little pieces out once you run the die and paper through the Big Shot.

<a data-pin-do="buttonBookmark" data-pin-tall="true" data-pin-round="true" data-pin-save="false" href="https://www.pinterest.com/pin/create/button/"><img src="//assets.pinterest.com/images/pidgets/pinit_fg_en_round_red_32.png" /></a>

On this card I used the Detailed Floral thinlits on some Pear Pizzazz card stock and added some Fabulous Foil designer acetate between that layer and a piece of Sweet Sugarplum card stock.

The acetate is difficult to see in the pictures and maybe was a step I didn't really need on this one.

Supplies:
Layering Love
Sweet Sugarplum ink
Sweet Sugarplum, Pear Pizzazz, Crumb Cake, Whisper White card stock
3/8" metallic ribbon (SAB 2017)
Detailed floral thinlits
Fabulous foil designer acetate
