First Day

I love this stamp set, First Day, that is in the Summer Mini catalog.  The first card is CASED from one I saw made by Tina Dyck.  The second is a card I used for a featured demonstrator challenge, I used Dana Newsome's layout, but totall different stamps and colors.

Diva Coffee Break Designs had a color challenge this time - Real Red, Summer Sun and Tempting Turquoise......

I used a few different big shot dies and embossing things on this card as well as scoring at 1/4 inch around each side of the base of the card and adding some Tempting Turquoise with a sponge to accent the score marks.

Full of Life

I played around with another 1/2 page One Sheet Wonder today and came up with these cards.  The first one matches the sketch for Funky Friday Craft Challenges and the other two just finish out the 5.5 x 11 inch paper I made.

I used the Greenhouse Garden and Full of Life Stamp sets for these along with some of our new and returning colors - Daffodil Delight, Baja Breeze, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink. The impessions folder is the Vintage Wallpaper one coming out July 1st!  The buttons are from the Sherbet collection and are retiring but are on sale now until they are gone.

Double folds

I have been playing around with some cards that have two folds....

This last one is CASED from a card I saw made by Stephanie Swearingen using new catalog products.

To make this type of card you need a 4 1/4 inch x 11 inch piece of card stock.  You will score at 2 1/2 on one side and 3 on the other.

I used Mary Jo's sketch this week for this card.  I was playing with some background techniques and thought I would use some of the paper for this card.

I am not sure if there is a name for what I did with the background, but I will try to explain it :)  I took a page protector and cut the edge so it would open.  Then on one side I randomly added the three colors of reinkers, sprayed with water and closed the protector to blend them.  Next I placed 2 sheets of Whisper White card stock in the folder, closed it and used my brayer to make sure the papers were covered completely.  Kind of messy, but fun!
