Wish Big

I just love Mary Jo's sketches, here is the one for this week.
I used the Autumn Spice Specialty paper, Chocolate Chip, Cajun Craze and Very Vanilla; Word Play and Vintage Vogue stamp sets and the top note.

Stamp Camp sneak peak part 1

I thought I would share some Stamp Camp things ahead of time this time around instead of after the fact!  The first picture is of a couple of the door prizes (although it will still be a surprise to see what fun things are inside!).  The cute purse tutorial came from Sandy Hancock and I will have to make more of these - so cute and fun!
The following two pictures are of the thank yous I made for this session.  I was inspired by Monika Davis's little owl notes that she made with the Two Tags die and thought I would mess around with the top note with the same concept.

Here is the inside with the post it notes.
I will send out another sneak peak of projects later this week - there is still time to sign up!

Floating Away

This is for a sketch challenge on Soul Scrappers, I added a few elements, but like the way it turned out.  The colors are Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery and Chocolate Chip.  I think this color combination may be something I have to use again :)

Funky Friday Craft Challenges had a color challenge this week using Chocolate Chip, Elegant Eggplant, Pale Plum and Certainly Celery.  I decided to go with a scrapbook page for that combination.

More back to school

Here is another back to school project that I put together.  The tin is an empty build a brad container and I just covered it with the Play Date Designer Series paper and some ribbon.  I love making the owls in the cork so I added one of those and then a tag from the First Day stamp set and filled it with some crayons.
Here is a side view.

Blueberry Crisp

I was disappointed when the Razzleberry Lemonade Designer Series paper retired at the end of June, but I do love the new colors we have with the same pattern which is now called Blueberry Crisp.  Here are a couple simple cards made with some of that paper.
I used the stamp set Word Play for both of these cards and on the first one - a punch that will be available in the Holiday mini catalog - Extra large decorative label.

and on the inside I just used a couple scraps to add color and give a lighter spot to write.
Another new punch that will come out September 1st of the Extra large 2 1/2 inch circle which I paired with the 1 3/4 inch circle on this card.

Word Play

This stamp set seems to one I grab a lot lately and I really like the sayings because there are some for scrapbook pages as well.  I did two cards CASEing Julie Pitta who is our featured stamper on our demonstrator community this week.

Both cards also feature the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series papaer

Back to School Fun

Our challenge at Late Night Stampers this week is back to school projects.  This is the first one I came up with for the week using the Play Date Designer Series paper.
I just covered this lunch tin with the paper and added some ribbon and buttons.

Some of the items inside.

and this is the top of the tin.

Builder Wheels birthday

I used the Birthday, Posy Party and Candle Crazy builder wheels along with a triple cell cartridge (inked with Rich Razzleberry, Soft Suede and Old Olive reinkers) and instead of using the whole "happy birthday to you", I cut it into pieces and used the Birthday part of a stamp in the Afterthoughts set as well.

CCMC112

I decided to try out the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary this week.  The colors were - Daffodil Deight, Pacific Point, Wild Wasabi, Bashful Blue and Basic Black and I found I was out of the Wild Wasabi card stock, so that color just ended up being the ink color on this one.  I used the new Scallop Square Duo Bigz Die that will be available in the Holiday Mini catalog and the Perfect Polka Dots and Vintage Wallpaper impressions folders as well.
The ribbon is 1/8 inch taffeta in Daffodil Delight and the stamp set is Occassional Quotes.

Happy Birthday

Just Add Ink has a color challenge for the week and it is a combination that I really love to put together.  Real Red, Kraft (Crumb Cake) and Chocolate Chip.
Supplies:
Kraft, Real Red, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White card stock
Kraft, Real Red and Chocolate chip classic inks and markers
Extreme Elements and Afterthoughts stamp sets
hemp twine
cordouroy buttons
real red polka dot ribbon

Moving collage

Once again a challenge page for Soul Scrappers.  I just love these Sweet pea felts and so glad they are in My Digital Studio!

Wall stamping

As another example of how to use stamps in a way different than they were intended for our Late Night Stampers Challenge this week, I played with the wall in my stamp room.
I stamped with Stazon ink and then colored in with markers.  I have texture on the wall so it isn't the most clean stamp, but it turned out ok.  I was thinking it might be fun to add a frame over the top to create the idea of a framed picture hanging there.

