75

Today we celebrate my dad's 75th birthday.  ( I have no doubt he has never seen my blog so I am not too worried about him seeing pictures of his card before he receives it!)  I decided to make his card in colors of his favorite things - John Deere tractors and of course NDSU Bison.  In Stampin' Up! terms, those colors are Daffodil Delight and Garden Green :)

The saying that is in the Number of Years stamp set is perfect for his card too so I used that on the front.  On the inside I added the happy birthday with some of the watercolor images as well but I didn't take a picture of it...

The enamel dots are leftovers from a couple different Paper Pumpkin kits.

Supplies:
Number of Years
Basic Black ink
Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Basic Black and Whisper White card stock
Arrows folder
circles framelits
enamel dots

Hello Baby!

During the card making session I mentioned yesterday, I also made sure to get some baby cards made and below are a couple put together with some scraps of designer series paper and the Little Sunshine stamp set.

The "hello, baby" pieces are die cut with the Word Bubbles framelits and I added a little washi tape to each of the congratulations sentiments.

I always love to add baker's twine or something similar to a card so I threw a little of that on each one as well.

Supplies:
Little Sunshine
Soft Suede ink
Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Early Espresso card stock
Word Bubbles framelits
baker's twine
washi tape
Decorative dots folder
Arrows folder

February Stamp Club projects

This month at stamp club the cards focus on blendabilities.  I have chosen the Love is Kindness and A Happy Thing (SAB 2015) stamp sets for the images and used the Daffodil Delight and Cherry Cobbler blendabilities.

This card pairs the Arrows impressions folder with some organza ribbon for the background.

There is a strip of Painted Blooms designer series paper behind the image on this one.

And on the layout, I have chosen to use the Best Year Ever (SAB 2015) designer series paper as the focus pairing it with card stock colors that coordinate.

I also stamped an image from Best Year Ever (SAB 2015) on the right side page in the corner.

Gift Card Birthday

Here are a couple more cards made with the BYOP stamp set that I used on yesterday's card.  I added a Gift card envelope die cut to the front of both of them to go with the theme.

The designer series paper is called Birthday Bash and has some fun colors and patterns to it.  I added the Arrows folder for texture on the background piece of Crushed Curry card stock.

Each card layout is similar, but just the sentiment is changed.  You could easily put the gift card envelope on the inside as well.

Supplies:
BYOP
Tangerine Tango, Bermuda Bay ink
Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay card stock
Birthday Bash dsp
Arrows folder
Gift card envelope and trims thinlit

Shades of Purple

A Sale-a-bration 2015 sneak peek for you today!  This stamp set is a is photopolymer and has three steps to stamp the lotus flower.  I used Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum and Wisteria Wonder for my flower image (love purple!) and Lost Lagoon for my sentiment.

A quick punch of the Angled Tag Topper, some Lost Lagoon satin ribbon and embossed Pear Pizzazz card stock and there you go!

Blendability Background

I am still working on trying to master the Blendabilities markers, but while I do that I also play with them a little without blending them together.  This is another sentiment free card and I stamped the Serene Silhouettes image on Very Vanilla card stock with Memento black ink and then used the lightest Coastal Cabana Blendabilities marker on the background.

I tried to make it a little uneven so it looks sort of like a sky and I think it worked out pretty well.

Supplies:
Serene Silhouettes
Memento Black ink
Very Vanilla, Night of Navy, Kraft, Pear Pizzazz card stock
linen thread
Deco labels framelits
Arrows folder
Coastal Cabana Blendabilities markers

Lots of Thanks

This card uses two of the new embossing folders in the 2014-2015 catalog - Arrows and Fun Frames.  Of course, the fun frames folder doesn't emboss and cut so if you want to have the piece cut out like the card below, you will need your paper snips (I know, I know, no one likes to cut out pieces!).

The sentiment comes from the cute little set called Hip Notes and I punched it out with the new 2" circle punch.

A little bit of 5/8" natural chevron ribbon and a cute little clip from the June Paper pumpkin kit and that is it!

Supplies:
Hip Notes
Pear Pizzazz, Baked Brown Sugar, Whisper White card stock
Pear Pizzazz ink
2" circle punch
Fun Frames folder
Arrows Folder
5/8" natural chevron ribbon
Paper Pumpkin accessories
