Warm Wishes

This is the second card I used in a swap recently and it uses the Winter Wonderland designer vellum.  I first embossed my Soft Suede card stock with the Brick Wall folder and then cut a circle out of it with the Circles framelits.

Then, I added the vellum behind it and my stamping and embellishments.

As I was putting these cards together, the photographer for the local newspaper was walking around taking pictures of the retreat and had me tie some ribbon in a posed shot (I think it looks a little silly, LOL!)...

Supplies:
Warm Wishes
Crumb Cake, Basic Black ink
Soft Suede, Very Vanilla card stock
Winter Wonderland designer vellum
Brick wall folder
Circles framelits
1" Delightful Dijon dotted lace trim
gold baker's twine
Venetian crochet trim
basic pearls

Birthday Pillow Box

In the Holiday catalog there are several new thinlits that are all lots of fun, but I chose to share the Square Pillow Box thinlit with you today.  I picked the Pretty Petals designer series paper to make the pillow box and added some Calypso Coral and Very Vanilla card stock layers for decorating.

The thinlit cuts the pieces out (you have to cut two of them to make the box) and also scores for you.

To decorate I used the Something to Say stamp set and some Calypso Coral  thick baker's twine, Venetian crochet trim ribbon and metal rimmed pearls.

Supplies:
Something to Say
Old Olive ink
Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla card stock
Pretty Petals dsp
metal rimmed pearls
Venetian crochet trim ribbon
thick bakers twine
Tear and Tape adhesive
linen thread

Stronger Thank You Think

Today's card that I am sharing uses the You've Got This and Heartfelt Sympathy stamp sets.  I chose to add some Timeless Elegance designer series paper and Venetian crochet trim ribbon to the card base as well and I like how that part turned out a lot.

The sentiment and mat are cut out with the Ovals collection framelits.  While I really like the way this card turned out, I think next time I would use a different color for the background stamp, this one seems a little too dark (Pear Pizzazz).  Maybe Crumb Cake or Soft Sky...

Finally a little button with some linen thread through it as an accent (and because I am covering up a little smudge!).

Supplies:
Heartfelt Sympathy, You've Got This
Pear Pizzazz, Memento Black ink
Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Soft Sky card stock

Ovals collection framelits
linen thread
Venetian crochet trim

Best Day Ever

I am back to the Birthday Blossoms stamp set with a 12 x 12 scrapbook page today.  The title of "best day ever" actually is in our scrapbooks several times, but it fits for a lot of different circumstances!

I stamped with Tip Top Taupe ink on the Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla and Early Espresso card stock pieces.  Next I added some Gold Fancy Foil Vellum and Venetian crochet trim ribbon.

Finally, I added my journaling on a piece of Tip Top Taupe that was punched with the Ornate tag topper punch and some metal rimmed pearls.

Supplies:
Stamp A Bag, Birthday Blossoms stamp sets
Tip Top Taupe ink
Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Tip Top Taupe, Early Espresso card stock
Fancy Foil Vellum

Pretty Petals Birthday

The stamp set I used on the card I have to share with you today is one that my daughter picked out from the catalog.  Some days I think her wish list is longer than mine!

I used some Pretty Petals designer series paper along with the Birthday Blossoms stamp set and Pansy Punch.  The designs on the Pretty Petals designer series paper are so pretty, I really need to find more uses for it!

I added some venetian crochet trim and a metal rimmed pearls to complete the card.

Supplies:
Birthday Blossoms
Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Old Olive ink
Very Vanilla, Old Olive card stock

Give Thanks

A very long time ago, I picked up a couple of small wreath shaped pieces someplace or other that I intended to decorate and while I was looking for some ideas in my stash of alterable items, I pulled one of them out.

The wreath is about 6" in diameter so it is pretty small.  I wrapped some 5/8" striped cotton ribbon around it very tightly and attached it at the beginning and the end with Tear and Tape adhesive.

Next, I picked up some leftover Paper Pumpkin items from the June kit and some sequins leftover from my Watercolor Wishes card kit (which I haven't shared with you yet!!).  The little wooden banner pieces are attached to the Venetian crochet trim ribbon with tear and tape adhesive and I put some on the backside to help stabilize it as well.  On the back side I left the paper on it so that only one side is sticky (hope that makes sense!).

