CCMC148

Create with Connie and Mary this week has a color challenge - Perfect Plum, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi.  I decided to use the new level 2 hostess set from the upcoming Summer Mini called Love and Care for my card.

I sponged the edges of the top panel and the sentiment and then after it was all complete, I added some homemade mist.  A mixture of Perfect Plum reinker and rubbing alcohol.  I would maybe add a little more alcohol next time to get the color a little lighter, but I do like the effect it gives.

Great Friend

Here are some more of those little circles I mentioned awhile ago that we were trying to help a friend use up at our March scrapbooking retreat.

I used some retired paper (Pale Plum) and some altered paper from a swap I did last year at VC Rocks.  The border is done with the Framed Tulips impressions folder and I added some dimension to the circles with the Perfect Polka Dots impressions folder.  The card needed a little bling so I added a few basic rhinestones as well.  The stamp is from the All Holidays set.

Butterfly Mother's Day

I made a few more Mother's Day cards and this one shows a preview of the Flower Garden impressions folder.

Also used:
Beautiful Wings embosslit, 1 3/4" circle punch, vanilla shimmer smooch spritz
Baja Breeze, Daffodil Delight, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White card stock

It is really hard to see on the pictures, but there is a lot of shimmer on this card and it really adds to it.

Fun Flowers tag card

I was playing around with a few scraps again and came up with this card and I really like the way it turned out.  The Old Olive tag is the part that was the scrap, I had used them for a project one time and have a few left overs laying around.

The images on the Very Vanilla layer of the tag are from the Tiny Tags stamp set and the sentiment is from Just Believe.  I also used the Springtime Vintage designer series paper and the First Edition Specialty paper.  The flowers are cut with the Fun Flowers die and put together with an antique brad.  The distressing is done with the mahogany distress ink found in the distressing kit.  You will also find a little Victoria crochet trim ribbon and some hemp twine to finish off the tag.

Thanks A Million

I decided to make the sketch for Mary Jo's challenge this week match the Late Night Stampers patriotic challenge and do it red, white and blue.
Originally, I was not going to spritz the card, but I smudged some Pacific Point ink so needed to cover it up!

Supplies:
Word Play stamp set
Real Red, Whisper White card stock
Celebrations quick accents
Celebrations Designer Series paper
Blueberry Crisp designer series paper
Pacific Point, Real Red classic ink
Brights button
hemp twine
glue dots
On Board Mix and Match chipboard (star)

Red White and Blue

We are challenged to make patriotic cards this week at Late Night Stampers, so I decided to do one in My Digital Studio since I don't really have any patriotic stamp sets.

I played around a little with the drop shadowing and changed the color so it wasn't black, I will have to experiment a little more with it.

Bunnies and Chocolate

My friend, Patti Kerlin, showed a bunch of us how to make these cute little bunnies with Hershey bars about a month ago and I thought I would make my kids and nieces some for Easter.  I decided to use dies and punches for mine...

These are super simple and I know I have seen some other samples of bunnies that are much more elaborate, but they were fun and quick to make.

I used the larger scallop on the scallop circle #2 die, the 2 largest oval punches, part of the 3 heart punch and the 1/2" circle punch.  I used Blushing Bride, Very Vanilla and Early Espresso card stock and the white gel pen.  The papers are from the hostess level 1 paper pack.

CCMC 147

I used the sketch from Create with Connie and Mary for this card and used the faux mother of pearl technique on 2 of the layers.  I didn't have the frost white shimmer paint, so I used the champagne mist color instead and then brayered Blushing Bride over the top (on glossy white card stock).

