Foil Birthday

I made a few fun, bright and glittery birthday cards using a sentiment from Beautiful You one day.  The background is Lemon Lime Twist card stock that is embossed with the Simple Stripes folder and then I added a layer of Foil Frenzy specialty paper.  

Next came a piece of glitter paper cut with the Stitched Shapes framelits and some Shimmer ribbon from Sale-a-bration.  The sentiment is cut out with the Tailored Tag punch and I also added a 2016-2018 In Color glitter acrylic accent to finish it off.

Sweet Thoughts

One of the fun jar stamp sets that I tend to overlook is called Sharing Sweet Thoughts and I just love the little strawberries!  For this card I colored them in with my Stampin' Blends and added some images from Timeless Textures in the background.

The Early Espresso layer of card stock was cut using the Stitched Shapes framelits and I have also added a 2 1/2" circle that was punched out. The baker's twine just adds a little more texture and color.

So Much So Often

Today's card goes back to using the current catalog products.  I started with the Basket Weave folder on some Soft Suede card stock and then sponged some Soft Suede ink over it to define the embossing.  

Next, I added some Bundle of Love specialty paper and linen thread.  The sentiment layer has some leave images from the Butterfly Basics stamp set and the sentiment comes from the Special Celebrations set.  I also added a few basic pearls for accents.

Vintage Special Day

I think my favorite stamp in the Very Vintage (hostess) stamp set if the doily image and I have used it quite a bit lately.  On this card, I inked it with Crumb Cake and then stamped off on some grid paper before stamping on the card stock to lighten it up a bit.

The die cut comes from the Stitched Labels framelits which coordinates with the Stitched all Around stamp set, the set from which my sentiment comes.  I also added a couple different patterns of Tranquil Textures designer series paper.  Are you ready for me to use a different package of designer series paper yet?  LOL!

May Paper Pumpkin

While I haven't had the time to play with my May Paper Pumpkin kit, I wanted to share the video which shows all the fun you can have with it!  It should be fun to see what other projects I can come up with using it as well and I will share those at a later time.

Happy 16!

Today my oldest child turns 16! The day before he was born there were snowflakes in the air and we were still planting potatoes - in fact a few hours after he arrived, Joe went back to the tractor and finished planting for the season. 

It is also the last day of school for my kids and I don't know how many times he asked me if he could not go today since they only have school until about noon.  Being the mean mom, I didn't let him skip...

His card is pretty simple but I chose to use one of the new colors that Stampin' Up! is giving us in the new Idea Book and Catalog - Granny Apple Green.  It is the card base and the ink color for the "16".  In addition I added some Fresh Fig stars cut out using the Stars framelits and some Tranquil Textures designer series paper (also from the new Idea Book and Catalog).

Soire Birthday

I will get away from the Tranquil Textures designer series paper today to show you a simple card made with the Sweet Soiree specialty paper which is in the Occasions catalog. 

For the background I decided to use two different patterns of the paper, one with silver foil accents and one without and they are matted on So Saffron card stock.  The sentiment is from the Milestone Moments stamp set and the ink color is Melon Mambo.

Mother's Day

While we have passed Mother's Day on the calendar, I wanted to share the card I gave my mom this year since it uses some new catalog products.  

The focus of the card is the stamp set called Very Vintage which is a hostess set.  I stamped the flower image with Crumb Cake ink and the doilies with Pool Party ink.  There is some Tranquil Textures designer series paper in the background as well as a white doily.

The accents are called faceted dots and are cut like the rhinestones and are self adhesive.  There is also a little bit of lace trim and linen thread to finish off the card.

Lovely Floral Thank You

Well, we are not quite done planting our crops but Thursday and Friday we were blessed with a much needed rain and I have been able to play catch up a little bit! 

The thank you card I chose to share with you today uses a lot of new catalog products although none of the new colors.

I started with some Tranquil Textures designer series paper and you will see many of the cards I share with you this week will use different designs from this paper collection.  Next, I embossed a piece of Rich Razzleberry with the Lovely Floral folder and added some 5/8" polka dot tulle ribbon.

The sentiment comes from the Stitched all Around stamp set which does have coordinating framelits, but I chose to use a circle punch to cut it out instead.  Lastly I have added a Leaves Trinket - these come in two colors as you can see by the card in the corner that I did using Night of Navy for the card base.

When I created some sympathy cards using the Lovely as a Tree and Flourishing Phrases stamp sets, I wanted to stamp on some of the Wood Textures designer series paper.  To be honest, I am not completely satisfied with how the card turned out so I may play with the idea a little more another time.

Behind the Wood Textures I used some True Gentleman designer series paper with a predominantly Tranquil Tide color.  For an accent I used one of the wood elements that was included with the arch 2018 Paper Pumpkin as a free gift.  One side is wood and the other is white and colorable with the Stampin' Blends.

Springtime Phrases

I guess I am carrying over the wedding theme from yesterday with the cards I am showing you today.  These are made with some of the Springtime Florals specialty paper from Sale-a-bration that I colored with Stampin' Blends.  

For my sentiments I chose the Floral Phrases stamp set and I have highlighted the specialty paper with a layer of Gold Foil Paper beneath it.

I enjoyed playing around with different colors of Stampin' Blends for the flower images in this paper, I think the Cherry Cobbler and Pool Party/Bermuda Bay flowers are my favorite.

May Stamp Club Projects

I probably should be sharing these projects individually this month instead of all together if I want to keep my blog posts going...we are busy planting wheat and soybeans right now as we also ship seed potatoes and haul in the seed potatoes that we will start planting on Monday.  Crazy time of year for us and then we add in the boys playing spring baseball....! So if the blog goes silent for a few days or a day here and there, you will know why.

This month, I chose to use some sneak peek items and some that are retiring.  For the first card, I chose a Hostess stamp set that is in the Occasions catalog called Yay you and paired it with returning color Mint Macaron and new In Color Grapefruit Grove.

The second card pairs the Share What You Love designer series paper with some Wood Textures designer series paper and the Love What You Do stamp set.

Finally, the layout uses some Pick a Pattern designer series paper and one of my favorite embellishments, glitter enamel dots.  We will have more fun embellishments coming out soon and I can't wait to play with all of them!

These are some more of the thank you cards I made for our engaged niece.  I wanted to use the Sweet Soirée specialty paper in some way and chose to add a sentiment and images from the Eclectic Expressions (SAB 2018) stamp set.

As accents, I added a white doily, starburst punched Sweet Sugarplum card stock and some glitter enamel dots.

I have another sample for you today using some products in the early release Share What You Love Suite.  The stamp set is called Make a Difference and I stamped the image with a new In Color called Blueberry Bushel.  It is matted on some Grapefruit Grove card stock which is also a new In Color.

The background is again from the Share What You Love designer series paper and I added some Rich Razzleberry 1/4" velvet ribbon as an accent.

This is another preview card using the Share What You Love Suite, this time it showcases one of the new In Colors called Grapefruit Grove and a returning color - Mint Macaron.  

The background behind the flowers and the card base are in the Grapefruit Grove color and I have added another piece of the beautiful Share What You Love designer series paper to my card - this one has embossing on it which you can't see in the picture.  I also added a Pearlized doily, some Rich Razzleberry 1/4" velvet ribbon and a little metal flower from the Share What You Love embellishment kit.
