So Sweet of You

 

All but 2 pieces of this card were in my precut/leftover stash so it actually went together faster than you might think!

Patterns and Textures

 

This card may be a little overboard with different patterns and textures.  I threw in the Chevron folder, Hexagon Hive thinlit, and itty bitty accents punches for texture and the Work of Art stamp set and Flashback designer series paper for patterns. 

 

I might stamp off the chevron image before I stamp behind the sentiment next time to lighten it up a little.

Hello There

Today's cards are made with another new hostess stamp set called Hello There.  I played around with a few different layouts using the same elements - the Hexagon Hive thinlit, Banner Framelits, Gold Fancy Foil Vellum, Itty bitty accents punches and Blackberry Bliss 3/8" stitched satin ribbon.

 

I added a panel of Blackberry Bliss behind the Fancy Foil Vellum to give it a little darker look.

 

The little flowers are layers of Fancy Foil Vellum and Blackberry Bliss card stock with a basic pearl in the middle.

 

I just love this ribbon!  It is so easy to work with and the color is a favorite as well.

Another sneak peek card for you today, although it won't be very much longer until they won't be sneak peeks anymore!  This one uses the Moonlight designer series paper stack, Hello Honey card stock and the Let Your Hair Down stamp set.

 

My Hexagon Hive die cut is Smoky Slate as is the card base and I have used Lost Lagoon ink for my sentiment.

This week has become a really busy one now that the temperatures are warm enough to load seed potatoes into trucks that are not enclosed.  I have not been near my stamp room for awhile, but hopefully I will be able to sneak in there before too long...

 

I had some leftover pieces of little hexagons from the last time I used my hexagon hive thinlit and thought I would use a few on a card.  They are layered onto Soft Sky punched hexagons.

 

The little washi tape bow was made by folding some washi tape over so that both sticky sides touch each other; then you just tie a little knot.

Hexagon Happy

 

Here is another card sample using the Hexagon Hive thinlit and I have used some Gold Fancy Foil Vellum behind it, mounting both on Basic Black card stock. 

 

In keeping with the gold theme, I added some Watercolor Wonder washi tape and stamped the sentiment with Metallic Gold ink.  The flower's ink colors are Raspberry Ripple and Gumball Green.

Prayer Journal

Lately, I have been working on some prayer journals that will be going to confirmation students at my church later this year.  They start out as a plain Epic Day This and That Journal and when they are complete, have lots of prayers, verses and sayings in them to get someone started with prayer.  There is of course, lots of room for them to add their own thoughts and ideas.

 

 

On the cover, I used some Epic Day This and That designer series paper and washi tape along with the Hexagon Hive thinlits die and some silver basic buttons.

 

The verses, prayers, etc. that I have compiled to put into the journals are printed using My Digital Studio and when they are on the page look something like this...

 

I add stamped images and sentiments throughout the journals as well...

 

Hopefully they will find the gift useful and even enjoy the variety of colors and patterns throughout the book.

 

 

April Stamp Club projects

 

It is already time for another month of stamp club projects, yeah!  

 

For the layout, I went with Modern Medley designer series paper and paired it with the Hexagon hive thinlit and On Film framelits.  The two small Basic Black rectangles on the left page are the pieces that were cut from the middle of the On Film framelit you see on the right page.

 

I needed some bright colors for at least one of the projects this month and some help in remembering that spring is coming (hopefully we are done with the blizzards!).  I used Delicate Doilies and Peachy Keen as my stamp sets and added some Candy Dots for accents.

 

Finally, a graduation card using the Pomp and Circumstance set and some silver basics buttons.

Burlap and Sunshine

 

While browsing through a craft store a few weeks ago, I found some stretched burlap (like a stretched canvas) and thought it would be fun to decorate.  My daughter has been asking me to add new creations to her walls so I thought she might like this piece...

 

Again, the Hexagon Hive framelits are in play in this piece, I just cut off the edges to give them a rougher look and placed them behind the picture and saying.

 

The smaller hexagons attached to the die cut are pieces that came out of another one I had die cut from Island Indigo card stock.

 

I added a little texture with the Chevron embossing folder on some Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and also added some 5/8" natural chevron ribbon.

 

My saying is one I found on Pinterest that I liked and then I put it into My Digital Studio and added some stamps around and behind it before printing it out.

You're Lovely

 

Although I have had the Hexagon Hive thinlit for a while, I have not had a lot of time to play around with it other than one card I shared with you awhile ago.  There will be another project this week using it as well so stay tuned!

 

For this card, I paired it with some wood grain Naturals Composition specialty paper and the Deco Label Framelits.

 

The paper that the image is stamped on is actually one of the designer papers in the Downtown Grunge collection of My Digital Studio.  I had printed it for something else and thought the Soft Suede ink and this stamp would look nice on some of the scraps I had left over.

Make a Wish Cupcake!

 

This is my first attempt with the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die and I have to say I had some trouble the first time with removing the card stock from the metal.  As I attempted it a second time, I thought about wax paper, but didn't have any in my stamp room so I tried a plastic Stampin' Up! bag instead thinking it might work like the wax paper...perfect!  It came out very easily this time...

 

Behind the Hexagon Hive, I have a layer of Whisper White that was embossed with the Stripes Impressions folder and then I added a scrap of Watercolor Wonder designer series paper on the top and my stamped images.
