Burlap Sympathy

In the next few weeks, my posting might be a little sporadic with wheat harvest getting closer and the kids starting school in a few weeks.  Hopefully I can find time to keep up with the fun stuff too!!

For this card, I used the Burlap background stamp with some Sahara Sand ink and then added some images from the Petal Palette stamp set using Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow ink.  The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and I have lightly stamped some of the leaves on that layer as well.

Flourishing Textures

When I created some sympathy cards using the Lovely as a Tree and Flourishing Phrases stamp sets, I wanted to stamp on some of the Wood Textures designer series paper.  To be honest, I am not completely satisfied with how the card turned out so I may play with the idea a little more another time.

Behind the Wood Textures I used some True Gentleman designer series paper with a predominantly Tranquil Tide color.  For an accent I used one of the wood elements that was included with the arch 2018 Paper Pumpkin as a free gift.  One side is wood and the other is white and colorable with the Stampin' Blends.

Friends

This card came together by using some scraps and a stamp set I had not pulled out in quite awhile.  I began with the designer series paper piece from the Painted with Love specialty collection that is in the Occasions catalog.  Next came the oval which was a leftover die cut from a make and take project.

The oval is stamped with a flower from Flourishing Phrases in Powder Pink and the sentiment comes from Just Add Text and is in Basic Gray.  I decided to add a heart accent from the Hearts and Stars elements collection with some glue dots and then some enamel dots that were leftover from a Paper Pumpkin kit.

Supplies:
Flourishing Phrases, Just Add Text
Powder Pink, Basic Gray ink
Whisper White, Basic Gray, Rich Razzleberry card stock

Sympathy Wishes

The card I have to share with you today is a simple three layer card with lots of stamping using the Blooms and Wishes stamp set.  For the colors, I chose Perfect Plum, Berry Burst, Fresh Fig and Pear Pizzazz and added some Pool Party and Crumb Cake card stock.

It is really light, but I have added the Watercolor Wash image behind all the flowers and sentiment with Soft Sky ink as well.

The flower in this stamp set always draw me to them and I love that they can be layered.  Fro the sentiment, I chose to you the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

Supplies:
Blooms and Wishes, Flourishing Phrases, Watercolor Wash

Strength and Prayers

This is the final hotel assembled card!  I used more the of the Brusho altered glossy card stock and added an image from the retired Strength and Prayers stamp set to it with Memento Black ink.

My sentiments are from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and because I had a little bit of smearing on the card base from the Brusho crystal papers, I added some sponging in Night of Navy and Pear Pizzazz to cover it up.

Supplies:
Strength and Prayers, Flourishing Phrases
Memento Black, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz ink

Brusho Birthday

A little over a week ago I knew there was a good possibility I was going to be stranded in a hotel room for a few days due to a storm that was going to hit during the time that my son was competing in a state math competition.  Of course I decided to put together some things so that I could create a few cards if that happened!

I had played around with the Brusho crystals again and had a few pages of altered Glossy card stock ready to cut up and use so I cut all my pieces and stamped all the images and sentiments for a few different card layouts.  This is one of the cards and I will share the rest with you in the next few days.
I left the punching, hand cutting and assembly to do in the hotel.

Supplies:
Flourishing Phrases, Special Celebrations
Memento Black ink, Berry Burst ink
Peekaboo Peach, Berry Burst, Whisper White, Glossy White card stock
Brusho crystals
Decorative label punch

Painted Tree Sympathy

Lovely as a Tree always works well for sympathy cards in my opinion so I paired it with some different patterns from the Painted Autumn designer series paper collection for these cards.

Beside the tree, I used an image from the Timeless Textures stamp set and I tried out a couple different colors using Pear Pizzazz and Pool Party on the cards shown here.

Supplies:
Lovely as a Tree, Timeless Textures, Flourishing Phrases

Wood Textures Sympathy

Today's card is a simple one that could really be embellished to add more texture if you wanted to.  I started with a piece of Wood textures designer series paper and stamped the flourish on it from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set with Soft Suede ink.

Behind the designer series paper, I added a retired doily and then a strip of retired Lost Lagoon card stock holds the sentiment on the front.

