So Sorry

Today's card is a simple sympathy one that uses the Field Flowers and So Sorry stamp sets.

I used Rose Red and Raspberry Ripple on the blossoms and Old Olive on the stems.  The sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso and I added some Naturals trim ribbon under it.

Bloomin Bouquet Project Kit

Stampin' Up! has a new kit for us!  I love it when they add a video as well - make sure you take a look and remember it is available while supplies last :)

Bloomin' Bouquet Project Kit

Mother's Day. Teacher appreciation. Just because. Say thank you with this no-maintenance bouquet. There's no watering, no weeding-just enjoying. This easy-to-assemble kit comes complete with the petals, stems, and buttons to create the flowers, as well as four different tags to make this the perfect gift for any occasion. All you need is some paper, ribbon or a vase to add the finishing touches to the bouquet.
As if that weren't enough, the kit contains a "baker's dozen"! This means you can create and give (or keep) a dozen flowers, and have a bonus flower left over to pass along to someone new!

Item 134542 $12.95
Available starting April 29, while supplies last.
Kit contents:
  • 2 sheets of preprinted and precut flowers on 12" X 12" cardstock; makes 13 flowers using Pool Party, Gumball Green, Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, and Rich Razzleberry
  • 13 Vintage Faceted Buttons
  • 13 green floral wire stems
Adhesive not included. (Glue gun recommended.)

Does it look like fun?  Order one today!

Congrats Grad

I have been working on some Graduation cards lately and thought I would share this one as part of our Late Night Stampers challenge of Celebration Projects.

I used the Blue Ribbon stamp set stamped the ribbon with Not Quite Navy and cut it out.  Then, I punched a circle from Silver Glimmer paper and a smaller one from Very Vanilla with the sentiment inside and layered them.

The designer series paper is from Be of Good Cheer and I added some Basic Gray textured card stock in the background.

Supplies:
Blue Ribbon
Not Quite Navy, Cherry Cobbler classic ink
Very vanilla, Basic gray, Cherry cobbler card stock
Silver glimmer paper
Honeycomb folder
1 1/4" circle punch
1" circle punch

Tea for Two

I think I shy away from the Tea Shoppe stamp set because I feel like I need to cut out the tea cup when I use it - truthfully it doesn't take that long when I do, but I guess I tend to avoid cutting, LOL!

Supplies:
Tea for Two
Perfect Plum, Island Indigo ink
Whisper White and Perfect Plum card stock
Artisan embellishment kit
Island Indigo ribbon (sale-a-bration)

Basic Gray, Very Vanilla card stock
First Edition dsp
Summer smooches dsp
1" circle punch

Seriously!

Well, I sat down with my April Paper Pumpkin kit and played a little today.  I still have two cards left to make, I am just not sure of the direction I want to go with them yet :)

For the first one, I used the Blue Ribbon stamp set and made it a graduation card.  Other than the two circles and graduation sentiment, I didn't use anything extra other than what came in the box.

On the second one, I went with a thank you, using the sentiment from Wacky Wishes.  I again only used what was in the box except for the stamped sentiment and some sponging.

I love the pattern on the card base and also the bottom layer!

Retiring Lists are out!

It is that time of year again, time to say goodbye to lots of stamp sets and accessories as we welcome in the new products starting May 31st.

There are some great discounts on some retiring accessories!  Remember, all products listed are while supplies last so don't wait to shop!

You can find the retiring stamp sets here.
You can find the retiring accessories here.

Some items on the list are fabrics, table top trimmer, glossy paper, grid paper, lots of ribbons, card stock, ink pads, etc.  Don't wait too long to shop

Hey There Friend

Isn't it fun that after we use our Paper Pumpkin kits we still have some fun stamps to play with?  I put together some fun cards using both of the stamps that were included in the March kit.

I used Raspberry Ripple and Baja Breeze markers for the sayings and punched them out with the decorative label punch.

On two of the backgrounds, I stamped the splatter image with Raspberry Ripple and on the other two I used the Honeycomb folder.

Each one has a strip of Summer Smooches dsp and some ribbon - some from the Artisan embellishment kit, some scallop dots and some stitched satin.

The dsp on the card above is actually from Patio Party.

What fun have you had with the Paper Pumpkin kits?

I have a son that will be confirmed this spring so I thought I better get started making some Confirmation cards.  The sentiment on this one was printed using My Digital Studio.

Laughter

Our Late Night Stampers Challenge this week is to use a layout as inspiration for a card or vice versa.  It can also be a 3d item that is inspired by another type of item.

