Speedy Birthday

I just have too many leftovers and scraps laying around and was working on making that pile a little smaller again...

 



 

I mixed some Island Indigo with Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake and Baked Brown Sugar card stock and added some Naturals Composition specialty paper and In color designer paper stacks.

Yippee Skippee Birthday

My daughter was invited to a birthday party for a couple of boys that are in her class at school and their theme was mindcraft...well I don't know anything about mindcraft so I thought I would wing it with squares and textures...not sure how they liked them :)

 



 

I used the Pop 'n Cuts card base to start with and then added the Label Pop 'n Cuts inside with some Deco labels. 

 

I used some My Paper Pumpkin stamps for backgrounds on the squares and also behind the sentiment.

 

In addition to Yippee Skippee, I used Bring on the Cake and Gorgeous Grunge.

The new Thinlits are so much fun to play with and have so many possibilities!  For these cards I went with a boyish birthday there and used the Gorgeous Grunge, Bring on the Cake, Great Sport and Blue Ribbon stamp sets.

 

On each one, I added a scallop circle to both sides of the portion that flips and either a baseball or a Happy Birthday.

 

On one card, I added some brights Candy Dots as well.

I was playing with some shapes and textures on this birthday card using the Bring on the Cake stamp set. 

 

 

There is some Epic Day This and That designer series paper and Washi tape along with some Labels collection framelits and the Honeycomb folder.

This month my lovely Stamp Club ladies will get these projects with their orders along with some other goodies because we won't be meeting.  Usually I am busy cutting potato seed this time of year, but we are not quite to that point with the late spring, instead we are busy shipping out potato seed instead.

 

 

I used the Bring on the Cake and Designer Typeset stamp set for the birthday card and added some Patio Party dsp and Summer Starfruit stitched satin ribbon.

 

On this card, I left a sentiment off so that they can use it for whatever they wish.  The shell has the faux mother of pearl technique on it although it is difficult to see on the picture.  I love using the By the Tide stamp set for masculine cards so I would probably use it for a masculine birthday.

 

The layout is a pretty simple one again using the Fan Fair designer series paper, Pink Pirouette, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla and Early Espresso.

By the Tide Birthday

 

I like the By the Tide set for masculine cards and this one happened to go to a brother in law.  The base of the card is Basic Gray and I added some First edition dsp as well.

 

 

The randomly stamped images on the card base were stamped with Crumb Cake ink.

I love this image from the By the Tide stamp set, but don't find a lot of ways to use it.  I thought it would work ok on this card that I made using Mary Jo's sketch for the week. 

 

 

The designer series paper is from Parker's Patterns and I used Soft Suede, Midnight Muse, Early Espresso and Very Vanilla card stock along with it.

 

The ink is Cherry Cobbler and in addition to the By The Tide stamp set, I used the Bring on the Cake set for the sentiment.

 

The bow is made with retired Cherry Cobbler quilted ribbon and the strip of ribbon behind the image is the back side of the scallop dots ribbon in Cherry Cobbler.

 

Lovely as a Tree

I have been looking at this stamp set since it came out a few years ago and finally broke down bought it.  The first card is one I used at my Stamp a Stack last weekend which I already shared with you and the second is a do over that I made with some of the leftover pieces.

I used Bashful Blue and Wild Wasabi ink and sponged over the trees.

Doily Birthday

Well, we are in the middle of a snow storm today, something we haven't really seen all winter!  It will be a quiet day at home I guess.

This is one of the cards we did at our Stamp a Stack yesterday, I know I have seen this idea in lots of places so don't know who to give proper credit to, but can say I didn't create the original.

I tried a color on color card today and it actually didn't turn out how I planned in the beginning, but I think I like it anyway. 

I used a Rich Razzleberry Base and the second layer is the same color, but I ran it through the Big Shot and the Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder. 

The tag is from the Two Tags die and the little banner is from the Petal cone die.  So Saffron and Certainly Celery are the other two colors I went with and the tag is Confetti White.

Sense of Time

I broke out a new set for Mary Jo's sketch this week, I had this one on my wish list for a long time and finally got it. 

I used Crumb Cake and Early Espresso card stock along with Paisley Prints designer series paper.  The clock image was crumpled up and sponged with Early Espresso ink as was the little strip on the other side.  I also used the distress tool on all the edges and sponged.

Inspirational birthday

At a retreat that I attend semi annually, we have an inspiration box that contains odds and ends of things that people have had laying around.  We can go through the box and pick something out to create a project with and this was the card I came up with last time.  The H and B came out of the inspiration box and I sanded them down and then sponged them with Soft Suede ink.

 

The rest was either from my scrap pile or was something that was close to me in my workspace at the time.  I always love using the fabric and have fallen in love with the music notes wheel as well so I put them together.  The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake and I added a vintage flower adornment, a vintage trinket, basic pearls and a piece of vanilla seam binding.

Quick and Easy Birthday

This is a super fast and fun birthday card using the Celebrations designer series paper and the Bring on the Cake stamp set. 

I colored in the sentiment image with Bashful Blue and added a 1/4" real red grosgrain ribbon to the side.  The sentiment is popped up with dimensionals.  Colors are Real Red, Pacific Piont and Whisper White.

Simple and masculine

Our Late Night Stampers challenge this week is for masculine cards.  This one is very simple and easy to put together using the Newsprint Designer Series paper and Bring on the Cake stamp set.

I sponged the edges slightly of the card stocks with Marina Mist and added a piece punched out with the dotted scallop ribbon border punch and some silver brads.
