When You Arise

When my daughter and I were looking through the new catalog the first time, the stamp set called Enjoy Life caught her eye because of the sentiment that says "Wake up. Kick butt. Repeat."  She decided that it was one we should get and share!

I have paired a different sentiment from that set with Lovely as a Tree for this card that also incorporates some Tranquil Textures card stock and linen thread.

Supplies:
Enjoy Life, Lovely as a Tree
Tranquil Tide, Soft Suede ink
Tranquil Tide, Pacific Point, Very Vanilla card stock
linen thread
Tranquil Textures dsp

“Having the opportunity to create a stamp set was the experience of a lifetime! I wanted to create a set that represented both of my children. They are complete opposites but are so adventuresome and full of spunk. I included some inspirational quotes and sayings that we all live by.”

Flourishing Textures

When I created some sympathy cards using the Lovely as a Tree and Flourishing Phrases stamp sets, I wanted to stamp on some of the Wood Textures designer series paper.  To be honest, I am not completely satisfied with how the card turned out so I may play with the idea a little more another time.

Behind the Wood Textures I used some True Gentleman designer series paper with a predominantly Tranquil Tide color.  For an accent I used one of the wood elements that was included with the arch 2018 Paper Pumpkin as a free gift.  One side is wood and the other is white and colorable with the Stampin' Blends.

Flourishing Phrases, Lovely As a Tree

Brusho Crystals and Lovely As a Tree

A few days ago I played around with the Brusho Crystal Colour kit trying some combinations on both Glossy White and watercolor card stock.  The card below uses Glossy paper and water to blend in the colors - I think next time I used the Glossy paper I will try alcohol instead of water...

I like the background but have seen some amazing examples others have created (lots of practice ahead of me!) so I plan to keep trying it out.

Supplies:
Lovely As a Tree
Memento Black ink
Glossy White card stock
Night of Navy, Basic Black and Real Red card stock

Painted Tree Sympathy

Lovely as a Tree always works well for sympathy cards in my opinion so I paired it with some different patterns from the Painted Autumn designer series paper collection for these cards.

Beside the tree, I used an image from the Timeless Textures stamp set and I tried out a couple different colors using Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party on the cards shown here.

Supplies:
Lovely as a Tree, Timeless Textures, Flourishing Phrases
Early Espresso, Pool Party, Pear Pizzazz ink
Very Vanilla, Early Espresso card stock

The Great Hunter

My oldest son went on his second deer hunt this fall and it was again a successful (and quick) hunt.  We are fortunate to live along the river and have some nice places to look for deer right in our backyard.

I didn't get as many pictures this year as I did for his first one a year before so I made this layout a one photo page.

I stamped some evergreens from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set and added some English Garden designer series paper, burlap ribbon and some elements from a Project Life collection.

Supplies:
Lovely As a Tree
Early Espresso ink
Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie card stock
burlap ribbon
English Garden dsp
wooden essentials elements
cotton ribbon
Project Life accessories (epoxy circles)
linen thread

Sentiment Free

This is one of those cards that I plan to add a sentiment to the inside when I decide to use it.  I wanted to leave the front of the card without it so that I wouldn't disrupt the image.

I stamped my Lovely as a Tree image with Early Espresso ink and then added layers with the Gorgeous Grunge and Work of Art stamp sets using Lost Lagoon, Crumb Cake and Pool Party ink.

Then I wrapped around some linen thread and added a designer button to finish it off.

Wooden Elements

Again, I have run out of sympathy cards and wanted to make something with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set, but a little different that using the tree images.  I chose to use the leaf image behind the sentiment from Love and Sympathy.

There is a strip of Color Me Autumn designer series paper and a Autumn wooden element added as well to keep the look simple, but add a little extra.

Supplies:
Lovely as a Tree, Love and Sympathy
Mossy Meadow, Baked Brown Sugar ink
Very Vanilla, Mossy Meadow card stock

May Stamp Club

Time for stamp club projects again!  I used several of the 2013-2015 In Colors this time around since I knew they would be available when the new catalog comes out.  May is sometimes hard to plan projects for - before the catalog retires, but also before I have new product to create samples.

The layout uses the Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar along with the coordinating dsp stack.

I chose the Lovely as a Tree stamp set for the background on this card and Trust God for my sentiment, throwing in some Soho Subway dsp and the Honeycomb folder.

