Stamp Camp projects

We had an awesome stamp camp last week and I thought I would share our projects.  There were 4 different cards and we showcased a few techniques - paper pleating, inlaid embossing, direct to paper, and shimmer.

We also used a few of the new In Colors, a triple layer punch and a new stamp set.  Thanks to Lisa and Sarah for a fun morning and thanks to those who were able to join us!!

Open Sea

I thought I better start using The Open Sea stamp set already instead of letting it sit around, especially knowing how many masculine cards I need throughout the year!

The ship is stamped on Very Vanilla textured card stock and I inked up the stamp with Early Espresso and then used a baby wipe to remove the ink from the water area and used my Not Quite Navy marker to add color again before I stamped.

Supplies:
The Open Sea
Nautical Expedition designer series paper
Soft Suede, Very Vanilla and Not Quite Navy card stock
Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Not Quite Navy ink and markers
dimensionals
sponges
silver brads

Red White and Blue

Our theme this week at Late Night Stampers is Red White and Blue.  I used some designer series paper that will come out in the new catalog at the end of the week called Just Add Cake as my background.  The daisies are stamped in Poppy Parade and the sentiment in Not Quite Navy.

I used the faux suede technique on the strip of Not Quite Navy on the right side before I scrunched it up.

Supplies:
Upsy Daisy stamp set
Whisper White, Not Quite Navy card stock
Just Add Cake DSP
bitty punches
2 1/2" circle punch
large oval punch
3" circle die
white gel pen

Another Shadow Box gift

After I finished the Shadow box I made for the UStamp with Dawn and Friends Worldwide Showcase blog hop, I decided to make another one for my niece that is getting married in July.  This one was also a shower present and I used their engagement picture too.

I always have trouble taking pictures of the projects that have glass on them so hopefully the following ones help you get a better idea of how it looked...

I used shimmer paper for the rose and embossed it with clear embossing powder over Early Espresso ink and versamark.  Then I added water and reinkers, but wasn't completely satisfied with the color so after it dried I added some sponging.

Their colors are Turquoise and Chocolate so I tried to go with that theme, it doesn't show up well, but on the right side I stamped the roses again and then used a sponge dauber to add some color with Champage Mist shimmer paint.
The grid pattern paper is actually some of the Love Letter designer series paper that I brayered Tempting Turquoise over.

The butterfiles also have some Champagne Mist shimmer paint and Early Espresso ink added to them as well as those awesome little pearls.

The stamp sets I used were Elements of Style and Manhattan flower and the Designer papers were Love Letter and Newsprint.

CCMC156

I put together a card using the retiring hostess set Fast and Fabulous for the Create  with Connie and Mary color challenge this week.

The flowers on the Whisper White card stock are stamped with Old Olive and then I applied Tangerine Tango to the petals with a blender pen.

Supplies:
Sincere Salutations, Fast and Fabulous stamp sets
Tempting Turquoise, Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Whisper White card stock
Tangerine Tango, Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise classic ink
Elegant Lines impressions folder
basic rhinestones
dimensionals

TSSC179

This is the card I did using Mary Jo's sketch this week.    I used Bashful Blue with Pacific Point, Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise and the stamp set Flower Fancy.

The strip of designer paper is from the Hostess collection Cheerful Treat and the sentiment is from Plane and Simple.

Delicate Doilies Box

I decided to order the Watercolor Wonder crayons new color kit since it is on the last chance accessories list and when it arrived I found out the little tins came packaged in a cute little box...perfect to fit standard size cards into!
So, I decided to decorate it to match the Delicate Doilies cards and envelopes showed you in this post and used it as part of a door prize at our Stamp Camp today.

A view from the top...I used the 3" and 3 1/2" circle dies and cut a Whisper White and a Pumpkin Pie circle and then ran both through the Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder.  Then, I cut out one of the doilies from the specialty paper and put them together with dimensionals and an Antique Brad.

The ribbon is 5/8" Regal Rose grosgrain and I sponged the edges of the box with White craft ink.

I really like the way it turned out and am sure glad I wound up with the box :)

Perfect Attendance

During the UStamp with Dawn and Friends Worldwide Showcase blog hop, we had a couple creative challenges, one with a picture as inspiration and another as a project as our inspiration.

This page was done using the picture as inspiration and I made a page for my boy's and their perfect attendance picture.  The designer paper is Celebrations and I also used lots of circle punches and then ran them through the Big Shot using the Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder.  There is also a part Top Note for a quick journaling area and a banner using the upcoming Petite Pennants Builder Punch.

Bug Birthday

Another sample for our Late Night Stampers group this week - animals or bugs on a card.  I used a piece of chipboard that had circle cut outs on it to mask some card stock and then sprayed it with a mixture of rubbing alcohol, Peach Parfait reinker drops and Champagne Mist shimmer paint.  After that dried I added the flies from the Nature Walk stamp set.

Supplies:
Nature Walk, Occasional Quotes stamp sets
So Saffron, Soft Suede, Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla card stock
Soft Suede classic ink
Peach Parfait reinkers
Champange mist shimmer paint
Cherry Cobbler seam binding
vintage trinkets
curly label punch

Delicate Doilies sneak peek

I made up a set of cards with the new Delicate Doilies stamp set and Flirtatious specialty designer series paper and matched some envelopes too.

