More Alternative Cards for August

Here are a few more card ideas using the August Paper Pumpkin kit - next time I will share a scrapbooking layout as well.

I have added Whisper White card bases and strips of Merry Merlot or Mossy Meadow card stock on each of these in addition to the kit items.  The sentiments also come from different stamp sets. 

The sentiment on the card above is from the Love What You Do stamp set and it is stamped on a die cut from the Stitched Nested Labels collection...

The sentiment on the final two cards is from the Painted Harvest stamp set.

August Paper Pumpkin Alternative Ideas

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit had some really cute little gift bags to decorate and there was also an add on card kit you could purchase separately.  The first photo is of the gift bags (there were 4 more in the kit) and a couple cards using the add on kit.

The next few ideas use the pieces in the kit along with some extra card stock for card bases and a couple background pieces. 

For these two cards, I cut the note card into two pieces and used the one piece on the front as a background and the other piece on the inside since it was lighter than the card base.

August Paper Pumpkin

I am hopefully back for awhile now that wheat harvest is complete!  This is the video showing you the August Paper Pumpkin kit and its fun projects.  Later in the week, I will share the alternative ideas I came up with for you!

August Stamp Club Projects

It is time for the monthly stamp club projects again! 

This time I used the same stamp set on both cards - the hostess set called Soft Spring which is a two step stamping set.  The card on the left uses the rectangle stitched framelits as a mask for the sponged background (and I will show you a way to step it up just a little tomorrow) and it is a one layer card with lots of color.

The card on the right uses some Magnolia Lane designer series paper and the Stitched Nested framelits...

Finally, the layout pairs the Come Sail Away designer series paper with the Come Sail Away Memories and More card pack.

Stepped Up Soft Spring

As promised yesterday, here is a stepped up version of the card we made for Stamp Club this month using the Rectangle stitched framelits.  Instead of just sponging the inside of the rectangle I had die cut, I also sponged the outside edge and border on the card base.  The card is still a one layer card, but has a little more dimension to it.

Love & Happiness

I have added this card to my Stamp A Stack rotation, pairing the Pressed Petals specialty designer series paper with the Dandelion Wishes stamp set.

The background is stamped with Petal Pink ink and the sentiment and large circle die cut are Merry Merlot ink and card stock.  

I really love the patterns and colors in the Pressed Petals specialty paper - beautiful flowers, burlap, script, musical paper, wood texture, etc...

Burlap Sympathy

In the next few weeks, my posting might be a little sporadic with wheat harvest getting closer and the kids starting school in a few weeks.  Hopefully I can find time to keep up with the fun stuff too!!

For this card, I used the Burlap background stamp with some Sahara Sand ink and then added some images from the Petal Palette stamp set using Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow ink.  The sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and I have lightly stamped some of the leaves on that layer as well.
