Bridal Shower Decorations

Now that the bridal shower I was asked to make decorations for is over, I can share some pictures with you. Ok well, a lot of pictures actually!

I started with some mason jars that I painted with gray and yellow acrylic paint.  Next I added some White Jute ribbon around them and placed a Tea Lace Paper doily under a tissue paper flower.

The flowers are all layers of tissue paper that have been cut out with the Big Shot and the Circles framelits.  I did not have access to the Cotton paper that is in the new catalog at the time I made these or I would have tried that instead of the tissue paper.  I imagine the end result would have been pretty close to the same thing.

There are little tags hooked onto the kabob sticks that hold the flowers and each are stamped with a sentiment from the For the New Two stamp set.  The tags were created using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.

A side view of the painted jar...

I thought there should be something placed under the jars so I created a mat using different shades of yellow and gray and different embossing folders.  The pieces are attached to a piece of Whisper White card stock.

A table frame for the engagement photo had the same type of background as I used on the mats.

I had lots and lots of extra flowers so that they could be placed on the tables around the centerpieces to add more decoration and color.

For the banner, I used the Chalkboard Banner Simply Created Kit and cut the letters using a retired die called Serif Alphabet.

Each end had a tissue paper flower attached.

The chalkboard banner pieces were stamped with flower images from Mother's Love using white craft ink and yellow chalk ink. I added a few large rhinestones to some of the flowers as well.

It was a fun project to put together and since I did not attend the shower, I just set things up for pictures at home and it doesn't give the same effect as if it was set up for the shower.

Oh, Happy Day!

Happy Mother's Day!
While this isn't a Mother's Day card that I am sharing today, I thought the sentiment would be ok for the day!!

Supplies:
Starburst Sayings
Daffodil Delight ink

April Stamp Club

I tried to go with some fun spring colors for the layout this month using the Painted Blooms designer series paper and Mother's Love stamp set.

For the cards, I chose one that could be used for graduation or other occasions along with one showcasing one of the newest photopolymer stamp sets.

My background on this one is the Maritime designer series paper and the sentiment is from Adventure Awaits.

And finally, some Flashback designer series paper and the Lovely Amazing
You and Draw the Line stamp sets.

Typeset Blend

Realizing I had not pulled out my Perfect Blend stamp set for quite awhile, I decided to make a couple cards using it and some scraps from my scrap bin.

I stamped the cup images on Very Vanilla and Typeset specialty paper and cut out the pieces.  Then I added a little color with my Coastal Cabana blendabilities markers.

The sentiments are punched with the hexagon punch and on the card above, I added some 7/8" Sahara sand lace trim and a piece of Flashback designer series paper.

You have seen the basic part of the card above a time or two, I guess I made too many of this layer for a project at one time, LOL!

Supplies:
Perfect Blend
Coastal Cabana ink and blendabilities, Memento Black ink
Very Vanilla, Pool Party, Basic Black card stock
Typeset specialty paper
Flashback designer series paper
Circles framelits
Chevron folder

I had some leftover pieces from the Baptism banner I shared with you last week and I have made a few cards with them.  This one uses the Big Day (SAB 2015) stamp set for the sentiment and some Painted Petals designer series paper in the background.

You can see I did a little bit of sewing on the card as well, I am still playing around with that just a little bit.

Supplies:
Big Day
Marina Mist ink
Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Marina Mist card stock
Painted Petals dsp
staples

More Baptism Decorations

Here are a few more of the items I put together for the Baptism.  I put together a few other things too that I won't share because they have the child's whole name and some other information on them.

These jars were some I picked up awhile ago while looking for fun things to alter.  I put some mint candies in the bottom and hung a little banner and a shrink plastic cross (shrink dinks) in them.  The cross was printed with My Digital Studio and then cut out and shrunk down.

The tops of the jars were decorated simply with some circles, ribbon and buttons.

The sentiment in the one on the left comes from Blessed by God and each jar has the same thing inside.

Some more My Digital Studio goodies for the Hershey's kisses and these were punched out with the 1" circle punch and added with glue dots.

Baptism Banner

I was asked to make some Baptism decorations recently and today and tomorrow I am going to share a couple of the things I put together.  Today I have a banner to share with you.  It is made with the Party Pennants Bigz L Die (133732) and I also embossed each piece using the Lucky Stars, Chevron, Perfect Polka Dots and Large Polka Dots folders.

The letters were cut out with the Serif Essentials Alphabet (retired) and placed on the pennant pieces with dimensionals.

I pieces the banner parts together with ribbon and staples.  The ribbon is bunched up at each connection point although it is a little hard to see here.

I added a few buttons, little clothespins, and other accents as well.

My middle son was a great helper on this project, he die cut all the pennant banner pieces for me which I appreciated!

Supplies:
Serif Essentials alphabet die
Part Pennants Bigz L die
Perfect Polka Dots folder
Chevron folder
Large Polka Dots folder
Lucky Stars folder
7/8" scalloped circle punch
ribbon
staples
buttons

I added some stamped images from Nature's Peace and Letterpress winter and a sentiment from Curly Cute.

Patterns and Textures

This card may be a little overboard with different patterns and textures.  I threw in the Chevron folder, Hexagon Hive thinlit, and itty bitty accents punches for texture and the Work of Art stamp set and Flashback designer series paper for patterns.

I might stamp off the chevron image before I stamp behind the sentiment next time to lighten it up a little.

Supplies:
Work of Art, Yippee Skippee
Basic Gray, Pool Party ink
Real Red, Very Vanilla, Pool Party card stock
Flashback dsp
Chevron folder
Hexagon Hive thinlit
itty bitty accents punches
Adorning accents edgelit

Blended Birthday

Well, here is that Blended Bloom image again, but this time I used some Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities markers on it along with the Daffodil Delight Blendabilities for the center.  I have never worked with alcohol markers before so I have a lot of work ahead of me to master using them!!

The center of the flower is cut out and popped up which gives it a nice 3d effect.  I used a little Moonlight designer series paper and a sentiment from Bloom with Hope.  The ribbon is the Blackberry Bliss stitched satin and it is so easy to work with!

Supplies:
Blended Bloom, Bloom with Hope
Blackberry Bliss ink
Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry blendabilities
Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White, Hello Honey card stock
Moonlight dsp
modern label punch
chevron folder
Blackberry Bliss stitched satin ribbon
linen thread

Cabana and Gold

I have enjoyed playing with the Fancy foil designer vellum that is in the Occasions catalog - I really hope it is carried over into the new catalog that will come out faster than we think!  Can't wait :)

For the card I am sharing with you today, I paired the gold with Coastal Cabana and added a little texture with the Chevron folder.

Speaking of the new catalog, I probably better order some more of my favorite Naturals composition specialty paper before it is no longer available!!

Supplies:
Perfect Pennants
Kind and Cozy
Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla card stock
Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana ink
Naturals composition specialty paper
Gold Fancy Foil Vellum
gold bakers twine
Chevron folder
