Peachy Keen

The On Film framelits look like they will be so much fun to play with!  This is the first attempt with them and I just used the large frame and arrow for this card pairing them with a Starburst framelit.

The Sale-a-bration Decorative dots folder is so much fun I can't stop using it so that is the background for this card!  Now to find someone to give this fun little card to...

Easter Blessings

Ok, we are still a ways away from Easter, but I had to get some of those great tulips on a card to keep me from thinking about the deep freeze we are living in so much of the time this winter!

The Blessed Easter image is stamped with Black Stazon and then I colored in the image with Pistachio Pudding, Pink Pirouette and Strawberry Slush.

I kept the card pretty simple and used a layer of Whisper White that was embossed with the Stripes folder behind the black card stock.

Bouquet of Flowers

I had such a better picture in my head before I started creating this project....the biggest issue came with covering the paper mache flower pot.  I couldn't figure out how to wrap dsp around it and keep it level so I though, why don't I try a spray adhesive and attach the tea lace paper doilies...that didn't quite turn out like I planned.

I used some distressed fancy flower punch flowers and boho blossom punch flowers to try to cover the doilies up and also wrapped some 3/4" Pear Pizzazz chevron ribbon around the top part of the pot.

Inside the pot, there is a 4" foam ball that I used to attach the completed flowers to with hot glue.

I added some "leaves" of ribbon with stick pins to fill in any empty spots and then used some dazzling details to the centers and some of the petals of the flowers.

Some of the flowers use one die cut piece, some two and others three.  There are a few variegated flowers created by using more than one color die cut together.

Needless to say, it took a little time to wrap all those flowers.  Before I try something like this again, I will have to figure out a better idea for the pot decoration!

Supplies:
Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White card stock
Spiral flower originals doe
fancy flower punch
boho blossoms punch

Hip Notes

I am kind of having a hard time getting back into creating after our vacation, I think I was away from the stamp room for too long (only 6 days, LOL!)!

With as few elements as this card has, you would not think it took to too long to create it, but it actually did.  I do like the end result though.

I used the Gold Metallic ink to stamp my sentiment from Hip Notes and then punched it out with the Artisan Label punch.

The gold sequins are just part of the gold sequin trim taken apart, but boy they sure don't want to stick to the card stock and designer series paper!  I finally used sticky strip and that did the trick :)

Supplies:
Hip Notes
Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Gold Fancy Foil Vellum, Watercolor Wonder dsp
Gold Metallic ink
Sweet Sorbet accessory kit
Artisan Label punch

Hello Kitty...?

Our Late Night Stampers Challenge right now is punch art and I have to admit that is not something I like to play with because I am not very good at it.  In fact, if I didn't tell you in the title what my punch art was, I am not sure you would even know, LOL!

For the Hello Kitty punch art piece, I used the Extra Large Oval for the head, 5 petal flower (retired) for the ears, small heart and itty bitty shapes circle for the bow, owl punch for the eyes and the angled tag topper punch for the nose.

Maybe the whiskers should be longer?  Oh well, I will stick to things I am better at I think! Come over and see the rest of the team's samples and join in the challenge

Starburst in Gumball

Back to the Starburst Sayings bundle again!  This time it is a super simple card that has just a few layers to make it interesting.

I stamped the sentiment image with Gumball Green and cut it out with the Starburst Framelit and then used a smaller image to randomly stamp with Midnight Muse ink on the Crumb Cake card stock.  Quick, easy and cheery!

Make a Wish Cupcake!

This is my first attempt with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die and I have to say I had some trouble the first time with removing the card stock from the metal.  As I attempted it a second time, I thought about wax paper, but didn't have any in my stamp room so I tried a plastic Stampin' Up! bag instead thinking it might work like the wax paper...perfect!  It came out very easily this time...

Behind the Hexagon Hive, I have a layer of Whisper White that was embossed with the Stripes Impressions folder and then I added a scrap of Watercolor Wonder designer series paper on the top and my stamped images.