I chose the sentiment from the Banner Blessings set and matted it onto a piece of Farmer's Market designer series paper.

Finally I added a way to hang it on the wall using some Venetian crochet trim ribbon and linen thread.

Supplies:
Banner Blessings
Blackberry Bliss ink
Very Vanilla card stock
Farmer's Market dsp
Venetian crochet trim ribbon
linen thread
Watercolor Wishes card kit
June Paper Pumpkin kit
5/8" Mossy Meadow Striped cotton ribbon

Goodies!

When I came across this adorable little wooden crate at Target I knew what I wanted to do with it.  It is a great size for gifts of jams or jelly.

I chose the Homemade for you stamp set and the Farmer's Market designer series paper to use for decorating the box.

Then I added some burlap ribbon, linen thread and Venetian crochet trim ribbon as accents.

Each side is decorated differently...

and then I also decorated the jar lids...

Two jars fit very well and adding some filler for cushioning is a good idea although I didn't have any on hand for the pictures.

Supplies:
Homemade for You
Old Olive, Blackberry Bliss ink
Soft Suede, Very Vanilla, Old Olive card stock
Farmer's Market dsp
circle punches
linen thread
Venetian crochet trim ribbon
burlap ribbon
designer buttons

Get Well Soon

The stamp I chose for today's card is a single stamp and I chose to stamp the image on my Pool Party card stock and then again on a scrap of Very Vanilla.  I colored the image on the scrap with markers and then cut it out with my paper snips and added it to the card with dimensionals to pop it up a little.

There is some 1" dotted lace trim and Venetian crochet trim ribbon behind the bowl...

You can see I added a piece of Very Vanilla and some brads on one of the corners...this was to cover up a mistake! :)

Just a reminder, when you use your Stampin' Trimmer to score your card stock, make sure the cutting blade is out of the way...

I accidentally cut part of the piece I was scoring and decided to just go with it.  I added the Very Vanilla and brads to hold it together and then added some more Pool Party card stock on the inside to cover up the Very Vanilla.

Supplies:
Get Well Soup
Memento black ink
Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry markers
Very Vanilla, Tip Top Taupe, Pool Party card stock
Sweet Li'l Things dsp
brads
1" Watermelon Wonder dotted lace trim
Venetian crochet trim ribbon

Just for You

I really love using the crochet trim ribbons on projects and it is really easy to work with which is nice as well.  I chose to add some swirls from the Snuggles and Smooches stamp set to the Pool Party layer of this card and then added some of the Venetian crochet trim ribbon and linen thread over the top of it.

The butterfly is three layers on top of one another stamped using the Watercolor Wings stamp set and the colors Pool Party, Lost Lagoon and Tip Top Taupe.  I added a few basic pearls for some dimension as well.

Supplies:
Watercolor Wings, Snuggles and Smooches
Tip Top Taupe, Pool Party, Lost Lagoon ink
Very Vanilla, Pool Party card stock

Timeless Elegance

One of the first things I look for in the new catalogs is stamp sets for sympathy cards since I make quite a few of them.  The Heartfelt Sympathy set is a new one and I have used it on this card with some Garden Green ink.

The designer paper in the background is called Timeless Elegance and is all in Very Vanilla and shades of Black/Gray.  I added some metal rimmed pearls which have a sticky backing on them so they are easy to attach and I cut up some Venetian crochet trim to go behind the sentiment.

I added another piece of dsp and more sentiment to the inside of the card.

Supplies:
Heartfelt Sympathy
Garden Green ink
Very Vanilla, Basic Black card stock
Timeless Elegance dsp
metal rimmed pearls
Venetian crochet trim ribbon

Burlap and Lace

I am always on the lookout for fun things to alter when I get a chance to shop.  I came across this paper mache box awhile ago and had not done anything with it yet.

Right now it is empty, but I thought it would be a great box for a gift of any kind, a card set or even just a display piece.

I added some Flashback designer series paper (I just LOVE the versatility of this paper pack!).  Then, I added some Venetian crochet trim around the top and bottom attaching it with a random glue dot here and there.

Next came the silver basics buttons, again attached with glue dots...

And finally the burlap and Venetian crochet trim on the top (this is attached with sticky strip.

Supplies:

Burlap ribbon
