Tulip Sympathy

Don't forget, today is the first day you are able to order from the new catalog!

I really love tulips and was playing around with some different colored petals on some sympathy cards.  Here you will see the Daffodil Delight flowers, but I also played with Gorgeous Grape and really liked both options.

I stamped the flower and stem images with the top Whisper White piece sitting on the card base so the images that went off the edges would align once it was all attached together.

The sentiments are from the Timeless Tulips set and retired Better Together.

Supplies:
Timeless Tulips, Better Together
Daffodil Delight, Gorgeous Grape ink
Whisper White, Smoky Slate card stock
Decorative Dots folder

Button Birthday

This card has a lot of different layers using Big Shot products - the background has been embossed with the Button Button folder and the Crumb Cake layer was die cut with the Stitched Nested Labels.
Next are two layers die cut using my all time favorite Stitched Shapes framelits.

My sentiment is stamped with the retired Better Together stamp set using Terracotta Tile ink.  This is admittedly a color I rarely use but I like the was it looks with these combinations.

Supplies:
Better Together
Terracotta Tile ink
Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Terracotta Tile card stock
Stitched Shapes framelits
Stitched Nested Labels

Milestone Moments Birthday

My daughter recently had a birthday and I wanted a fun card for her.  She always saves the cards I make her so I wanted to add lots of elements to it.

For stamp sets, I chose Milestone Moments, Better Together and Playful Backgrounds, pairing them with Cherry Cobbler and Soft suede ink.

On the inside I added a strip of the same pattern of designer series paper from the Be Merry collection as an accent after doing some more stamping.

The banners are created using the triple banner punch and I embossed my layer of Soft Suede card stock with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  Of course a 12 year old needs some bling too so I added some basic rhinestones and bakers twine.

Supplies:
Milestone Moments, Playful Backgrounds, Better Together
Cherry Cobbler, Soft suede ink
Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Whisper White card stock

December Stamp Club Projects

In the spirit of the clearance rack and year end sale - this time around I chose to use some retired items for our stamp club projects.  I used several patterns of retired designer series paper in both the layout and the stockings and also a few retired embellishments on the stockings.

Even though the layout uses some Christmas themed paper, it could be used for lots of different occasions.

I wanted to do something more than just cards this time so I put together a gift tag and a pillow box stocking using the Trim your stockings dies.

The card uses the Seasonal layers thinlits and Colorful Seasons stamp set along with some Wood textures designer series paper and the everyday label punch.

Sponged Sympathy

Sometimes I find it difficult to come up with new ideas for sympathy cards and I had recently seen a few sponged cards using the High Tide stamp set so I thought I would put something together using that.

I cut a circle out with the Layering circles framelits on scrap paper and used it for my mask, then sponged Soft Sky, Marina Mist and Dapper Denim ink inside the circle before adding some stamped elements.

Supplies:
Trust God, Better Together, High Tide

Baby Clouds

I finally tried out the embossing paste that is in the Catalog and Idea Book!  For some baby cards, I decided to use the cloud mask from the Pattern Party Decorative Mask set and emboss the clouds on some Soft Sky card stock.

I thought the Pretty Label Punch kind of looked like a cloud too so I chose to punch the sentiment from the Better Together stamp set out with it and pop it up over the top of a strip of Wood Textures designer series paper.

Wood Textures Sympathy

Today's card is a simple one that could really be embellished to add more texture if you wanted to.  I started with a piece of Wood textures designer series paper and stamped the flourish on it from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set with Soft Suede ink.

Behind the designer series paper, I added a retired doily and then a strip of retired Lost Lagoon card stock holds the sentiment on the front.

Flourishing Sympathy

The card I have to show you today doesn't use any sneak peek Holiday catalog items.  It is just a fairly simple sympathy card using the Better Together and Flourishing Phrases stamp sets. I have seen several used in a similar way on Pinterest and thought I would put one of my own together.

I chose Peekaboo Peach ink for the flourish in the background and stamped the image twice but only inked one time.

To add a little texture, I added some enamel dots randomly and on part of the flourish image as well.

Supplies:
Better Together, Flourishing Phrases
Early Espresso, Peekaboo Peach ink
Whisper White, Pool Party card stock

Hexagon Sympathy

I really love the soft patterns and colors in the Falling in Love designer series paper that is in the Occasions catalog (and retiring!!) and thought it would work well for some sympathy cards.

I chose to add a layer of designer series paper in the background and a matted one on top of it.  Then I took a die cut hexagon and embossed it with the Hexagons dynamic folder and added it behind the sentiment which is also on designer series paper.

Here't to a Great...

Last week I shared a couple cards where I had punched out a circle and placed something behind it, well, I must have had that on the brain for awhile because here is one more!  I used the same punch - the 2 1/2" circle punch and placed some Sending Love glassine sheets behind it.

The trim on the Pool Party is stamped with the Delicate Details stamp set (SAB 2017) and the sentiment is from Better Together.  I added an In color doily and some Sending love embellishments to complete the card.

Bridal Shower

I had to put together a few different bridal shower cards for a customer recently and was trying to think of new ways to use the stamps I had on hand.  This is one of them that I came up with using the ombre background of a piece of By the Shore designer series paper.

I used the Cheers to Love, Better Together and Sealed with Love stamp sets and added a lace doily and some lace trim.

There is truly nothing fancy about it, but I thought it came together pretty well in the end.

Supplies:
Cheers to Love, Better Together and Sealed with Love
Calypso Coral, Basic Black ink
Very Vanilla card stock
