First Day of School

About a week ago my kids had their first day of school, summer vacation went much too quickly for them this year.  As I have done the last several years, I made some signs to showcase the year they are starting in school.

I chose to use the Share What You Love specialty designer series paper for all of the backgrounds and matted it on Basic Black card stock.

For Wyatt's I added an accent of Galvanized metallic paper that was embossed with the Tin Tile dynamic folder and then I punched the end with the banner triple punch.

On Maddie's I used some Nature's twine in Grapefruit Grove...

And on Hunter's I used some random retired buttons.

Celebrating

Today's card is another one of the cards I put together in the hotel a few weeks ago.  It began with a Crumb Cake base that I used the burlap background stamp on.

Then I added a pearlized doily and a matted piece of Petal Promenade designer series paper that had a piece of 5/8" polka dot tulle ribbon wrapped around it.  Finally, I added the sentiment from a retired set called Falling For You.

Supplies:
Burlap, Falling For You
Mossy Meadow, Crumb Cake ink
Crumb Cake, Fresh Fig, Whisper White card stock

Birthday Expressions

When we went across the state a couple weeks ago for a baseball tournament, I knew I would be in the hotel room with a lot of downtime and brought a bunch of card pieces to put together.  This is one of the cards I made multiples of using the Eclectic Expressions (SAB 2018) and Guy Greetings stamp sets and the Share What You Love specialty paper.

The label is from the Stitched Label framelits collection and the second pattern of designer series paper is punched out with the Starburst folder.  The cards were quick and easy to put together because I had already stamped, cut and punched everything.

Supplies:
Guy Greetings, Eclectic Expressions (SAB 2018)

Dandelion Birthday

I had to play with the Dandelion wishes stamp set the other day and wanted to pair it with the Bokeh Dots set.  For the background, I chose to use the Highland Heather ink color and inked up the Bokeh Dots stamp using a sponge to get good coverage.  This stamp is a little tricky to use and a dauber or sponge works best to add the ink to it I have found...

My dandelion images are stamped with Soft Suede ink as is the sentiment from Detailed With Love.

Today I have used the sneak peek Galvanized metallic paper that I shared with you yesterday from the upcoming Holiday catalog.  In this post, I also have a couple other upcoming items for you...Frosted Floral specialty designer series paper and the Tin Tile dynamic impressions folder.

The specialty paper is shimmery and the patterns and colors are very pretty.  The sentiments on all of these cards are from the Darling Label punch box and are punched out with the one that comes in the box and layered over the Everyday label punch.

A few of the cards also use some metallic adhesive pearls for accents.

Kick Butt

A little over a week ago we had one of those crazy busy weeks and we sent our oldest son to the other side of the state with his baseball coach for the State Class A Legion Baseball Tournament.  His brother and sister and I were able to join him a few days later...  I wanted to send him off with a little encouraging card even though we didn't expect him to be more than moral support for his teammates (although he did see a little playing time).

First, I took a piece of Whisper White card stock and used my Basic Black marker to make a curved line.  Next, I used my piecing tool to add holes on either side of the marker.  Then,I used the chevron punch and cut lots of pieces from some Real Red card stock and added them over the line to look like stitching.

The sentiment is from the Enjoy Life stamp set - simple and to the point for this purpose :)

The team played really well and came home with 2nd place, although I know they would have liked to repeat as state champions, they played well and were really fun to watch.

One of the teams they played during the tournament happened to be one of their regular season rivals from a town less than 20 miles away...

Moms, a grandma and baby sister...

Stitched and Vintage

There are a lot of elements that went into making this card from the different designer series papers to the die cuts and stamps.  The background started out with Nature's Poem designer series paper that has a piece of Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut specialty paper over the top.

Over that, I added a piece of Tranquil Textures designer series paper over the top and then added it to my card base.

The framelit was stamped with an image from Very Vintage and the sentiment is from Stitched All Around.  I finished the card off with some Whisper White 5/8" Polka Dot Tulle ribbon.
