Trick or Treat

Happy Halloween!  I thought I would stay in the spirit of Halloween with my card today.  This is one I used at my last Stamp A Stack and it went over quite well - simple and fun!

The sentiment is stamped and punched out with the Note Tag Punch, then I colored the pumpkins in with some Pumpkin Pie ink and added a little button with a glue dot before adding it to the card.

Simple and Fun Halloween Treat Bags

The kids always like to give their friends treats at school for holidays and I like to find a way to have them help put them together.  This time we decided to use a Clear Medium envelope to hold the candy and added a bag topper and stamped piece.

One child decided on pumpkins and another on "trick or treat"...both used the Happy Haunting designer series paper for the toppers.

These are really easy to put together, but sometimes their attention spans aren't long enough to make the packaging too complicated.

October Paper Pumpkin and Alternatives

I think my daughter watches closer for the Paper Pumpkin boxes each month than I do!  One day last week she said, "Mom, shouldn't you have gotten your orange box in the mail already?"

The cards you see above are the designs the kit was intended for and there are 3 of each card ready to be made in the kit.  Of course as soon as I opened the box, I lost one of each card to Maddie...

But then I decided to make one of each as intended (the photo above and two below are close ups of those)...

and then I just did my own thing for awhile...

and came up with the following 5 alternative cards by cutting down pieces and added some additional card stock.

I added a little bit of Winter wonderland specialty vellum on a couple of them and a brick wall embossed background on another...

I hope you enjoyed the samples and alternatives!  The video from Stampin' Up! for this month's kit is below as well.
Does it look like fun or like a great gift idea?!  Just go here for more purchasing details...

This card is another that will be a Stamp A Stack option in the future.  I chose Cajun Craze and Delightful Dijon as my main colors (two that I rarely use) and added some Very Vanilla and Tip Top Taupe.

The strip of designer series paper is from the Color Me Irresistible specialty paper pack and I cut up a piece of 1" dotted lace trim and stapled it onto that strip.

Watercolor Birthday

I went into the scrap and leftover bin for most of this card using a background that I had already embossed and another background that I had already stamped.

I used a portion of the Watercolor Wash image behind the flower image and then when I went to add the sentiment I decided to add some color to that as well, using an image from For All Things and stamping it over and over again...

Dreamers of Dreams

Again I am back with a sample canvas for an upcoming class.  I once again used the denim background, this time stamping with the set Be the Star and Garden Green, Memento Black and Metallic Gold ink.

I used some little wooden stars from the Happy Thoughts Paper Pumpkin kit randomly around the canvas...

and added some Winter Wonderland designer vellum behind some Project Life banner pieces...

more pieces from the Moments Like These Project Life collection...

and another...

The quote also comes from the Moments Like These Project Life kit.

Before I added any elements to the page, I distressed the denim with some of the denim glaze that I purchased at the same time I bought the canvases, that is the whitish color you see in the background...

Happiest Wishes

I am drawn to the Boys will Be Boys stamp set it seems, maybe because I have a couple boys in the house and one that loves legos...who knows :)  For the card below, I paired it with the Watercolor Wishes card kit stamp set and some Schoolhouse designer series paper.

I also added a strip of Corrugated paper and colored in and cut out one of the lego images.

Fun cards don't have to take a long time to put together!

Peace on Earth

I just love the Hearth and Home thinlits paired with the Happy Scenes stamp set.  There are just so many possibilities!  For this card, I used a glassine sheet as a "window" and embossed it with the Softly Falling folder before I placed it behind the window frame thinlit.  Then I stamped the image of the evergreen trees on some Whisper White card stock and placed that behind the window.
I chose the Holly Jolly Greetings set to add some snowflakes to the background and for the "on earth"...

"Peace" comes from another thinlit set called Christmas greetings and I used the fine tip glue pen to attach it to the card base.

Finally I added some basic rhinestones and some Winter Wonderland Embellishments to finish it off.

Little Duckies

This is a pretty quick card to put together but I thought it was kind of cute with the little ducks in a row.  I used the Something for Baby stamp set along with the Little Sunshine and Teeny Tiny Wishes sets.

A little bit of taffeta ribbon on a heart clip and it is complete!

Happy Place
Today I have another canvas project to share with you.  It is another sample for those who take my class in a few weeks can look at for inspiration...

This time I used a denim background and stamped some images from the By the Tide stamp set onto it.  I used some burlap ribbon that was cut and frayed in a few spots as well as some buttons as accents.

The title comes from Hello Life and I chose the Happy Times Project Life card collection and accessory pack for the rest of the elements.

Of all my kids, Wyatt does the most fishing so I wanted to have his canvas to show those awesome times with grandpa.
