Live the Life

I always thought this greeting from Really Good Greetings was pretty versatile and have used it quite a bit.  For this card, I paired it with the flower image from Gifts of Kindness and some framelit pieces from Deco label framelits and Apothecary accents framelits.

While this is the last day of Sale-a-bration, I know I will continue to use the Decorative Dots folder for a long time - I think it is my favorite Sale-a-bration item this time around!  You can still earn one if you shop today!!

The Grad Life

Today's cards are some hybrids made using My Digital Studio's The Grad Life download.  I did a little stamping on them as well using the Pomp and Circumstance stamp set that is in the Occasions catalog.

Each one is slightly different, but the basic concept is the same.  I used some Silver Fancy Foil Vellum in the background on a few and on others some Silver Glimmer paper.

The matting for both the digital pieces and the stamped items also vary as I was digging into the scrap box again as I created them.

Every year I try to get my graduation cards done early since we get so busy shipping and planting potatoes in April and May and I don't want to have to scramble at the last minute to get them done.  Somehow, I always do a little scrambling, but this year I made many many more than usual so I think I will be good...maybe.

Hello Lovely

And again, a thank you that is very simple and one layer (so not my usual style!!).  I played around with each card I created in this style moving around the placement of the images a little bit.

I chose Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding and Coastal Cabana as my colors and added a few Basic Rhinestones to the finished card.

Supplies:
Hello Lovely, Lots of Thanks
Whisper White card stock
Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron, Pistachio Pudding and Coastal Cabana ink

Off the Grid

As I created the thank you cards for graduates last weekend, I made several of the styles simple instead of lots of layers and busy.  This is another sample of some of the gifts.

I used the Off the Grid, Gorgeous Grunge and Lots of Thanks stamp sets along with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches and some basic rhinestones. I think with all the cards I made, I went through 3 packages of Very Vanilla/Whisper White card stock!

2nd Grade!

This is another retreat weekend project - I had to take a break from cards for awhile and work on something different!  I took my daughter's 2nd grade class picture and decided to use this small printer's tray to display it.

Each of the top sections had a different color of card stock that has been embossed with an embossing folder before I did any other decorating.

I used the Alphabet press folder for the one on the left and then added some Delicate Details lace tape, gold baker's twine, a heart from the essentials wooden elements collection and layered sentiment from Hip Notes.

In the middle I used some die cuts from the On Film framelits collection, the Chevron folder and Watercolor wonder washi tape.  Lastly, I used the Decorative Dots folder, more washi tape and the ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers stamp set.

The day when I pull this out to display for her high school graduation will come a lot sooner than I think (or want it to)!

A Note of Thanks

Last weekend, I attended a twice a year retreat where I had the chance to spend time with great friends and do some creative things as well.  My main goals were to use some scraps I had thrown in a pile (A BIG ONE) and to complete the thank you cards I like to give our nieces and nephews as part of their graduation gifts.

While I made a dent in the pile, I didn't quite use it all up, but I did get the thank you cards done and will be sharing them with you over the next week or so.  Some of them were made with the musical note I carved using the Undefined stamp carving kit and some scraps of In color designer series paper from the 2012- 2014 collection.

Very simple and easy to put together, but I love them!

Good Thoughts

Today's card share is fairly simple using the Perfect Pennants stamp set for the sentiment an some Soho Subway designer series paper as an accent.  I like this sentiment as an alternative for thinking of you once in awhile to change things up.

I added some Baked Brown Sugar ruffle stretch trim and used Sticky Strip to hold it in place.  There is also a strip of Watercolor Wonder designer washi tape running down the Island Indigo card stock on the side.

Supplies:
Perfect Pennants
Soft Suede ink
Soho Subway dsp
Crisp Cantaloupe, Island Indigo, Very Vanilla card stock
Watercolor Wonder designer washi tape

Keep Me in Your Heart

The Late Night Stampers challenge starting today is Spring flowers or colors and when I think of spring I think of tulips so...

