Half Full Birthday

This card just joined my Stamp A Stack rotation and it showcases the Half Full stamp set and the Stampin' Blends.  I used Old Olive and Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to color in the wine bottle and then cut it out with the paper snips.  This is usually the step that most people don't enjoy - myself included - but it is just one piece to cut and I wanted the bottle to pop on the card.

The background is embossed with the Oh My Stars folder and I chose to use some retired designer series paper as an accent piece to break up the Tempting Turquoise embossed layer.

This card uses scraps again and if you follow my blog you will notice that I used another piece of this same pattern of designer series paper recently on another card.  Sometimes I use all the scraps from a piece of designer paper at one sitting and that happened this time...

My background is Tip Top Taupe card stock that was embossed with the Festive folder and then I added my scrap of designer series paper to the top of it. 

A few strips of lace trim tied up with some linen thread, my sentiment and die cut complete the card.

Today's card uses colors I don't pick out of my stash all that often lately.  I know that once I work on Christmas projects the Cherry Cobbler will be a common color for me to grab, but right now it is kind of in the back of the box.  Delightful Dijon is another one I don't grab for often, but I like the two colors together and thought I would create a card with them.

The Perfectly Wrapped stamp set was used on the card base as well as the circle and sentiment.  I also added a die cut from the Sunshine Wishes collection and some burlap ribbon (I just love that stuff even though it leaves burlap lint everywhere!).

I just can't seem to party with my Top Note die even though it isn't a current catalog item anymore.  There are actually quite a few items in my stash that I use a lot that are not longer current because I just can't see not using them anymore :) 

I cut out a piece of Very Vanilla card stock with this die and then used the Happy Heart folder to emboss it.  Next, I took a sponge and the Crumb Cake ink pad and added some color.

A few more die cuts using the Sunshine Wishes collection, some baker's twine, a doily and sentiment and the card is completed.

July Paper Pumpkin Layout

I decided to use one of the little boxes from the July Paper Pumpkin kit on a scrapbook layout.  All I did was cut off the tabs and then added it to my page.  It is placed over a piece of Fabulous foil designer acetate and next to a piece of Serene Scenery designer series paper.

I added a couple different die cuts from the Sunshine Wishes thinlits collection, a In Color doily, washi tape and some rhinestone flowers (retired) to complete it.

For the journaling, I just wrote on the lines of the designer series paper.

One More Year

Back to that Serene Scenery designer series paper I love so much! 

This pattern is layered on some corrugated paper and added to a Watermelon Wonder card stock base. I die cut the heart using the Sunshine Wishes framelit set and then used the coordinating Sunshine Sayings stamp set for the sentiment words.  Those are cut out using a scissors.

Since I had some sequin trim left over (I believe it is from a Paper Pumpkin kit) I added that to the card as well using glue dots.

I had such high hopes in my head when I started creating this card but once it was complete, I really didn't like the way it turned out.  It is the Peekaboo Peach layer that doesn't work for me and I think I might have to go back and try this idea another way, but I thought I would share it anyway.

My background is created by stamping some images from the Playful Backgrounds stamp set, I also used that on the Peekaboo Peach layer.  Then, I added some metallic doilies backwards so you don't see the shiny side. 

The die cut is from the Sunshine Wishes framelit set that I also used yesterday and I finished the card with some Brights Candy dots.

Flower in the Window

One day last week I was trying to decide how to use the Sunshine Wishes framelits on a card and I looked down and saw the Fabulous Foil Designer acetate package that I had not opened yet.  So, I picked out a pattern and die cut my scalloped square on a piece of Smoky Slate card stock using the Layering Squares framelits.

Then, I used the flower die cut from the Sunshine Wishes set and some Black card stock and decided I wanted to add some color in the petals.  I glued some Wisteria Wonder card stock onto the back of the flower with my fine tip glue pen and after it dried I cut around the petals.  I noticed that I had a little glue residue on the front side of the Basic Black card stock so decided to mask it with the Wink of Stella glitter brush all over the die cut.

I placed some Whisper White card stock that had been embossed with the Brick wall folder behind the acetate and flower and completed my card with some washi tape.