I am using the layout I showed you yesterday (see below) as my inspiration for a card.

I used not only the same layout, but the same dsp, card stock colors and stamped images.

The difference is instead of the picture, I layered a sentiment from Word Play.

Supplies:
Word Play, Betsy's Blossoms, Great Sport
Whisper White, Pacific Point and Basic Gray card stock
Pacific Point, Daffodil Delight, Bubblegum Green and Melon Mambo classic ink
Sunshine and Sprinkles dsp
sponge dauber
decorative label punch
7/8" scallop circle punch
neutrals designer button
dimensionals
glue dots

Hope you come over and play along!

So Different

I just love the picture I used on this scrapbook page.  It was taken last summer while we visited some family and it tells so much about these two.

I used Betsy's Blossoms stamp set for some background as well as the circle from Great Sport (the piece left over from the largest image) and a sponge dauber.

The dsp is Sunshine and Sprinkles - I thought it matched their clothing colors pretty well and I used MDS for the title and journaling.

If you can't read the t-shirt, it says "I don't need your attitude, I've got my own" - and it is a perfect shirt for Nora.

Whole Lotta

Even thought Sale-a-bration is over, we can still have fun using those free stamp sets we earned!  I like the stamps in the Patterned Occasions set because you can really make some quick and cute cards with them.

This is a CASE of one I found on Pinterest that was done in neutral colors, I used Baja Breeze and some Designer Series stacks dsp along with some Island Indigo ribbon (sale-a-bration also).  The original card can be found here.

The image is stamped with Soft Suede and the heart is colored in with a Baja Breeze marker.

Bring Sunshine

I just love the sayings in the Feel Goods stamp set and I thought that the designer series paper Sunshine and Sprinkles would pair with this one nicely.

I added a Cute Clips - Hung up element and some Marina Mist scallop dots ribbon to each one.  These are very simple and quick to put together.

Supplies:
Feel Goods
Pacific Point ink
Whisper White, Pacific Point, Melon Mambo and Soft Suede card stock

TSSC259

I am playing along with Mary Jo's sketch challenge this week since things are not melting too quickly and spring farm work can't be started yet.

I used the Need for Speed and Wacky Wishes stamp sets and did two different card with the same sketch, just changing the designer series paper patterns and the base card stock color.

The first one uses Basic Black as a base and I stamped the cars and sentiments with Basic Gray (on both cards).

Each card also uses the same designer series paper pack - Sycamore Street (from this year's Sale-a-bration).

I added some scallop dots 1/2" Old Olive ribbon and some brights and neutrals designer buttons.

Honeycomb Happiness

This is really a quick card to put together and you could easily use a scrap of designer series paper  as well.

Always Artichoke is not a color I pull out too often, but I did use it on the stem of the flowers on this card, the flower is Cherry Cobbler.

Supplies:
Love and Sympathy, Pursuit of Happiness
Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler and Always Artichoke ink and markers
Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla card stock
Labels collection framelits
Honeycomb folder
Parker's Patterns dsp

Feel Better

As I mentioned earlier, my daughter had her tonsils out last week and since she is my little card making helper, I wanted to make her a special card.

I used the Betsy's Blossoms and Sassy Salutations stamp sets and layered a Labels collection framelit over an Apothecary Accent.

The flower trim was dyed Calypso Coral with some reinkers and water and the background is embossed with the Cloudy Day folder.

I added a strip of Naturals Composition specialty paper behind the sentiment and then some flowers on the inside of the card.

Colors - Baja Breeze and Very Vanilla card stock
Baja Breeze and Raspberry Ripple classic ink

Paired with a Punch

At Late Night Stampers this week we are pairing stamp sets with punches so I pulled out the Four Frames stamp set and my Decorative Label punch.

My sentiment is from the Friendly Phrases stamp set and I added a retired corduroy button for an accent.

The background is made with several different designer series papers - Fan Fair, Parker's Patterns, and Naturals Composition specialty paper.  I embossed the Early Espresso layer with the Vintage wallpaper folder.

Come on over and join us - you can see what the design team created here.

Happy Day

I am sharing a couple cards that are pretty similar to each other, both made with leftovers that I had used for other projects.  Sometimes that makes putting cards together easier and sometimes it makes it a lot harder trying to figure out how to use the pieces.

The first one uses a sentiment from Friendly Phrases along with images from Oh Hello and some Tea for Two dsp.

The second only uses the Oh Hello stamp set and once again the Tea for Two dsp.  I haven't been the biggest fan of Calypso Coral, but I have been trying to make myself use it more especially since it will be part of the color renovation coming up.