For the flower stamp, I used my markers and first did a layer of Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz and then added some accents with Regal Rose and Old Olive so it would be a darker image on the altered paper.
Supplies:
Blessed Mother stamp set
Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Glossy White card stock
Blushing Bride, Soft Suede, Regal Rose, Pear Pizzazz and Old Olive inks and markers
hostess level 1 paper pack
corner rounder
dimensionals
petal cone die (for the sentiment banner)

Six photo challenge

I have a digital challenge up on Soul Scrappers right now to create a page using 6 photos, 4 embellishments, 3 Designer Series papers,  and 2 stamps.  This is my sample made with My Digital Studio.

Come on over and join us!

Everything

Another My Digital Studio page, this time done for our Late Night Stampers challenge of baby things this week.  I had another card made, but really did not like the way it turned out so I went with this instead :)

It is hard to believe these pictures are already 7 years old.  My little monkeys are still inseparable!

Inspirational birthday

At a retreat that I attend semi annually, we have an inspiration box that contains odds and ends of things that people have had laying around.  We can go through the box and pick something out to create a project with and this was the card I came up with last time.  The H and B came out of the inspiration box and I sanded them down and then sponged them with Soft Suede ink.

The rest was either from my scrap pile or was something that was close to me in my workspace at the time.  I always love using the fabric and have fallen in love with the music notes wheel as well so I put them together.  The sentiment is from Bring on the Cake and I added a vintage flower adornment, a vintage trinket, basic pearls and a piece of vanilla seam binding.

Springtime Smiles

I flipped Mary Jo's sketch for this card and made a super quick and easy one.  I also spritzed the card when I was finished with my own mixture.  After I emptied one of the Vanilla shimmer mist containers, I added a little Champagne Mist shimmer paint and alcohol to refill it and that is what I used on this card.

Blushing Bride, Naturals White card stock
Easter Blossoms stamp set
hostess level 1 paper pack
Peach Parfait and Early Espresso classic ink
oval and scallop oval punches
Flower Garden impressions folder

Circles

Apparently before I was introduced to Stampin' Up!, they sold sheets of circles (must have been before the punches?).  A friend at a retreat was on a mission to use up a bunch of them that she had purchased and never used so she was sharing :)  I made quite a few cards with a sheet of them, but thought it would be fun to use the negative part as well.

I cut part of the sheet and attached it to some Daffodil Delight and then ran it through the Vintage Wallpaper impressions folder.  Then, just added a quick sentiment, a scrap of fabric and a fabric brad to finish it off.  It was a fun little challenge to lighten things up and get some more creative juices flowing!

Candy Pouch

This is a project that was done by Jessica Luther for UStamp with Dawn and Friends Big Shot Brilliance, it is a cute little candy pouch and card.  I used the Sale-a-bration Ice Cream Parlor kits to recreate it and the Afterthoughts stamp set for the card.

It was super fun and easy to make and is a nice little gift, I gave it to my secret pal as a thank you during my retreat at PRBC in March.

The base is a 11 x 14 canvas and I used tons of Big Shot dies and impressions folders and materials on it.

There is still time to come over and see all of the project by our awesome designers!

More Mother's Day

This is a second sample for the Late Night Stampers challenge this week. I used the First Edition specialty paper (just love this stuff!) and the Botanical Gazette designer series paper.

I cut off part of the scallop square so it would fit on the card and added the top not over it with some rolled edges. The flower image is stamped on the First Edition paper and then I stamped the same thing on Very Vanilla and cut out the flower and layered it on top. There are a few little pearls on the flower as well and I finished it off with some Pear Pizzazz seam binding and a couple more pearls.

also used:

Top Note, Scallop Square dies
Because I Care stamp set
Marina Mist, Very Vanilla, Early Espresso card stock
Always Artichoke, Marina Mist and Night of Navy markers
Early Espresso classic ink

Stamp Club projects

I wanted to make a couple spring cards this time around - wishful thinking!!  The first one has color added with the color spritzer tool and also some Vanilla Shimmer smooch spritz.

The layout this time is very plain and simple using the First Edition and Elegant Soiree papers.

I added a little layered flower (fun flowers die) and neutral button with hemp twine to the second page.
