Repurposed box

There are so many times that I save a box from a toy or something else thinking I am going to make a project with it someday and don't, but this time I found a great way to use this wooden half box leftover from a puzzle my kids used to play with.

I used the Quatrefancy specialty paper window sheet to make a box cover and also decorated the wooden half with the same designer series paper.

It is perfect for cards and envelopes!

Supplies:
Joy to the World, Christmas Messages
Strawberry Slush, Island Indigo ink
Whisper White Strawberry Slush, Island Indigo card stock
Frosted finishes embellishments
organza ribbon
apothecary accents framelits
modern mosaic folder
Quatrefancy specialty paper
tea lace paper doilies

Non Winning Artisan Project #9

So for the first 3D project entry I altered a canvas using reinkers, glue and salt.  Then, I used the Music Notes wheel and added some stamping to it.

The basic rhinestones were colored with reinkers and crystal effects before I added them to the canvas and I also dyed some paper doilies to use for accents.

I found a great Christopher Robin quote that I printed onto some Canvas Creations and then I sponged and spritzed ink over it before I added an image and some recolored basic pearls.

The butterflies are cut from the cardboard box that a My Paper Pumpkin kit came in and then I used the same music notes wheel to add music.

The canvas creations strips behind the picture were dyed just like the paper doilies and then distressed directly with ink pads.

There was lots of dimension and texture in this piece and it is another one that I would have loved to keep, but probably won't spend the time recreating for my own use.

Oh, Hello Notes

Today's creation is a folder filled with note cards all of which are very easy to recreate.  The folder is made from Naturals Composition specialty paper cut to 10" x 7 1/2".  I scored it at 5" on the longer side and 1 1/2" on the shorter side, cut the 1 1/2" up to the score line on the 5" score and used sticky strip to make pockets.

One tip if you are stamping on the paper doilies...wait until one ink is dry before you stamp over it.  I didn't quite wait long enough after stamping the sentiment before I stamped the background image.

The folder holds 6 note cards that are 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" and have 2 layers - Raspberry Ripple for the base and Whisper White for the top.

The note cards were stamped with the Everything Eleanor and Creative Elements stamp sets using Primrose Petals and Crumb Cake ink.