I used Wisteria Wonder, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeaide and Island Indigo as my colors on these quick and easy cards.

I love the die cut doilies pages, they are so fun to cut out and layer.

This one I just did as a 1 layer card...

On the envelopes, I stamped on the front bottom left corners and then added some of the Flirtatious specialty designer paper to the flaps on the back.

In a few days I will share  the box I made to hold these fun cards!

More Journaling 101

These are a few more pages I made during the Journaling 10 course on Soul Scrappers.  I switched back and forth between digital and traditional for the course because that is actually what I do all the time.

Erika has a great course and you can go at your own pace, which is fantastic!

Simple Love and Care

I went to a color I don't use very often for this card - Tempting Turquoise and paired it with retired Orchid Opulence and Early Espresso.

This is another card that one could add a sentiment to later on the inside, but right now it is a blank one.  I added a little Vanilla Seam binding and dimensionals to complete the card.

Backyard creatures

Our Late Night Stampers challenge this week is cards with animals or bugs on them.  I thought I would make a birthday card using the Under the Stars set and showcase one of the creatures that likes to frequent our backyard lately.  I even caught him on our deck with his nose to our sliding glass door one night!

Supplies:
Under the Stars, Occasional Quotes stamp sets
Early Espresso and Crumb Cake classic ink
Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Wild Wasabi card stock
Petite Pennants builder punch
crimper
Square lattice impressions folder
word window punch
modern label punch
vintage trinkets

A little color

I was messing around with a direct to paper technique on this card, using ink pads directly on the card stock to form the background.

I used Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Calypso Coral for the background and Island Indigo for the stamping and the raised image of the flower.  The white spot in the middle of the flower is from a white gel pen.

These are some of the new In Colors that will be available in the new catalog.
The stamp set used is Flower Fest.

Flower Fest

I was playing with the new "In Colors" when I received my preorder awhile ago and wanted to use all the new colors on one card together.

The stamp set is Flower Fest and I also used the 2 1/2" circle punch and the 3" circle die.
New "In color" names are...
Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder, Lucky Limeaid, Island Indigo and Pool Party

CCMC155 and Color Inspiration 159

I decided to combine a couple challenges on this card using the Create with Connie and Mary sketch and the Stamping 411 color combination.

I used Extreme Skateboard, Grunge Rock and Extreme Elements stamp sets and the Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder, 3" circle die and the scallop oval frame die.

Normally, I would stamp before I use and impressions folder, but this time I did it afterward.  I also used some of the Presto Patterns specialty paper and sponged it with Not Quite Navy before I folded and stapled for a different look.

Hold My Hand

This winter and spring, I participated in a Journaling 101 class at Soul Scrappers and over the next few weeks I will be sharing some of the layouts I created for the class.

The layout uses some of the Sale-a-bration papers and accents and some retired Pacific Point ribbon.

Botanical Nature Walk

This card is one without a sentiment, for the moment I decided to keep it that way and if I go to use it it can always be added.

I really love the designs on the Botanical Gazette paper so I used that as my first layer and also as the layer I stamped on using the Nature Walk stamp set.

Supplies:
Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso card stock
Botanical Gazette dsp
Nature Walk stamp set
Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso and Always Artichoke classic ink
Cherry Cobbler seam binding
Curly label punch
brads

Wild Flower

Another Journaling 101 page, this one using lots of something I rarely pull out - glitter!  I covered some chipboard die cuts with crystal effects and added the chunky glitter to them.

Elements of Style

This is Mary Jo's sketch for the week...

I kind of flipped it on it's side and changed the circle into a butterfly :)

Supplies:
Elements of Style stamp set
Early Espresso, Whisper White and Marina Mist card stock
5/8" Marina Mist grosgrain ribbon
hemp twine
scallop edge punch
scallop oval punch
large oval punch
Beautiful Butterflies die
dimensionals
vintage trinkets
Square lattice impressions folder

Fun Flowers

I once again was playing with my Fun Flowers die on these cute little pails.  They were used as a couple centerpieces for a bridal shower for my sister-in-law.

I used the Springtime Vintage Fabric aloing with some Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze and Night of Navy card stock.  There are also silver brads, neutrals buttons, linen thread, Baja Breeze seam binding and Victoria crochet trim ribbon on the projects.

I spritzed the flowers with Vanilla Shimmer Smooch spritz as well, but that doesn't show up on the photos.  The flowers are stuck to cabob sticks with sticky strip.

June Stamp Club projects

The cards this month were inspired and CASED by some that were created by some of my fellow designers (Betty Traciak and Danielle Daws) for the UStamp with Dawn and Friends Classes Clubs and Camps.

For the layout, I used the Greenhouse Gala Designer Series paper, lots of circles and Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso, Real Red, Marina Mist, Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait card stock.

CCMC154

And another challenge....

Create with Connie and Mary on their regular site have a color challenge using...

I used the Upsy Daisy stamp set for the images on the card and tried out some poly shrink plastic and used the Four Frames and Fabulous phrases stamp sets on that.

There is also white bakers twine and a Regals button used on the card.
