Junior High

Normally I don't get a lot of scrap book pages done unless I am at a retreat weekend but I have been trying to do a few more throughout the year since I only go to two retreats each year and obviously don't keep up that way.

The page above is done using this year's school picture (wow, huh?  too bad I am not that current with other events!).  I chose a Smoky Slate background and stamped some images from Number of Years all over the page.

My number is cut with the Large Numbers framelits and I chose some Moments Like These Project Life collection elements for accents.  The designer series paper in the back is from the Fruit Stand collection.

I will have the pages for my other two kids in the next couple days as well.

October 2016 Paper Pumpkin Alternative

My alternative project for you using this month's Paper Pumpkin kit is a scrapbook page.  The only items added that are not in the kit are the 12 x 12 piece of Cajun Craze card stock, the pieces of Early Espresso and Delightful Dijon card stock, linen thread, burlap ribbon and images from Perfectly Wrapped.

The pieces to mat photos are made from cutting the card base in half...

I cut down the textured and die cut piece of card stock and used it at the top and then added the die cut pieces through the middle...

The little circles are from the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set...

I stamped the image from the kit behind the die cut leaves and then added the sequins and window sheet over the top.  To cover up the dimensional strip of adhesive I added the strips of Early Espresso and Delightful Dijon cardstock.

The linen thread at the corners is from a previous kit.

Leaves and Sequins

This month's Paper Pumpkin kit was a card kit with some fun textured and die cut paper and sequins to play with.  Below are some of the cards I put together - none of them are exactly as the instructions show.  Tomorrow I will share an alternative project using the kit as well.

The wooden flower on the top card is from a previous kit...

On the card below, I left out the sequins and just used the die cut pieces instead of the large textured piece of card stock.

And on the last card, I sponged the textured piece to pop the texture a little.

The Reason

Today I have another Christmas card to throw into the mix, I always like to do a few of these before I am really into making Christmas projects so I don't have quite so many to make when the time comes.

For this one, I chose the Reason for the Season stamp set - one of my favorites.  I have used the Warmth and Cheer designer series paper and Cable Knit folder to add texture to the card.

Supplies:
Reason for the Season
Dapper Denim ink
Dapper Denim, Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler card stock
linen thread
In Color doilies
2" circle punch

Rose Sympathy

I was playing around with my Rose Garden thinlits using different colors of card stock and decided to make a sympathy card using the Cherry Cobbler rose and Garden Green leaf.  Behind the flower I have some Fancy Frost specialty designer series paper that is textured with some branches and leaves.

To make the white pop, I added some Dapper Denim card stock behind the specialty paper and used the same ink color for my sentiment.

Supplies:
Rose Wonder
Dapper Denim ink

Your Love

The sentiment I used on this card I think could be used for both wedding and anniversary cards.  The stamp set is called Floral Phrases and I added some texture on my layers with the Happy Hearts folder and the Lovely Lace folder.

Each layer is also sponged with Soft Suede ink to make the textures pop out a little and add an aged look.

Supplies:
Floral Phrases
Pool Party, Soft Suede ink
Very Vanilla, Pool Party card stock

All Through the Year

Earlier this week, I shared a non Christmas card using the Warmth and Cheer designer series paper collection and today I have another card using that paper that is Christmas themed.

I took strips of designer series paper (there is also some from the This Christmas collection) and added them diagonally to some card stock and then trimmed it to the size I wanted.

I added a little bit of Fancy Frost designer acetate behind the designer series paper piece and then wrapped some baker's twine around the designer layer and tied on a Christmas trinket embellishment.

The background stamping and sentiment are from the Wonder of Christmas stamp set.

Wonder of Christmas
Garden Green, Crumb Cake ink
Crumb Cake card stock
Fancy Frost designer acetate

Fall Birthday

This is a card I actually made over a month ago and haven't shared with you yet using the August 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit.  It was one of those I made right before I needed it and didn't remember to take a picture while I was still in the craft room so I took it outside on the deck instead!

I used a couple different stamp sets on the card - the leaves and trees are from the Thoughtful Branches set and the sentiment comes from the Better Together stamp set.

I love these little wooden die cuts!

Filled with Happiness

The Everyday Jars framelits paired with the Jar of love stamp set can be used for so many different occasions, they are just too much fun to play with!  For this card, I filled the jar with random designer buttons that I had in my embellishments box.

The background design is a piece of designer series paper from the Warmth and Cheer collection in the Holiday catalog.

