Poinsettia Christmas

This card was recently in a couple of my stamp a stacks and features the Reason for the Season stamp set and again the This Christmas specialty paper.

I also used the Stitched shapes framelits and the note tag punch popping both of those layers up with Stampin' dimensionals.

This is one of my favorite Christmas stamp sets and I love to use Cherry Cobbler for the flower petals.

Supplies:
Reason for the Season
Soft Suede, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler ink
Whisper White card stock
This Christmas specialty paper
note tag punch
Stitched shapes framelits
enamel dots

The Season

I used this card for a card exchange recently showcasing the Stitched shapes framelits and the Reason for the Season stamp set.

I chose to add some pine boughs behind the designer series paper and sentiment instead of using the poinsettia image that is also in the stamp set and added a few little red "berries" randomly as well.  I believe the stamp I used the for "berries" is actually for the middle of the poinsettia flower.

Lastly, I added a Christmas trinket embellishment and some Real Red baker's twine.

Supplies:
Reason for the Season
Soft Suede, Garden Green, Real Red ink
Whisper White, Real Red card stock

Christmas trinkets embellishments
 baker's twine

The Reason

Today I have another Christmas card to throw into the mix, I always like to do a few of these before I am really into making Christmas projects so I don't have quite so many to make when the time comes.

For this one, I chose the Reason for the Season stamp set - one of my favorites.  I have used the Warmth and Cheer designer series paper and Cable Knit folder to add texture to the card.

Supplies:
Reason for the Season
Dapper Denim ink
Dapper Denim, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler card stock
linen thread
In Color doilies
2" circle punch
Warmth and Cheer designer series paper
Cable knit folder

Christmas Tags

Today I have some Christmas tags to share with you, but unfortunately I didn't get a chance to get a better picture before they were packaged up.

I used a variety of different Big Shot products to create them - the now retired Top Note die, Deco Labels framelits, Tags and Labels framelits, Brick Wall folder,...

Tags are a great way to use leftover pieces of designer series paper and card stock too, I like to dip into the scrap bin when I work on them because I can usually make a pretty big dent in the scraps!  Some of the designer series paper I used on the scraps above is retired as well but I chose the current Jolly Christmas and Reason for the Season stamp sets for my sentiments and images.

I hope you find some time to make your own tags for special occasions and Christmas as well!

Reason For the Season

This card is a little similar to the one we made at Stamp Club this month with the Reason for the Season stamp set, but I did mix it up just a little bit. I really like the triple stamped poinsettia so I used it again as a background and added a strip of Home for Christmas designer series paper behind the sentiment.

Despite the images that need to be stamped more than once to add the colors, these come together pretty quickly and would work well for mass producing.

Wooden Trees

I was playing around with some wooden trees this past week decorating them with paint, stamps, paper, ribbon, embellishments, etc.  They are all a little different and decorated on both sides.

I put them together in sets of threes for my craft show on Thursday and this one was the most popular, but they went over well.

I used mod podge to adhere the designer and specialty papers to the wood and then added the embellishments with several different adhesives.

The ones that were stamped have Metallic ink, craft ink, Memento ink and regular ink on them, and they all seemed to work well.

The fine tip glue pen worked great for the little embellishments that didn't have adhesive on them already.

This is the back side of the set of trees above...

and a few different ones...

If I made these again, I might not paint them all, especially if I am stamping colors on them because the red ink doesn't really stand out too much on the flowers.

The lace trim around the outside of some of the trees was attached with small nails...

And a few more samples...

it is hard to see too easily, but there are basic pearls on some of the snowflakes below...

November Stamp Club Projects

This month I went with a fall themed layout and Christmas themed cards and tags.  The layout uses the Into the Woods designer series paper and I also used some images from the For All Things stamp set.

For the cards, we used the Reason for the Season and Warm Wishes stamp sets.

The Sleigh Ride edgelits seemed to pair well with the Home for Christmas designer series paper so we added the images from Warm Wishes to that card.

And we once again used the Home for Christmas designer series paper for the second card...

The tags used several punches - ornate tag topper, scalloped tag topper, 1 3/4" circle, 2" circle, decorative label and tree...and we used the A Little Something and Holly Jolly Greetings stamp sets to complete them.

Remember, if these projects look like fun you are welcome to join our group any time!  If you are not local, one of the Virtual Clubs might work for you as well.
