Miss You

I was messing around one day trying to figure out if it would work to stamp on already embossed card stock and still have good images because I guess I always stamp first and emboss second.  Well, it worked great I am happy to say!

I had an embossed piece of Whisper White that had been run through the Big Shot with the Brick Wall folder and I used the Timeless Textures stamp set to add images to it in various colors.

Must sentiment comes from the Oh Happy Day card kit.

I really like the color combination on this card, it seems soothing so I thought it would be a good sympathy card combination. 

The background Dapper Denim card stock is embossed with the Lovely lace folder and I used the Butterfly basics and Better together stamp sets for the image and sentiment.

The card itself isn't complex and can be put together fairly quickly.

Despite the fact that the Jar of Love stamp set is one that I purchased right away from the new catalog, I still struggle to design projects with it that I think look ok!  Maybe I am overthinking them...

For this card, I die cut the jar out of a piece of Whisper White card stock and then added some glassine paper behind it and stamped the jar.  Since the stamps are photopolymer that part was easier than you think.

Then I added some flowers and stems and a piece of burlap ribbon.

Look Who's Turning

Last week I needed a card for a 2 year old.  Truthfully before I started I kind of knew I shouldn't put too much time into the card because it would probably be torn apart while it was being opened - and I was correct...but I did make it kind of fun anyway...

I chose the Festive folder for the background texture and added a layer of lots of balloon images.  For the 2, I stamped it and then used the Large numbers framelits to cut it out.

There is a bit of pop of pink washi tape behind the balloon layer as well.

August Stamp Club projects

This month I went about things a little differently with my stamp club projects.  I used the same designer series paper package for all the projects so all the projects coordinated.

Bliss and Blooms designer series paper is so much fun to work with and I love the fact that there are so many different colors in the same pack!

For the layout I chose to use the designer series paper with pinks and purples in it...

and for the cards I chose the greens and blues...

I just love the delicate doilies!  You can probably tell by how often I use them on my projects :)

No Place Like Home

I have found it interesting to show my sons the pages that I create to go into their scrapbooks, the reactions or lack thereof are not always what I would expect.  When they saw this layout that will go into Wyatt's book, Hunter immediately asked where his was!  Now I need to come up with something different but just as good for him :)

To make the home plate, I just cut angles from an 8 1/2" x 11" piece of Whisper White with my paper cutter.  Then I distressed the plate and the area around it using images in the Timeless Textures stamp set. 

The stamped letters are from the Layering Letters and Welcome Words stamp sets and the "PR" is cut out using the Large Letters Framelits. 

The baseball was punched with the 2 1/2" circle punch and I just free handed the stitched with a Real Red marker.

I have been trying to find some good projects for my nieces to do when they come over for their annual 4H project day with me.  This is one of the things I thought they might have fun with. 

When Stampin' Up! had fabric, I played around with these hoops a little and had a few of them leftover.  I opened the hoop and carefully placed the designer series paper in between the two pieces, cutting around the circle leaving about 1/2" to 3/4".  Then, I tightened the hoops together as much as I was able to and trimmed any remaining edges on the back.

The decorating is pretty self explanatory, but I did take some White Perfect accents and add some color to them with markers.  Fearing that they might not dry well like that, I added some Wink of Stella glitter brush over the top so they also have a little sparkle!
