Happy New Year!

There is a Simply Sent card kit on the Year End Closeout called Snowflake Season which comes with envelopes and some fun punch out ornaments.  The piece around the sentiment on this card is what is left after you punch out the ornaments and I thought they would make nice frames (you will see another example soon).

I thought the sentiment was a good one for New Years Day, maybe a resolution to do more for yourself in the new year.  It comes from the Hello Life stamp set in the Occasions catalog.

Supplies:
Hello Life
Blackberry Bliss ink
Whisper White card stock
Lost Lagoon satin ribbon

Six Sided Thanks

This is a stamp set I don't pull out often and I think it is because I over think how to use it most of the time.  The card turned out a little busy, but I still think I like it...

I tore a corner off the Epic Day This and That designer series paper and placed a piece of Naturals Composition specialty paper behind it.

Then, I took a piece of Daffodil Delight and tore the edge and distressed it a little before adding the stamped and punched images.  To top it off, there is some linen thread and a vintage trinket.

Supplies:
Six Sided Sampler
Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake, Gumball Green ink
Naturals Composition specialty paper
Epic Day this and that designer series paper
Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Daffodil Delight card stock
linen thread
vintage trinkets
hexagon punch

Hardwood Congratulations

Happy Congratulations was one of the stamp sets in the Occasions catalog that really did nothing for me and I was not going to purchase it.  That happens to me during every catalog and more often than not, I see fun examples by other people and completely change my mind.

For this card, I used a small piece of watercolor paper and added some Coastal Cabana ink with my aqua painter.  Then, after it dried, I stamped the image and sentiment with Soft Suede ink.

There are 3 vintage trinkets on the side and the Hardwood image is stamped with Soft Suede ink as well and I added a little sponging with the same color.

Sweet Baby

The Late Night Stampers challenge right now is - Use a framelits or die on your project - let's see how creative we can get!  I chose to use the Banners framelits and Baby, We've Grown stamp set from the Occasions catalog

For the blue shoes, I used my Marina Mist marker on the stamp so I didn't get the "cute boy" saying included in my images.

Supplies:
Baby, We've Grown
Marina Mist, Smoky Slate, Whisper White card stock
Basic Gray, Marina Mist and Soft Sky ink
Watercolor Wonder designer series paper
linen thread
vintage trinkets
Banners framelits

Peaceful Memories

I have been in need of lots of sympathy cards lately so in the next little while I plan to show you a few new ones that I have made to restock my card stash.

For this one, I used some Tea for Two dsp as my background and stamped my sentiment right on it since it is light enough to show the ink.

Supplies:
Blessings From Heaven, Serene Silhouettes
Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake card stock
Tea for Two dsp
Crumb Cake ink
Victoria crochet trim
Vintage trinkets

Sharing Some More Love

Well, I didn't get these posted before Valentine's Day but thought I would still share them with you.  A few of them could be used for weddings, etc. as well.

The stamp set I used on these is called You are Loved.

A variety of framelits, embossing folders and embellishments were used as well as the Artisan Embellishment kit.

The saying on the card above is actually printed on the dsp (More Amore).

Hope you enjoy them!

Celebrate

This is one of my favorite color combinations and I know I go back to it a lot with any shade of browns and pinks.  For this one, I used Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Pink Pirouette.

Behind the flower I used one of the Delicate Doilies die cuts - when you use it behind something like this you don't have to worry if all the little pieces have come out :)

Supplies:
Fabulous Phrases, Hello Doily, and Creative elements stamp sets
Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla card stock
Soft Suede and Pink Pirouette classic ink
basic pearls
Beau Chateau fabric
vintage trinkets
Delicate Doilies sizzlit
1 3/4" circle punch

Need for Speed

This is one of Stampin' Up!'s new advertisements for some magazines - isn't is fun?!

The card I have for you today is one using the melted water color crayon background that I have shown you before.  I added some Need for Speed images that I had cut out over the top along with the sentiment from Daring Adventure.

The card uses Very Vanilla, Basic Gray, Elegant Eggplant and Bashful Blue card stock and Basic Gray and Bashful Blue classic ink.

I added a few Vintage trinkets to the ends of the Basic Gray card stock layer as well.

Preserved for You

I love this collection of items from the Holiday Mini catalog...I seem like I have a creative block when I go to use it most of the time though.  This is what I came up with one day...

I used the Orchard Harvest designer series paper (love these colors!) along with the Perfectly Preserved Bundle (stamp set and framelits).

I added some cotton ribbon that I cut the sides off and pulled some threads out of and a vintage trinket or two to complete the card.

The Last One

The final Artistan Award entry - a 3D box that I decorated on one side with my daughter, Maddie and on the other my sons, Hunter and Wyatt.  I know this was my favorite project and definitely another one I wish I could have back!

The outside of the box was covered with First Edition DSP on the front and all sides.

The stamp set I used was Field Flowers and I also threw in Tiny Tags for the little vintage tag I added by the Trinket key.

On the boy's side, I used I Dig You and Word Play for my stamp sets and the Berry Blossoms dsp and Tea Party Simply Scrappin' Kit dsp.

I added the brads from the Vintage trinkets collection to all the "moving parts" of the equipment and used buttons for boulders.

Enjoy Life

I took these pictures of Wyatt at the lake last summer and wanted to do something fun with them.  Daring Adventures seemed like the right stamp set to go with the project and I also used the Well Worn Designer Series paper so this goes with our Late Night Stampers Challenge this week as well.

There are not a lot of embellishments and it kind of feels like there should be a few more things added, but I just don't know what at the moment.

The glass that came with the frame is left out so the panels can pop out just a little bit.

Supplies:
Daring Adventure
Well Worn DSP
Early Espresso, River Rock, Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze card stock and inks
Vintage trinkets
Curly Label punch
Chocolate Chip satin ribbon
sponges

Black White and Cherry Cobbler

I have another sample for this week's Late Night Stampers challenge of Black, White and one other color, this time using Cherry Cobbler and the Delicate Doilies stamp set

I didn't achieve the effect I started out with in my head, but I still like the card.  The top layer is embossed using irridescent ice and sponged with Basic Black ink.  For the other black layer, I stamped my image with White Craft ink and then carefully sponged Cherry Cobbler on top while it was still wet.

I added a vintage trinket brad, some black satin ribbon, Cherry Cobbler seam  binding, embossed hearts and a little tag with an image stamped from the Tiny Tags set and punched out with the jewelry  tag punch.

Thoughts and prayers

Today I am sharing another sympathy card, this time with the challenge guidelines for our Late Night Stampers group using leaves or trees.

After I stamped the tree and sentiment on my Very Vanilla card stock, I used some sponges to add a little More Mustard, Cherry Cobbler and Cajun Craze.  I think if I made this card again, I would leave out the Cherry Cobbler sponging and maybe do some Crumb Cake or Soft Suede instead.

Supplies:
Thoughts and Prayers
Very Vanilla, More Mustard, Early Espresso card stock
Spice Cake DSP
Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, More Mustard, Cajun Craze classic ink
vintage trinkets
Victoria crochet trim ribbon

Ornate Joy

I used some Holly Berry Bouquet specialty paper and fabric on this card which also features the Ornate Blossom stamp and the sentiment is from a retired stamp set.

I used Whisper White, Real Red and Wild Wasabi for my colors and added a little safety pin vintage trinket to my fabric knot.
