Needles and Stitches

Recently I taught a class at a retreat and we put together the cards and box in the first picture using some retired items and some current ones.  My theme was needles and thread since the retreat was a combined scrapbooking/card making and quilting retreat.  

We used the Love of Leaves and Needles and Thread stamp sets, Hydrangea Hill designer series paper, Needlepoint elements framelits, Lace 3d folder, Tin Tile folder, and Gingham designer series paper.

The two cards in the other pictures are made using the same concepts, but different sentiments and slightly different layouts.  

I added some Rococo Rose card stock and used the Stitched Rectangle framelits along with the Many Messages stamp set and Messages die for these...

The background on the last card was made using the Rectangle Postage punch on some Hydrangea Hill designer series paper and then adhering it to Highland Heather card stock. Next, I used the Tin Tile embossing folder on the piece to make it look quilted.

Baby Canvas

Recently a customer ordered a baby canvas for her granddaughter who will arrive in the next couple months. They are always so much fun to put together!

She requested grays and pinks for the colors and we plan to exchange Marvin (last name) with the baby's name once she arrives...

I used lots and lots of Big Shot dies, folders and punches to create the squares and I have them listed below for you in the supplies section.  I started out with the Layering Squares framelits for the bottom layers and also for the layers of designer series paper - All My Love and Twinkle Twinkle collections...

I added some retired buttons for accents here and there and also embossed the middle layer of squares...

For the stamp sets, I chose the Sweet Baby and First Steps sets and used both markers and Stampin' Blends to color in images.

The letters are die cut with the Large Letters framelits and the baby is from the Well Written framelits collection.

The base layer of card stock on the canvas was some Strawberry Slush that I had leftover from awhile ago and I also used Gray Granite, Basic Gray, Flirty Flamingo, Petal Pink and Powder Pink...