Supplies:
Perfect Pennants
Another Great Year
Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Coastal Cabana card stock
Black Stazon, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush ink

Toes in the Sand

While I will probably make a mini album of our trip to Cancun at some point, I wanted to use My Digital Studio to capture this moment.  Joe doesn't normally wear flip flops (in fact he hates them!) but I bought him a pair to use in Mexico and had to take a picture of it to show the kids!  He isn't actually wearing them in the picture, but they are in his hands...

My background is Coastal Cabana that I reduced the opacity on and then I added an image from the Eclectic Overlays brush stamp set and made it the same color, but just a little darker.  I thought the cork embellishments from the Sweet Sorbet accessory kit would look good with the sand and I also used a twine bow from the same collection.

A couple of altered flag punches and some embellishments from the This Makes Me Happy Collection...add a title and journaling and there you go!  I don't pretend to be an expert with My Digital Studio, but I like to play with it!

Happy Dahlia

I think I tend to stay away using certain colors on a regular basis and the oranges are one of those.  In fact, I was planning to use the other side of the Retro Fresh designer series paper that is on this card, but at the last minute I changed my mind and I like the way it turned out.

There is some texture on the bottom layer created by the Honeycomb folder and then I added some linen thread around the dsp layer and just wrapped it around a few times.

Sometimes a this Dahlia image just needs to be cut out and popped up on the front of a card, LOL!  It really doesn't take that long to do it, but I wouldn't want to make a large swap like that!

Supplies:

Retro Fresh dsp
Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, Soft Suede card stock

Mini Memories Album

I had so much fun putting together this adorable little mini album called Mini Memories Simply Created Album that is in the Occasions catalog.  My theme is baby since we have a new niece and I thought her mom would have fun adding pictures and other fun things to it.

I have to say that the kit pretty much puts itself together and I just added a few mats for pictures and some stamped images.

There is a little pocket with a pull out Scalloped Tag Topper Punch piece on the inside cover.

In addition to the Baby, We've Grown stamp set, I used some images from Everything Eleanor.

Love those tea lace paper doilies!!

I also threw in some twine from the Sweet Sorbet accessory kit and some Watercolor Wonder washi tape.

Aren't those little heart clips adorable?

When I was finished, I hadn't quite used up all the accessories that came with the album kit.

A spot for journaling stamped with an image from Everything Eleanor.

Supplies:
Everything Eleanor, Baby, We've Grown
Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding, Real Red, Crumb Cake card stock
Sweet sorbet accessory kit
Watercolor Wonder washi tape

Oh Happy Day!

On this card, I used a few things that I rarely use - Tempting Turquoise card stock and Gumball Green ink.  I wanted to use some bright colors for my first card using the Starburst Sayings stamp set and coordinating Starburst Framelits so I thought I would try this combination.

In the center of the smallest starbursts, I added a 1/2" circle punched from the Gold Fancy Foil Vellum package and placed all the pieces on some Basic Black card stock that was embossed with the Decorative Dots folder.

Supplies:
Starburst Sayings
Gumball Green ink
Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black, Whisper White card stock
Gold Fancy Foil Vellum

Wonderful Life

I have some more fun items from the Sweet Sorbet accessory kit on my cards that I will share with you today.  The twine in the kit is awesome and thick, but the cork pieces are fun too.  The images are printed in white on the cork and they are adhesive backed so you just grab one and stick it right on your project!

My two cards use the same saying and banner framelit, but have a little different layout and colors.  Each uses the Regarding Dahlias as a background with the image stamped in Strawberry Slush ink.

Supplies:
Perfect Pennants
Regarding Dahlias
Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Pistachio Pudding, Bermuda Bay card stock
Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush ink

January My Paper Pumpkin Cards

I have found the My Paper Pumpkin kits to be great for when I am having a creative block and while that doesn't happen all that often, they help me to come up with some new ideas.

The January kit was fun to play with and I added some images from the Best of Love stamp set.

A few deco label and banner framelits also made their way into the cards...

and of course I had  few pieces left over to use on other things or share with my kids for their creative projects.

Don't forget, you can sign up any time for the little creative escapes!  Just go to my personal My Paper Pumpkin website and get started!
