Milestone Moments Birthday

My daughter recently had a birthday and I wanted a fun card for her.  She always saves the cards I make her so I wanted to add lots of elements to it.

For stamp sets, I chose Milestone Moments, Better Together and Playful Backgrounds, pairing them with Cherry Cobbler and Soft suede ink.

On the inside I added a strip of the same pattern of designer series paper from the Be Merry collection as an accent after doing some more stamping.

The banners are created using the triple banner punch and I embossed my layer of Soft Suede card stock with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  Of course a 12 year old needs some bling too so I added some basic rhinestones and bakers twine.

Supplies:
Milestone Moments, Playful Backgrounds, Better Together
Cherry Cobbler, Soft suede ink
Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede, Whisper White card stock
Cherry Cobbler bakers twine
Banner triple punch
Perfect Polka dots folder
Basic rhinestones

Just for You

I love the designs in the Foil Frenzy specialty paper package and decided to use some in the background on this card.  In addition, I thought I would add some embossing with the Perfect polka dots folder on another piece of card stock behind the stamped images.

The Stampin' Blends once again came out to color in the pen images and my sentiment is from the Watercolor Wings stamp set.

Supplies:
Crafting Forever, Watercolor Wings
Memento Black ink
Stampin' Blends
Foil Frenzy specialty paper
Old Olive, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight card stock

Circled Birthday

When I die cut things I usually make extras for use in later projects and that is what I did with the Happy Birthday die cut awhile ago when I cut out some in Crumb Cake card stock.  The card I shared with you before needed more contrast in color between the die cut and the background so I tried a brighter background on this one.

The circle behind the die cut is made with the Circles framelits and Melon Mambo card stock.  I embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots folder and then used glue dots to add the Happy Birthday.  To create the background, I took a piece of Fresh Fig card stock and stamped some images from the Cheers to the Years stamp set with Fresh Fig and Berry Burst ink.  You may notice that there are not full circle images in that stamp set, I kept the insides of the scribbled circle and circle with little lines to use for stamping when I put it together.
Cheers to the Year Wood-Mount Stamp Set

Supplies:
Cheers to the Years
Berry Burst, Fresh Fig ink
Melon Mambo, Crumb Cake, Fresh Fig card stock
Bermuda Bay mini chevron ribbon

Baptism Banner

I was asked to make some Baptism decorations recently and today and tomorrow I am going to share a couple of the things I put together.  Today I have a banner to share with you.  It is made with the Party Pennants Bigz L Die (133732) and I also embossed each piece using the Lucky Stars, Chevron, Perfect Polka Dots and Large Polka Dots folders.

The letters were cut out with the Serif Essentials Alphabet (retired) and placed on the pennant pieces with dimensionals.

I pieces the banner parts together with ribbon and staples.  The ribbon is bunched up at each connection point although it is a little hard to see here.

I added a few buttons, little clothespins, and other accents as well.

My middle son was a great helper on this project, he die cut all the pennant banner pieces for me which I appreciated!

Supplies:
Serif Essentials alphabet die
Part Pennants Bigz L die
Perfect Polka Dots folder
Chevron folder
Large Polka Dots folder
Lucky Stars folder

Celebrate with Us!

Remember those baby girl cards I shared with you and I said that I had some Tea Lace Paper Doilies laying around on my desk?  Well, I had used them for some wedding cards and didn't get them put away, LOL!

For this card, I chose Soft Sky as my background and use the Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder on the pieces I cut.  (This is still probably my favorite embossing folder!!)

Then, I cut a few banners, some Silver Glimmer paper and stamped my saying from Celebrate with Us and put it all together.

In the end, I decided to add a couple small silver hearts to finish the card off.

Supplies:
Celebrate with Us
Whisper White, Basic Black, Silver Glimmer, Silver Fancy Foil Vellum, Soft Sky card stock and specialty papers

Lots and lots of pictures to share with you since my last card entry was a trifold one.  I even used a little piece of velcro to close it and made it more like a book or mini album that way.

I added a little chalkboard technique to the inside using the From My Heart stamp set with the idea that this could be a teacher thank you card.

Non Winning Artisan Project #1

Well, once again I wasn't picked as a finalist for the Artisan Award Contest so I am going to share my 10 entries with you in the next couple weeks.  I have to admit, by the time I packed them all up to ship to Utah, there were some projects I didn't like too much anymore, but there were some I still loved and this was one of them.

This is not a typical card that I create because is it really tedious and I tend to stay away from those.

Everything was sponged and then shimmered with some smooch spritz and most layers also had some distressed edged.

Supplies:
Teeny Tiny Wishes
Soft Suede classic ink
Very Vanilla card stock
Naturals composition specialty paper
Modern Label punch
Designer Frames folder
Scallop edge punch

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day!
I thought I would share one of the Mother's Day cards I made in honor of mother's today.  This one uses my favorite specialty paper - Naturals Composition specialty paper and I am SO GLAD it is in the new catalog!

I embossed some Primrose Petals card stock with the Honeycomb folder and used my 2 1/2" circle punch to punch out a partial circle on the right side.  Then I added some Fan Fair designer series paper behind the partial circle and mounted that onto some Certainly Celery card stock along with the Naturals composition paper.

The heart is cut using the Hearts collection framelits and I embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.