The final project uses the Blessed Easter stamp set and is sentiment free.

Supplies:
Blessed Easter, Trust God, Lovely As a Tree
Baked Brown Sugar, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding ink
Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White, Strawberry Slush, Crumb Cake, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla card stock
In Color 2013-2015 dsp stack
Decorative Label punch

Thoughts of You

These cards came about from some watercoloring I had done awhile ago on several sheets of watercolor paper and set aside.  I used Island Indigo ink in the background and stamped the single tree from Lovely as a Tree with Early Espresso.

I thought it looked too plain with just the matted image so I added some Gold Fancy Foil Designer vellum behind it and stamped my sentiment with Gold Mettalic ink.

On one of the cards, I dipped a Very Vintage button into the Gold Mettalic ink before I ran some gold baker's twine through it.

Supplies:
Lovely as a Tree
Loving Thoughts
Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Soft Sky and watercolor paper
Metallic gold ink
Gold Fancy foil vellum

Lovely as a Tree

Our Late Night Stampers challenge is a color combination this time using Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry and Tangerine Tango.  The last two colors are rarely used in my stamp room so that makes the challenge a little tougher for me.

I decided to sponge all of the colors on Very Vanilla card stock, but when I sponged the Early Espresso, I placed a scrap over to the top of a portion of it so that there was some card stock showing with only the lighter colors and that is where I placed my images.

I stamped the single tree image on the inside on Crushed Curry matted with Early Espresso.

For the sentiment, I altered the Decorative Label punch and then layered the same punch behind it.

Supplies:
Lovely as a Tree, Trust God
Tangerine Tango, Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Crushed Curry card stock and ink

Memories

I really love using the Distressed Dots background stamp for all kinds of things, scrapbook backgrounds, cards, tags, etc.  It is retiring, but I know it is one stamp I won't let go of for awhile.

On this card, I used Wisteria Wonder ink with it for the background on Very Vanilla card stock.  The tree comes from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set and the sentiment from Blessings from Heaven.

I paired Soft Suede with the Very Vanilla and Wisteria Wonder and added some Artisan Embellishment Kit lace. The tree image is stamped over faux mother of pearl background that I used the champagne shimmer paint to create.

Your Kindness

I always seem to want to sponge a blue sky and green grass when I stamp this image, right now it would be wonderful to see that outside instead of all this snow!

I stamped the trees with Early Espresso and used Bashful Blue and Wild Wasabi to sponge the sky and grass.

The card on the left has a Cherry Cobbler background embossed with the Fancy Fan folder and the one on the right uses a Bashful Blue background embossed with the Cloudy Day folder.

Masculine Birthday

This is a fairly simple masculine birthday card using the Woodgrain folder and an image from the Lovely as a Tree stamp set.

I used Whisper White, Soft Suede and Early Espresso card stock and Early Espresso classic ink.  The ribbon is Soft Suede taffeta and my sentiment comes from the  retired Occasional Quotes stamp set.

Another Confirmation card

I am staying with the Lovely as a Tree theme today with a confirmation card.  I used some retired designer series paper along with Pear Pizzazz that was textured with the Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder.

The sentiment was printed with My Digital Studio and then punched out with the word window punch and layered onto the modern label punch.

Colors:  Early Espresso, Pear Pizzazz, Soft Suede, Whisper White

Wonderful You

The card I have for you today is a simple one using some texture and neutral colors.

The stamp sets are Loving Thoughts and Lovely as a Tree and I used Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake and Soft Suede as my colors.  The texture comes from the Square Lattice impressions folder and I have used dimensionals on all the layers as well.

New Clearance Rack items!

Stampin' Up! has just added lots of great new items on the clearance rack - punches, fabric, albums and so much more!  You can check out the new items by clicking on the picture below.

This is another Lovely as a tree card I did with some background sponging and is just one layer with a little embossed strip on the side.

The sentiment is from Sincere Salutations and I used Early Espresso, Garden Green and Bashful Blue inks on the card.

Lovely as a Tree Birthday

I ran across a card somewhat similar to this on Pinterest and must not have pinned it again, if anyone knows the original creator, let me know and I will update my post!

I stamped the tree image a few time and then used some Bashful Blue ink and a sponge to create the background.  The sentiment is from Upsy Daisy.