Supplies:

Sheet Music Note Set

I was really happy to see the addition of Acetate Card Boxes in the Holiday catalog.  They are perfect to use for gifts of cards (and of course other things too) and you can fit at least 5 standard cards and envelopes in each one.  This box contains 6 cards and envelopes so it depends on how many layers you are using on each card.

I wrapped the box with some Painted Autumn designer series paper and added some Venetian lace trim around it for decoration.

The cards in the box also used some Painted Autumn designer series paper along with the Treble Clef die cut from the Musical Instruments framelits.

Supplies:
Sheet Music, Flourishing Phrases
Soft Suede, Peekaboo Peach, Pear Pizzazz ink
Very Vanilla card stock
linen thread
2" circle punch
Gold foil paper

Flourishing Sympathy

The card I have to show you today doesn't use any sneak peek Holiday catalog items.  It is just a fairly simple sympathy card using the Better Together and Flourishing Phrases stamp sets. I have seen several used in a similar way on Pinterest and thought I would put one of my own together.

I chose Peekaboo Peach ink for the flourish in the background and stamped the image twice but only inked one time.

To add a little texture, I added some enamel dots randomly and on part of the flourish image as well.

Supplies:
Better Together, Flourishing Phrases
Early Espresso, Peekaboo Peach ink
Whisper White, Pool Party card stock

Just a Note

Happy 4th of July!  I don't have an patriotic cards to share with you today, but hope your holiday is fun!

Today I have two cards using the same layout and stamp sets, but different designer series paper and colors.  I started with the Crafting Forever and Flourishing Phrases stamp sets and went from there.

My image was stamped on Shimmery white card stock and designer series paper first and then I cut out the container (dsp) and added it to the Shimmery card stock after I colored in the paintbrushes with markers.

For the top card, I used Fresh Florals and Color Theory designer series paper and on the card below, I used the Naturally Eclectic designer series paper.

The second card is put together the same way as the first one...

Supplies:
Flourishing Phrases, Crafting Forever
Basic Black, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Basic Gray, Pool Party, Bermuda Bay ink and markers
Whisper White, Shimmery White, Peekaboo Peach, Night of Navy, Basic Gray card stock

Blooms and Bliss Sympathy

One of the items I always am sad to see retire is the designer series paper.  I kind of get attached to some of them even though I know that there will be fun new ones coming in the new catalog.  This collection is one I will especially miss - the Blooms and Bliss designer series paper pack.  I just love the color combinations...If you would like to see the retiring list, you can go here...remember that the products are while supplies last.

I chose to use a piece of this designer series paper in the background and then took a piece of Whisper White card stock and used the Blooms and Wishes stamp set to make a pattern with similar colors behind my sentiment.  The sentiment is from Flourishing Phrases and is stamped with Early Espresso ink.

Supplies:
Blooms and Wishes, Flourishing Phrases
Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso ink

February Stamp Club projects

This month I incorporated the Pretty Pocket cards - a Sale-a-bration free item - into my 12" x 12" layout using it as a journaling card and holder.

It took a little bit of cutting on the card base to make that work, but you could also probably just attach the whole card base to the card stock if you wanted to as well.  I ended up using the back that I cut off the card base as one of my photo mats.

The first card uses the Special reason stamp set and coordinating Stylish Stems framelits.  I also added some 3/8" metallic ribbon (SAB 2017) as an accent.

Both cards showcase the Falling in love designer series paper and I have also used the Love Notes framelits on the second card on it's edge.

The sentiments on the second card are from Flourishing Phrases.

If these project look like fun and you would like more information on either my Virtual Club or my monthly stamp club, please contact me here!

Blue Sympathy

Today's card has lots of layers but not a lot of complexity.  I considered making the card over replacing the Whisper White with Crumb Cake or another neutral color to see if that makes it look better but I haven't tried it yet... soon...

I used some Floral Boutique designer series paper and layered it onto some Cherry Cobbler card stock before adding a strip of burlap ribbon over the top of that.

Supplies:
Heartfelt Sympathy, Flourishing Phrases
Night of Navy ink
Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler, Night of Navy card stock
burlap ribbon