Simple Thanks

This time of year, more often than not my projects that I share with you can be made fairly quickly since I am usually either just finishing harvest or cleaning up the harvesting equipment about now.  Unfortunately this year we are barely making a dent in the harvest at this point so there may be some days I miss posting too.

I chose the Perfectly Wrapped stamp set for this card as well as the Hardwood large stamp for the background.  There is a layer of Old Olive card stock with some Serene Scenery designer series paper over the top of the hardwood image and I added a little burlap ribbon for texture.

Supplies:
Perfectly Wrapped, Hardwood

Sending Hugs

I put together today's card a few weeks ago when one of my son's classmates was hurt in a football game.  I didn't want anything too girly so I decided to go with simple and use the Swirly Bird stamp set images.

I chose to use Crushed Curry, Basic Black, Old Olive and Island Indigo ink and added popped up the sentiment from Sunshine Sayings after I cut out the words.

Tiny Treat Box

I decided to decorate one of the Clear Tiny Treat boxes with some Halloween Night specialty paper.  Instead of adding the paper to the outside, I put it on the inside of the box - one piece to go around the outside edges, one for the top and one for the bottom.

Next, I added some silver glitter ribbon around the box and added a metallic foil doily with a punched out circle over the top.  I chose the Ghoulish Grunge stamp set and the one that came in the September paper pumpkin kit for the images on the circle.

Lastly, I added some metallic enamel shapes around the box.

Supplies:
September 2016 Paper Pumpkin kit, Ghoulish Grunge
Smoky Slate, Basic Black ink
Halloween Night specialty paper
Smoky Slate card stock
silver glitter ribbon
metallic enamel shapes
Metallic doilies

In Everything

This card came about because I had some scraps lying around that I wanted to use.  The Fabulous foil designer acetate in the background is the only piece that I didn't actually re cut to make the card though...

A couple layers of matted Blooms and Bliss designer series paper wrapped in some gold bakers twine from the Baker's twine trio pack sits behind the sentiment from the Suite Seasons stamp set.

Supplies:

Freshman Year

This year, my oldest started high school and didn't want mom walking into the school with him.  He did ask me to drive him there, but I think that had more to do with him not wanting to ride the bus that morning...

Fortunately another mom got the kids together for a group picture and shared it with the rest of us!  I decided to used the Good Vibes Project Life collection for the scrapbook page.

I chose to use the middle size in the Variety Pack 2 of the Photo Pocket pages and used lots of different pocket cards.

"Freshman year" is made up of stickers in the accessories kit.

There are some fun stickers and clips to use as well as some washi tape...

Cable Knit Christmas

When I began creating this card, I only knew I wanted to use the Merry Tags framelits as the focal point.  After I had cut those pieces out, the rest of the card just kind of fell into place.  I sponged and rolled edges on some This Christmas specialty paper and layered it onto some Early Espresso card stock and then again layered that on top of some Cherry Cobbler card stock that was embossed with the Cable knit folder.

The sentiment was made by curving the Merry Christmas photopolymer stamp on a block before I stamped it and then punched it out with the Duet banner punch.

All the elements of the card were sponged with Soft Suede ink.

Supplies:
Star of Light
Soft Suede, Early Espresso ink
Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Early Espresso card stock
This Christmas specialty paper
Cable knit folder
duet banner punch
mini jingle bells

Fall Sympathy

I just love the colors and elements in the All Year Long Project Life collection and thought I would make some cards with some of the pieces.  This sympathy card was the first one I came up with, I just added some card stock and a sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.

The focal point design was actually a 4" x 6" piece of vellum that I cut down so I can use parts of it again on another project.

The linen thread was from the September Paper Pumpkin kit that I had leftover...

This is How We Roll

I thought this was a fun title for the picture of Maddie and my niece, Nora while they rolled Lefse with Grandma.  It has been a tradition for them it seems and they are getting pretty good at making (and eating) it!  For the title I used two different alphabet stamp sets - Letters for You and Layered Letters alphabet.

I added a few images from the Homemade for You stamp set as well as one sentiment from the All Year Long Project Life collection.

For the designer series paper, I chose Candy Cane Lane specialty paper and added some Candy Cane Lane baker's twine as well.

There are a few random Project Life accessories and the little camera clip is from the All Year Long collection.

Supplies:
Homemade for You, All Year Long Project Life, Layered Letters alphabet, Letters for you
Crumb Cake, Real Red, Basic Black ink
Real Red, Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Early Espresso card stock
