VC Rocks Blog Hop

It's the first VC Rocks blog hop of the year!  You may have come from Deborah Robb's blog and at any time you may go to the VC Rocks blog to see the full list of participants.

We are using the theme, Color My World, and I have chosen to use watercolor crayons
and markers in my projects.
My first project is a card using watercolor crayons.  I stamped my image on watercolor paper with Black Stazon ink and then colored in the flower and leaves with Not Quite Navy and Old Olive crayons.  I blended the colors in with my aqua painter and then added some Perfect Plum to the flower and used the aqua painter again.

After I had everything on the card, I spritzed a mixture of rubbing alcohol and Champagne mist shimmer paint over it all.  I always have a hard time getting that to show up in the photos.

Supplies:
Because I care, Just Believe stamp sets
Framed Tulips impressions folder
Old Olive, Night of Navy, Very Vanilla and Watercolor paper
hemp twine
Black stazon ink
watercolor crayons
aqua painter
dimensionals
basic pearls
word window punch
modern label punch
champagne shimmer paint

My next project was a super quick and easy one that would work well as a little gift too.
I picked up a frame at Target with 2 - 4 x 6" openings and just added some simple panels.

The left side is a Certainly Celery base that I ran through the Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder and on top of that I added some Whisper White card stock that I embossed with the Flower Garden impressions folder.  There are a couple butterflies cut out with the Beautiful Wings embosslit on it as well attached with glue dots.

The right side has a So Saffron base that was also embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder.  I used my markers to add some flowers to the Whisper White layer using the Love and Care hostess level 2 stamp set in the Summer Mini catalog.  The sentiment is from the Refuge and Strength stamp set and I punched it out with the scallop oval punch and popped it up with dimensionals.

Supplies:
Refuge and Stregth, Love and Care stamp sets
Flower Garden, Vintage Wallpaper impressions folders
Beautiful Wings embosslit
Big Shot
So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Peach Parfait, Regal Rose, Pink Pirouette card stocks
Baja Breeze, Certainly Celery, Pretty in Pink markers
Baja Breeze classic ink
scallop oval punch
dimensionals

And now for some blog candy!  If you leave a comment, I will put your name into a drawing for this stamp set...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed the projects!  Your next stop to Color Your World is at Ellen Kemper's blog - enjoy!

Great Friend

Here are some more of those little circles I mentioned awhile ago that we were trying to help a friend use up at our March scrapbooking retreat.

I used some retired paper (Pale Plum) and some altered paper from a swap I did last year at VC Rocks.  The border is done with the Framed Tulips impressions folder and I added some dimension to the circles with the Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder.  The card needed a little bling so I added a few basic rhinestones as well.  The stamp is from the All Holidays set.

Life is Good

I am excited to share the latest of my projects that posted on UStamp with Dawn and Friends Big Shot Brillance, it is one of my favorites and I love the way it came together.

The base is a 11 x 14 canvas and I used tons of Big Shot dies and impressions folders and materials on it.

There is still time to come over and see all of the project by our awesome designers!

Congratulations

Another version of a card I have made before, but with darker colors as the background.
I used Bravo Burgundy and Night of Navy card stocks and ribbon along with Almost Artichoke, Bashful Blue (sponging on flower background) and Bravo Burgundy ink.
The impressions folder is the Framed Tulips folder in the Occasions Mini catalog.
I added a sentiment and stamp on the inside as well, the sentiment is from Occasional Quotes and the other stamp set used is Because I Care.

Friends

I used the color challenge at Create with Connie and Mary for this card and pulled out a stamp set that I don't seem to use very often anymore - Friends Never Fade.  The colors for the challenge were So Saffron, Real Red, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.

I also used some white taffeta ribbon, Real Red classic ink, and the Framed Tulips, Perfect Polka Dots and Vintage Wallpaper impressions folders.

Clear Case card holder

I just love all the ways you can use these clear cases that hold our clear mount stamps.  I used this one to put cards and envelopes in as a gift and added a couple pockets on the inside.  One thing I learned though is not to put too many embellishments on the cards or you can't fit too many inside :)

I used the Springtime Vintage Designer Series paper and fabric as well as some impressions folders - Framed Tulips and Vintage Wallpaper when I decorated and added a butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies die and some basic pearls.

A CASE of Bliss

This card was one I received from Shelly Meneley at the Minneapolis Regional in a swap.  I love this Sale-a-bration set and wanted to recreate it with a few slight changes.
So, this is what I did for mine.  I used Marina Mist and Basic Black as my base and just changed the embellishment to a vintage trinket.  Very quick and easy to make!  The Designer Series paper is Newsprint and the impressions folder is Framed Tulips.

January Stamp Club

I tried to work with mostly new Occassions mini products this time, you might notice one of the cards is a slightly different version of one I had posted earlier too.

The layout uses the Notes and Details stamp set and the Hearts and brackets die.
Valentine Defined is the stamp set used here and Poppy Parade is the card base color.  Again, I have used the Framed Tulips impressions folder.

The final card features the Springtime vintage designer series paper (as does the layout) and a hostess set called Punch Potpourri.

Inspired by Nature

This card was created with Mary Jo's sketch in mind.  I used the new embossing folder called Framed tulips and cut off the corner and just used that.
Colors:
Pear Pizazz, Marina Mist, So Saffron, Whisper White
Stamp Sets:
Inspired by Nature, Just Believe
Other accessories:
Dotted scallop ribbon border punch
Framed tuplips impressions folder

Framed thank you

This is another sneak peak of the Framed Tulips impressions folder that will be in the Occassions Mini catalog.
I used Crumb Cake for the base of the card and Whisper White and Bashful Blue card stock for the rest.  The inks are Bashful Blue and Night of Navy and I added some hemp twine and anvintage trinket.  The background behind the flower is done with block stamping and the stamp set is Because I Care.