Walk on Eddie

This page was a challenge for VC Rocks to use new colors in a page.  It is done with My Digital Studio and the pictures are of Maddie during this year's hippotherapy with "my Julie".  That is her special name for her awesome therapist :)  Every Wednesday morning this summer when she woke up, she would say, "Mommy, is it Eddie day?" and when I told her yes she would reply, "YES!  I get to see MY JULIE!"

Cookie fun

One of the challenges we have this week at Late Night Stampers is to use our stamps or punches for things that were not their original intention.  My first project for the week - stamping on cookies :)

For this project, you do need to be sure to have clean stamps both before and after the process.

Here is the recipe I used, although I think just about any would work...
Sugar cookies
1 c. butter (no substitutes)          4 c. flour + 1 tsp. soda,
1 c. vegetable oil                       cream of tartar and salt
1 c. powdered sugar           almond or lemon extract to taste
1 c. white sugar

Mix in order given and roll into small balls.  Flatten on cookie sheet with the palm of your hand or glass dipped in sugar.  Bake at 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes.  Cool on rack or paper towel.

I just added the stamping step after flattening with my palm and added some colored sugar to make the image pop.

One of my kids didn't want the sugar on them so I made a couple without :)

Love Letter

Funky Friday Craft Challenges has anything but a square for the challenge this week...
I used the Love Letter Designer paper for this project and the Fancy Favor and Scallop Circles #2 dies with the Bigh Shot.  The ribbon on the front of the Fancy Favor bag is just made from Designer paper and I put an Antique brad in the middle to hold it.  There are a few bookmarks made from the Two Tags die inside the favor box and a little card to go along with it.

Bear Birthday

I used the  Diva Coffee Break Challenge sketch for this card.

Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla card stock

My Wheels

Just Add Ink has a challenge this week called Just Add Wheels....I thought I would make a page with my favorite "wheels" that I use every fall.  My 8 year old son took these pictures last night, he is still testing out the camera he received for his birthday in May.  The color pictures are actually of my dad in his combine and the sepia background is mine.

This is a really basic layout since I wanted to focus on the large sepia background.

Elements of Style

The first card I did for a Featured Stamper challenge, it is a CASE of a card made by Debbie Currier - I changed the stamp set and colors.
Colors: Marina Mist, Riding Hood Red, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Whisper White

This is just a quick and easy one I thought I would share along with the first one.
I colored in the flowers and leaves with Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery.  The card stock colors are Chocolate Chip, Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo and Whisper White

Altered top note thank you

The shape of the Basic Gray circle was made by using the Top Note die.  You run it through once and then turn it and run the top note piece through again and do it a couple more times to get this shape.

Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Whisper White card stock
versamark
clear embossing powder
cordouroy buttons
1/4 inch white grosgrain ribbon

Back to School

Here are some fun Back to School items.  I took the glass out of an 8 x 10 frame and covered the back part of the frame with Old Olive paper and added some stamping using Elementary Essentials (retired) and First Day stamp sets.
The middle is a piece of 5 x 7 aluminum roof flashing covered with Play Date Designer Series paper.  The
A + circle is a magnet and there is also a magnet behind the binder clip holding the sticky notes.
I made this for the Create with Connie and Mary challenge for the week.
I used one of the new Antique brads to hold a small piece of ribbon that the pen slides into and also added a cute little owl I made with the owl punch.
The tutorial for this cute little pencil holder comes from Inkspirations4you and I used the same First Day Stamp set along with Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla and Basic Black card stock along with the Newsprint Designer Series paper.
I will have some more fun Back to School projects for you in a couple weeks!

Lake scenes

This is my second sample for the week for the Late Night Stampers group.

200 Butterflies

It has been a crazy ride for me the last couple of weeks in the stamping world.  First, earning the design team honors for Late Night Stampers and Soul Scrappers, and then on August 4th, I woke up and checked my e-mail found Sherrill Graff's blog post that listed me as a finalist in her sample card contest!
Wow is all I can say.

Here is the card:
So as a finalist, I need to make 50 card fronts and send them to Sherrill in exchange for $350 in free Stampin' Up! merchandise of my choice from her.  Woo Hoo!  Pretty good deal in my opinion.

I will post a picture of the products I picked when they arrive - there are definitely some basic pearls in there :)

Since the weather hasn't been cooperating with us and I cannot be in my combine harvesting wheat, I have put some time in on the samples.

200 butterflies cut out with the Big Shot before the sponging

I think my fingers are permanently stained in Soft Suede :) although I am ready for assembly.

You can enter Sherrill's monthly sample contest too, just send a sample you made to:
