Showers of Happiness

As I mentioned earlier this week, I was working on some various bridal shower cards recently and this is another sample, this time I chose to use the Detailed Floral thinlit dies as my focus.  I cut the pieces from the card base and added a piece of So Saffron card stock behind it with rolled up glue dots so that it was popped up just a little bit.

I again used the Moon Baby stamp set for the sentiment (quite a handy set to have around!) and added some Sending Love embellishments and some basic pearls as accents.

Supplies:
Moon Baby
Basic Black ink
Very Vanilla, So Saffron card stock
Sending Love embellishments
basic pearls

Shimmery Floral Affection

Today's card is another May 2016 Paper Pumpkin alternative idea.  I have used another of the Happy stickers from that kit.  My Sweet Sugarplum card stock layer has been embossed with of the little embossing folders in the Floral Affection collection and then I used the Wink of Stella glitter brush  to highlight some of the embossing.  That is pretty difficult to see in the pictures, but is much clearer in person.

There is some background stamping using the same color as the card stock and I added a strip of Pop of Pink washi tape.

Somehow the lighting on these three pictures changed a little so it looks like different pieces of card stock, but it is actually the same one - sorry about that!

Supplies:
Number of Years
Basic Black, Sweet Sugarplum ink
Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White card stock
Wink of Stella glitter brush
basic pearls
Pop of pink washi tape
Floral affection folder

Warm Wishes

This is the second card I used in a swap recently and it uses the Winter Wonderland designer vellum.  I first embossed my Soft Suede card stock with the Brick Wall folder and then cut a circle out of it with the Circles framelits.

Then, I added the vellum behind it and my stamping and embellishments.

As I was putting these cards together, the photographer for the local newspaper was walking around taking pictures of the retreat and had me tie some ribbon in a posed shot (I think it looks a little silly, LOL!)...

Supplies:
Warm Wishes
Crumb Cake, Basic Black ink
Soft Suede, Very Vanilla card stock
Winter Wonderland designer vellum
Brick wall folder
Circles framelits
1" Delightful Dijon dotted lace trim
gold baker's twine
Venetian crochet trim

Wooden Trees

I was playing around with some wooden trees this past week decorating them with paint, stamps, paper, ribbon, embellishments, etc.  They are all a little different and decorated on both sides.

I put them together in sets of threes for my craft show on Thursday and this one was the most popular, but they went over well.

I used mod podge to adhere the designer and specialty papers to the wood and then added the embellishments with several different adhesives.

The ones that were stamped have Metallic ink, craft ink, Memento ink and regular ink on them, and they all seemed to work well.

The fine tip glue pen worked great for the little embellishments that didn't have adhesive on them already.

This is the back side of the set of trees above...

and a few different ones...

If I made these again, I might not paint them all, especially if I am stamping colors on them because the red ink doesn't really stand out too much on the flowers.

The lace trim around the outside of some of the trees was attached with small nails...

And a few more samples...

close up...

it is hard to see too easily, but there are basic pearls on some of the snowflakes below...

Reason for the Season, Holly Jolly Greetings

Clockworks Gift Set

Recently, I had a request for some cards that had a clock or time theme to them.  The cards below are what I came up with using the retiring Clockworks stamp set.

I used some Gold Metallic ink on Pear Pizzazz card stock and randomly stamped some of the images.  Then, I added some Gold Foil sheets that were embossed with the Decorative dots folder over the top.

Finally the pocket watch and a sentiment (from Wetlands), some washi tape and a basic pearl to complete the cards.

Supplies:
Wetlands, Clockworks
Pear Pizzazz, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake card stock
Gold Metallic, Early Espresso and Pear Pizzazz ink
Gold Foil sheets
Decorative dots folder
Watercolor Wonder washi tape

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mom's out there today!  My card today is a little different than my usual, the Wisteria Wonder piece below the Whisper White part of the card that opens is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  The folded piece is attached to it and measures 8 1/4" x 5 1/4"; scored at 4 1/8".

The sentiment comes from the My Paper Pumpkin April kit and my flower image is from the Gifts of Kindness stamp set.  The flower is stamped onto the Whisper White first and then I stamped on the Pool Party and lined them up before I added the Pool Party to the Whisper White piece.  Lots of lots of tiny basic pearls went onto the middle flower and then I added a little piece of Crumb Cake taffeta ribbon.

Non Winning Artisan Project #1

Well, once again I wasn't picked as a finalist for the Artisan Award Contest so I am going to share my 10 entries with you in the next couple weeks.  I have to admit, by the time I packed them all up to ship to Utah, there were some projects I didn't like too much anymore, but there were some I still loved and this was one of them.

This is not a typical card that I create because is it really tedious and I tend to stay away from those.

Everything was sponged and then shimmered with some smooch spritz and most layers also had some distressed edged.

Supplies:
Teeny Tiny Wishes
Soft Suede classic ink
Very Vanilla card stock
Naturals composition specialty paper
Modern Label punch
Designer Frames folder
Scallop edge punch
Little Leaves Sizzlit
Perfect Polka Dots folder
Flower trim
Basic Pearls

Victoria crochet trim

Grace and Kindness

I have another card made from leftover scraps, this time the scraps are some 1" strips that were left after I cut designer series paper for convention swaps.

I used the Gifts of Kindness stamp set and the Etcetera designer series paper (love the color combinations in this set!!).  My ink colors were Baked Brown Sugar and Old Olive and card stocks colors were Pool Party, Very Vanilla, Baked Brown Sugar and Calypso Coral.  Finally, I added a few basic pearls to complete the card.

Thinking of You

The challenge going on right now at Late Night Stampers is Summer Showcase - show us how you are using new products or colors (although you don't need to have new products to play along - just use some fun summer colors or images in your projects).

I chose to use Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe on this card and added some of the fun new ruffle stretch trim ribbon.

I punched a few bitty butterflies out of my Whisper White card stock layer and added some Quatrefancy specialty paper behind it.  I just love the window sheets in that set!

Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe classic ink
Calypso Coral, Pistachio Pudding, Basic Gray and Whisper White card stock
