Decorated Baskets

I recently found a packet of baskets that were the perfect size to put cards in to use as gifts or for storing.  These will be used as silent auction items for an upcoming benefit for our niece and I decided I wanted to decorate them just a little bit.

For the first one, I used some retired rose trim that I dyed with Pink Pirouette reinkers and water.  I added an In Color doily and a Sending Love embellishment as well.

For the second basket, I  started with burlap ribbon and put some lace ribbon over the top of it.

Then I punched out a 2 1/2" So Saffron circle and placed it behind the lace doily and added a retired button to the front.

The set of baskets also came with a larger one that both of these would fit into that I haven't taken the time to play with yet...hopefully a project to come!

All Year Long

I have shared some cards before that used Project Life pieces as the focus and today is another one of those cards, this time using the All Year Long Project Life accessory kit.

I cut down the vellum piece to just under half of what it is in the kit before adding it to my Pool Party card stock.  Then I added a small 2" x 2" card, strip of Basic Black, lace trim and my sentiments.

Supplies:
Better Together
Early Espresso, Tip Top Taupe ink
Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Basic Black, Tip Top Taupe card stock
lace trim
All Year Long Project Life accessory kit

Bridal Shower

I had to put together a few different bridal shower cards for a customer recently and was trying to think of new ways to use the stamps I had on hand.  This is one of them that I came up with using the ombre background of a piece of By the Shore designer series paper.

I used the Cheers to Love, Better Together and Sealed with Love stamp sets and added a lace doily and some lace trim.

There is truly nothing fancy about it, but I thought it came together pretty well in the end.

Supplies:
Cheers to Love, Better Together and Sealed with Love
Calypso Coral, Basic Black ink
Very Vanilla card stock
By the Shore dsp
lace doily
lace trim
2" circle punch

Give Thanks

I have another altered craft store find to share with you today.  I found a 5 pack of these wooden pieces, they are about 8 1/2" x 11" in the clearance section and knew I could find some fun things to do with them. In fact two of my nieces and my daughter made their own versions of this project too!

I started off using the Timeless Textures stamp set and randomly stamping the images in different colors - Soft Suede, Pool Party, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand...then I added some denim paint that I had left over from some other projects just kind of brushing it in random spots.

I added some lace trim and burlap ribbon to the bottom and the started with my layers.  There is some Smoky Slate card stock embossed with the Cable Knit folder, Serene Scenery designer series paper and some chicken wire that I cut into about a 6" x 4" piece.

My sentiment is from the Suite Seasons stamp set, a very versatile holiday greeting set in the Holiday catalog.

I also used a couple retired Stampin' Up! items, I always love the little flowers and have many of them left over to play with now and then!

Supplies:
Timeless Textures, Suite Seasons
Soft Suede, Pool Party, Soft Sky, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand, Dapper Denim, Delightful Dijon ink
Smoky Slate, Dapper Denim, Very Vanilla, Delightful Dijon card stock
Serene Scenery dsp
lace trim
burlap ribbon
in color doilies
Cable knit folder
gold binder clips
