Comforting Hugs

I always like to find different ways to use the holiday specialty paper in projects that are not holiday themed.  For this sympathy card, I chose to use a piece of Brightly Gleaming specialty paper in the background along with a piece of Woven threads designer series paper.

The sentiment is stamped on Rococo Rose card stock that was die cut with the Stitched Labels framelits and is from the Kindness and Compassion stamp set.

Christmas Ride

When I am able to catch some of my favorite teams playing football on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, I usually try to set up a table in front of the tv and work on some card projects at the same time.  This week while watching the Bison play, I put together these cute cards using the Ride with Me stamp set.

I used a few different colors on the trucks using my Stampin' Blends markers and added some Feels like frost specialty paper in the backgrounds.  The sentiments are die cut with the Stitched Rectangles and Stitched labels framelits and stamped with a sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas.

I added a few Holiday Rhinestone basic jewels for accents as well.

October Paper Pumpkin Layout Idea

This is a fairly simple 12" x 12" scrapbook layout using some elements from the October Paper Pumpkin kit.  I began with an Early Espresso base and added some Shaded Spruce and Pool Party card stock.

There are some snowflakes stamped on the side of the layout - the image is from the kit...and I added a couple die cuts using the Pretty Peacock foil sheets and Stitched Rectangles framelits along with a piece of Feels Like Frost specialty paper.

The Pool Party photo mat is 5 1/4" x 7 1/4"...

October Paper Pumpkin Alternative Cards

The first card in the pictures is the way the kit was designed for us.  The pictures make it difficult to see, but the snow and trees are shimmery white...

I added Pool Party and Early Espresso card stock bases for the two cards below as well as some die cuts using the Stitched Rectangles and Stitched Labels framelits.  The sentiment on the card on the right is from Itty Bitty Christmas.

A few similar variations on the next two...

And finally one using some Feels Like Frost specialty paper and Pretty Peacock foil sheets along with a small piece of Come to Gather designer series paper.

Itty Bitty Christmas

Since we have had so much snow lately, this card fits into the way it feels around here...

I focused on the Let it Snow specialty designer series paper on this card adding a large layer of it over some Real Red card stock that was embossed with the Brick and Mortar folder.  

The sentiment is cut with the Stitched rectangles framelits and stamped with Pacific Point ink.  The saying comes from the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set that is in the holiday catalog.

Birthday Catch

I was playing around with walleye colors again on using my Stampin' Blends on the Best Catch images and came up with this card that uses the Crackle Paint stamp as a background.

The card base and piece behind the fish and bag are Balmy Blue and I added some linen thread wrapped around the layers to break up the card just a little.  The sentiment comes from Here's A Card and is stamped with Night of Navy ink on a die cut made using the Stitched Shapes framelits.

Hammered Textures

The harvest season has had another setback unfortunately - this time in the form of a blizzard that dropped around 18" of heavy snow.  We still have about a third of our potato crop in the field as well as all of our soybeans so if we can get back into the fields it is going to be another long fall...

I would love to say that the setback gives me a lot more time in the stamp room, but that isn't the case - always so many other things that need to be done, but hopefully I can give you a few more project ideas...

This card is a result of playing around with some different textures and colors...I started with the Tasteful Textures stamp set and used Granny Apple Green ink on a Whisper White card stock base.  

Then, I embossed some Granny Apple Green card stock with the Hammered Metal folder and punched out a 2" circle.  The layer under the circle is a piece of Noble Peacock specialty designer series paper and my sentiment layer is die cut with the Stitched labels collection.

October Stamp Club

This month's stamp club projects use a few things from the Holiday catalog and a few others from the catalog and idea book.  I always like to use a mix of the two this time of year...

The layout started out with the Let it Snow specialty designer series paper and I added card stock photo mats in coordinating colors to the paper.  What is so fun about this paper is that one side has lots of glitter elements - for example, the snowmen are covered in glitter, and it gives a little texture to the projects as well.