I found another fun thing to alter on my trip to the craft store a little while ago.  This is just a piece of wood, about 1/4" thick that I added some specialty paper to and decorated.

The saying is another one that I found on Pinterest and had pinned - I thought it was a sweet one!

To get the Naturals Composition specialty paper to the correct size for this shape, I just traced the outline on the back side of the specialty paper and cut it out.  It is attached with sticky strip and then to remove any imperfections in the cutting, I sanded down the corners.

It is a little difficult to see, but for the Crushed Curry tulips, I colored them in with markers an then also colored another set and cut out the blossoms, adding them to the original piece with dimensionals to make them pop.

For these tulips, I used Primrose Petals and highlighted them with Cherry Cobbler.  Each set is also sponged on the edges with Soft Suede ink.

I had to add a little Essentials Wooden Element - they are just too much fun!  and I used a stamp from Hip Notes and some Soft Suede ink.

The background of the saying has some ink spritzed on it in various colors and also a few images from the Happy Watercolor stamp set.  Linen thread around the whole piece finishes off the elements of this creation - now to find a good place to put it!

Come on over and join us for the LNS challenge!

Simple box

This is just a simple box that I decorated with the Best of Flowers stamp set, some Afternoon Picnic designer paper and accessories.  It could be for a gift card, tags, or anything you can think of and measures about 3 1/2" x 4 1/2".

I chose to use Wisteria Wonder and Coastal Cabana as my accent colors and added some burlap ribbon and a Very Vintage button as well.

The Wisteria Wonder piece was embossed with the Chevron folder for some texture and the flower is layered with Labels collection framelits.

These colors look so pretty together I think and help me to remember spring is just around the corner - hopefully!

Have a wonderful day!

Graduation is just around the corner so I am working on some cards for the occasion!  This one is hybrid using the digital download called The Grad Life.

I used the Starburst framelits to cut out the "conquer the dream" piece and added some texture behind the sentiments with the Modern Mosaic folder.

So simple to put together, but I think it looks really fun!

March My Paper Pumpkin

This may be the very first time I have put the My Paper Pumpkin kit together the day I received it.  It is by far my FAVORITE one!!

The kit is for 8 cards and the card bases are all the same...

there are 4 wood cut thank yous and 4 congrats...

two photopolymer stamps and a bunch of self adhesive champagne glimmer dots.

It also comes with 8 envelopes and 8 envelope liners made from gold fancy foil paper that I have not included in the pictures.

I added a few items to the cards, but with the background on the card base, I think they are fun with very little extra.

\

Remember, you can still sign up for My Paper Pumpkin and get FREE MARKERS until March 31st!  Wouldn't this be something fun to get in the mail?  Just go here to sign up and wait for your kit to come next month.  It is always a surprise, and a fun way to spend a little time creating!

What are you waiting for?

Have a wonderful day!!

Burlap and Sunshine

While browsing through a craft store a few weeks ago, I found some stretched burlap (like a stretched canvas) and thought it would be fun to decorate.  My daughter has been asking me to add new creations to her walls so I thought she might like this piece...

Again, the Hexagon Hive framelits are in play in this piece, I just cut off the edges to give them a rougher look and placed them behind the picture and saying.

The smaller hexagons attached to the die cut are pieces that came out of another one I had die cut from Island Indigo card stock.

I added a little texture with the Chevron embossing folder on some Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and also added some 5/8" natural chevron ribbon.

My saying is one I found on Pinterest that I liked and then I put it into My Digital Studio and added some stamps around and behind it before printing it out.

Supplies:
My Digital Studio
Very  Vanilla, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Crisp Cantaloupe card stock
Naturals designer buttons
Very Vintage buttons
Linen thread
Hexagon Hive thinlit
Hexagon punch
7/8" scallop circle punch
Heartfelt Banner kit
Banners Framelits
