Needles and Stitches

Recently I taught a class at a retreat and we put together the cards and box in the first picture using some retired items and some current ones.  My theme was needles and thread since the retreat was a combined scrapbooking/card making and quilting retreat.  

We used the Love of Leaves and Needles and Thread stamp sets, Hydrangea Hill designer series paper, Needlepoint elements framelits, Lace 3d folder, Tin Tile folder, and Gingham designer series paper.

The two cards in the other pictures are made using the same concepts, but different sentiments and slightly different layouts.  

I added some Rococo Rose card stock and used the Stitched Rectangle framelits along with the Many Messages stamp set and Messages die for these...

The background on the last card was made using the Rectangle Postage punch on some Hydrangea Hill designer series paper and then adhering it to Highland Heather card stock. Next, I used the Tin Tile embossing folder on the piece to make it look quilted.

I wanted to play around with a couple different patterns from the Needlepoint Nook designer series paper collection so I picked a couple of them and matted them on Night of Navy and Tranquil Tide card stock.  

I used the Needle and Thread stamp set for my background stamping and sentiment layer and the oval is die cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits.

April Stamp Club Projects

This month we used the Broadway  Bound specialty paper as the focus for our 12 x 12 double layout. 

We also added some Sale-a-bration Lovely Lipstick foil paper to one side along with coordinating card stock colors - Lemon Lime Twist, Gray Granite, Lovely Lipstick and Basic Black.

The first card uses the Gingham gala designer series paper in coordination with the Dandelion Wishes and Love What You Do stamp sets.  The ink colors used were Basic Gray and Balmy Blue. 

Lastly we did a little different style or card.  The base of Merry Merlot is 5 1/2" x 4" and the piece on the front is 3 3/4" x 3 3/4".  We used the Needle and Thread stamp set along with Merry Merlot, Early Espresso and Mossy Meadow ink.

March Stamp Club Projects

It is time for the monthly stamp club projects again!  I used several of the second release Sale-a-bration items for these projects along with a few other items...

The layout features the Painted Seasons designer series paper (SAB 2019) and I have used a retired die for the big shot as well as circle and starburst punches.

The first card showcases the All Adorned stamp set (SA B 2019) and a sentiment from the Needle and Thread set.

Lastly, I used the Piece of Cake stamp set and builder punch, Beauty Abounds stamp set and some Broadway Bound specialty paper for our last card.  The Balmy Blue layer was die cut with the Rectangle Stitched thinlits.

I was playing around with some Needlepoint Nook designer series paper scraps a while ago and made a couple cards using those and the Life is Grand stamp set that is also in the Occasions catalog.

The background stamping on both the card base and the Whisper White layer has images from the Needles and Thread stamp set.

People Like You

The Needles & Thread and Beauty Abounds stamp sets were paired together to make the cards I have to share with you today.  One is on a Balmy Blue card base and the other on Whisper White.  

Each one has a 2 1/2" circle punched out from some Graceful Glass designer Vellum that was colored with Stampin' Blends.  The background images are stamped with Mint Macaron, Highland Heather and Night of Navy.

Life is Grand

Recently I made a few birthday cards with the Life is Grand stamp set using colors that would work for masculine cards.

I started by die cutting two rectangles from the Rectangles Stitched framelits in Whisper White and Balmy Blue.  Then I stamped the two sets of words using Lovely Lipstick and Balmy Blue ink.

I added some Needlepoint Nook designer series paper, 3/16" braided trim and another stamped image on the base to complete the card.
