VC Rocks Blog Hop

It's the first VC Rocks blog hop of the year!  You may have come from Deborah Robb's blog and at any time you may go to the VC Rocks blog to see the full list of participants.

We are using the theme, Color My World, and I have chosen to use watercolor crayons
and markers in my projects.
My first project is a card using watercolor crayons.  I stamped my image on watercolor paper with Black Stazon ink and then colored in the flower and leaves with Not Quite Navy and Old Olive crayons.  I blended the colors in with my aqua painter and then added some Perfect Plum to the flower and used the aqua painter again.

After I had everything on the card, I spritzed a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Champagne mist shimmer paint over it all.  I always have a hard time getting that to show up in the photos.

Supplies:
Because I care, Just Believe stamp sets
Framed Tulips impressions folder
Old Olive, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla and Watercolor paper
hemp twine
Black stazon ink
watercolor crayons
aqua painter
dimensionals
basic pearls
word window punch
modern label punch
champagne shimmer paint

My next project was a super quick and easy one that would work well as a little gift too.
I picked up a frame at Target with 2 - 4 x 6" openings and just added some simple panels.

The left side is a Certainly Celery base that I ran through the Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder and on top of that I added some Whisper White card stock that I embossed with the Flower Garden impressions folder.  There are a couple butterflies cut out with the Beautiful Wings embosslit on it as well attached with glue dots.

The right side has a So Saffron base that was also embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder.  I used my markers to add some flowers to the Whisper White layer using the Love and Care hostess level 2 stamp set in the Summer Mini catalog.  The sentiment is from the Refuge and Strength stamp set and I punched it out with the scallop oval punch and popped it up with dimensionals.

Supplies:
Refuge and Stregth, Love and Care stamp sets
Flower Garden, Vintage Wallpaper impressions folders
Beautiful Wings embosslit
Big Shot
So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Peach Parfait, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette card stocks
Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink markers
Baja Breeze classic ink
scallop oval punch
dimensionals

And now for some blog candy!  If you leave a comment, I will put your name into a drawing for this stamp set...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the projects!  Your next stop to Color Your World is at Ellen Kemper's blog - enjoy!

  19. My favorite one of your great projects was the Just Because card - a delightful combo with the navy and olive, which compliment each other better than I would have thought! The more I looked at your card, the more it "grew" on me lol. Thanks for the opportunity to win some blog candy too!
