August Stamp Club Projects

Where does the time go?  Time to share stamp club projects again!  This month I chose to focus on the Farmers Market designer series paper and the colors that coordinate for the layout.

The first card shown uses Watercolor Wishes and Big on You (which was in the occasions catalog) but for our club I actually used the Hello Life stamp set sentiment.

The second card focuses on the Color Me Irresistible specialty paper and Serene Silhouettes.  The sentiment is from the Watercolor Wishes card kit stamp set.

Again, the layout...

We always have room if these project look like fun - both in person and virtually, the Stamp Clubs are a blast.  Let me know if you are interested in joining us!

Supplies:

Blendability Background

I am still working on trying to master the Blendabilities markers, but while I do that I also play with them a little without blending them together.  This is another sentiment free card and I stamped the Serene Silhouettes image on Very Vanilla card stock with Memento black ink and then used the lightest Coastal Cabana Blendabilities marker on the background.

I tried to make it a little uneven so it looks sort of like a sky and I think it worked out pretty well.

Supplies:
Serene Silhouettes
Memento Black ink
Very Vanilla, Night of Navy, Kraft, Pear Pizzazz card stock
linen thread
Deco labels framelits
Arrows folder
Coastal Cabana Blendabilities markers

Confirmation Blessing

I have already shared the gifts I plan to give the confirmation students at my church on Sunday, so I thought I would share the cards with you as well.

They are quite simple cards actually using the Serene Silhouettes stamp set and a Confirmation Blessing I found while searching online that I printed out.  There are a few variations on the same theme, but you get the idea.  I stamped a cross from the retired Crosses of Hope on the envelopes as well.

Supplies:
Serene Silhouettes
Baked Brown Sugar ink
Whisper White, Night of Navy, Baked Brown Sugar Crumb Cake, and Coastal Cabana card stock
Wooden essential elements

Serene Thank You

This week has become a really busy one now that the temperatures are warm enough to load seed potatoes into trucks that are not enclosed.  I have not been near my stamp room for awhile, but hopefully I will be able to sneak in there before too long...

I had some leftover pieces of little hexagons from the last time I used my hexagon hive thinlit and thought I would use a few on a card.  They are layered onto Soft Sky punched hexagons.

The little washi tape bow was made by folding some washi tape over so that both sticky sides touch each other; then you just tie a little knot.

Supplies:
Lots of Thanks, Serene Silhouettes
Early Espresso, Crumb Cake ink
Early Espresso, Soft Sky, Very Vanilla card stock
Naturals Composition specialty paper
Labels collection framelits
Hexagon hive thinlit
Hexagon punch
Watercolor wonder washi tape
Vintage trinkets

Simple Sympathy

As I have mentioned in the past, I have some trouble with Clean and Simple cards, I always tend to think they need a little something more...

This card is about as Clean and Simple as I get and I do love the way it turned out.  I realized I hadn't used my Serene Silhouettes stamp set in awhile and came up with this card this afternoon (it might just show up in my stamp a stacks soon as well!).

I used Soft Suede ink on Very Vanilla card stock and really like the combination of the colors and stamps.

Supplies:
Serene Silhouettes, Love and Sympathy
Soft Suede ink
Very Vanilla card stock

Masking Tape Background

I tried out the masking tape background technique for the first time with this card.  It was very easy to do and I like the effect it has on the card stock.  A little messy maybe, but inky fingers usually mean it was fun :)

Supplies:
Loving Thoughts, Serene Silhouettes
Pistachio Pudding, Baked Brown Sugar and Very Vanilla card stock
Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar ink
Venetian Romance designer series paper

Serene Sympathy

This card was originally supposed be for a sketch challenge at www.technostamper.com but I didn't get to it on time so I just decided to make it anyway and share it late!

I sponged some Naturals Composition Specialty paper with Primrose Petals ink (I think I should have used a lighter color though and would do that next time).

Supplies:
Loving Thoughts, Serene Silhouettes
Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Primrose Petals card stock
Crumb Cake and Primrose Petals ink
Naturals composition specialty paper

Serene Sympathy

This is another "scrap" card that I put together with the Serene Silhouettes stamp set.  I used Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and So Saffron as my stamped panel colors and the background is Baja Breeze.

The sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake and comes from the Loving Thoughts stamp set.  I think I might play around a little with this one possibly texturing the background or adding a background stamp.

Silhouettes of Happiness

For some reason, I had a bunch of labels die cut and stamped with this sentiment from Pursuit of Happiness.  In the next week or so you might see a lot of different cards I made trying to use them up!

This one uses the Sycamore Street designer series paper (Sale-a-bration freebie) and also some of the great free ribbon that you can also get during Sale-a-bration (don't miss out, it ends on March 22nd!!)

I added an image from Serene Silhouettes to my Crumb Cake base with Early Espresso ink to finish the card.

Peaceful Memories

I have been in need of lots of sympathy cards lately so in the next little while I plan to show you a few new ones that I have made to restock my card stash.

For this one, I used some Tea for Two dsp as my background and stamped my sentiment right on it since it is light enough to show the ink.

Supplies:
Blessings From Heaven, Serene Silhouettes
Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake card stock
Tea for Two dsp
Crumb Cake ink
Victoria crochet trim
Vintage trinkets

Serene Silhouettes, Love and Sympathy
Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze ink
Baja Breeze, Very Vanilla card stock
Parker's Patterns dsp
Naturals 7/16" ribbon
vintage trinkets

Kindness

The sentiment on this card is from my favorite retired set called Occasional Quotes.  I added an image from Serene Silhouettes and some Print Poetry dsp.

The background is Cherry Cobbler embossed with the Honeycomb folder and I have also used Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla card stock.

Serene Mosaic

Our Late Night Stamper challenge this week is to use mosaic on our projects.  I chose to do a card with a technique I have used before, but it has been a long time.

I took some leftover Sticky Sheets that I had and cut a strip to 1 1/2" x 5 1/4".  Then I randomly cut up some pieces of Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Naturals composition paper (I used the back side) and placed them on the sticky sheet leaving space between them.

After I had enough pieces on the sticky sheet, I covered the rest with Early Espresso embossing powder and used my heat tool to set it.  Very easy to do and I like the way it turned out on this card.

Supplies:
Teeny Tiny Wishes
Serene Silhouettes
Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Early Espresso card stock
Naturals Composition paper
Soft Suede classic ink
Vanilla velvet ribbon
Early Espresso embossing powder
heat tool
sticky sheets

Two Hands

This week our challenge at Late Night Stampers is a Clean and Simple card with lots of white space.  I  have a terrible time with those, I always want to add...but this is what I came up with.

I sponged some Wild Wasabi in the corner and then added some Bashful Blue over the top.  The image from Serene Silhouettes is stamped in Early Espresso and the sentiment from Trust God is also stamped with Early Espresso.

With all the white on the card, my camera didn't like to focus when I used my white backdrop so I tried this instead today.

World Card Making Day

Happy World Card Making Day!  I am celebrating by hosting a Stamp A Stack this morning, drop in if you would like!  We will be at Zion Lutheran Church, rural Hoople in the basement.

How are you celebrating?

Today's card is another one using the Serene Silhouettes stamp set.  I have used some Floral District designer series paper along with Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake, Raspberry Ripple and Primrose Petals.

The sentiment is from the Sassy Salutations stamp set.
